Great video man, gave you a shoutout in our server. Keep up the great work and you captured the heart of the big reason as to why we are bringing it back!
I haven’t but I have watched some of Red Zed’s videos on the game, probably comes close to being the most accurate sim out there, I just like the variety of the battles that total war has to offer
@@ahowl1136 No, it´s still a big issue for many players and the modders are aware of it. This is also one of the reasons why they are reducing the amount of settlements by around 500.
Why not keep the capital cities of each region and place the other less important cities and towns as resources? Though you should be allowed to fight and conquer (occupy as you would a tower or resource) each of these minor cities to weaken the province over time before you take on the capital, these less important cities could be bypassed instead and fall under your influence or rebel after you claimed more important ones. That could reduce the amount of regions to claim but maintain some semblance of these regions as if they were present. If not and you wish to keep these provinces, have them submit after the capital city has been conquered to speed up the pace of the campaign.
I've actually always preferred playing a faction within Rome. I'm an outlier though. I love playing with vassals, being a vassal, anything with an interesting diplomatic premise in Toral War games.
yeah... I hope they really address the crashes? Lots of people complain that at a certain turn, the game just crashes, myself included. And it is like turn 50, not 400. I love that the map is HUGE, with lots of settlements, which means a lot of action, but the game becomes laggy and buggy, not at all optimized. As for the maneuverability, you are right. Not a lot of space to maneuver. The first time I considered the terrain I was in was in Sicily as Rome, when war with Carthage broke out xD.
If it’s turn 50 then it’s likely your hardware that is at fault tbh. Make sure you use the latest graphics drivers for starter and if that doesn’t help turn down the settings.
On the discord, one of the devs mentioned test campaigns of up to 1,100 turns without crashes, so it seems like, at least based on their own testing, the issue of late-game crashing has been fixed.
@@Tarnholm I tried that already, it is the same issue. And lots of people reported the same, some with better specks than mine. Last I played was 2 weeks ago, so not too long ago
Loved the original Roma Surrectum, and love this new mod. Unfortunately, my mega campaign of 200+ turns won't load anymore, it just freezes during loading... Edit: You explained why that happens in the video - is there any workaround?
was a massive issue which helped us identify the fact that we cannot have so many settlements. It's been fixed and public beta testing just began 3 minutes ago.

Great video bro! Love the historical aspects 😄
Great vid! Did you ever Play Imperator:Rome?

no one seems to mention the game still crashes very often , after 120+ turns the campaign becomes impossible to go on
That's one of the major things they're focused on fixing with the new beta.
It’s been fixed 😁
@@ahowl1136 its fixed my ass

Maybe try a previous save file? It also might not be compatible with newer versions of the mod, or at least cause problems when loaded

I would like to keep all the types lf battles not just one type
I would love to see some kind of options for upholding republican traditions. Great vid 👌🏻
