I don't know if you can answer these 2 questions, but in a total war saga troy, is there a shoreline near that hill that the outer wall of Troy connects to? And can armies in troy march up hills?@@AndysTake
the administration burden mechanic seems counter productive? you literally cant field more than 2 full stack armies without crippling your economy. How are you supposed to defend your lands in the late game with 2 armies? Ive had this issue in every playthrough so far
About dynasties: I struggle a bit with all these board-game like mechanics. I’ll probably get into it after a while, but coming from Rome total war, the mechanics/rules feel a bit too stylized, which is probably good for clarity, but it does require me to read all these tool tips, and rules of the game which I don’t enjoy.
Does TW: Pharaoh Dynasties affect the authenticity and/or flow of the tutorial campaign where you play as Ramesses? What I'm asking is, does the tutorial still play the way it was intended in vanilla Pharaoh to learn the mechanics of the game, or would it be better to just play an actual campaign? Note: I have not played Pharaoh or Pharaoh Dynasties at all. I know that generally when developers or modders overhaul a game, like NTW3 for Total War: Napoleon for example, playing through the tutorial gets kind of broken, because it's not the same game anymore.
This is super overwhelming and I think the fanbase agrees. Current Players according to Steam Charts, Nov, 2024: Total War: ROME II - Emperor Edition: 5,428 Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition: 4,787 Total War: PHARAOH DYNASTIES: 931 Sometimes the old ways are the best ways.
Doesn't make Pharaoh a bad game. It's not because people can't understand very simple mechanics once you get into them that it's a bad game. I'll enjoy my Pharaoh thank you. Oh and Warhammer 18 000 concurrent players. So your old ways argument is not very genuine.
Hey Andy (or somebody else) can you tell me why you have legitimacy -2 at minute 40:35? I have the same with my current amenese campaign despite the fact i build a lot of buildings to gain legitimacy and win battle it is always -3 or 4 i thought it was a bug.
Some legitimacy is temporary and that -2 is just that temporary legitimacy decaying over time. For example, legitimacy gained through battles is temporary and I think so is legitimacy from diplomacy
@wardzer yeay thats what i thought, but im now turn 60, and it's never went in a + or equalise i have all the -3 or 4 because of battles. What i try to say if you see what sources gives a + and only batlles give -3 decay then its weird (in my opinion) its all the time -3
@@KingofRome24 I don't think there are any sources of +legitimacy over time so you will probably only see a negative number there or 0 if you haven't gotten any temporary bonuses lately (legitimacy you get in the court is also temporary mind you)
Loving the game but I'm having alot of Desyncs with co op campaigns and crashes to desktop, is this game going to get a patch? Just doesn't run great all the time on my PC
So, it always confused me a bit with Pharaoh that melee attack can't be increased by your general, yet Melee Defense/charge can. I read through the Wiki a bit to try to learn the Game and the ingame Wiki clearly states "Presence increases melee Attack and morale at milestone points", yet it only increases morale. A bug?
Hey Andy! can you tell me why the AI wants to donate me if I do Legitimacy Support all its points? I don't understand, I lose immersiveness, why would they want to donate it to me since they used it as a means for civil war? It doesn't make sense...
Which major faction would you recommend for beginners? I heard that the difficulty rating is not accurate and some "easy" factions like Ramesses are actually hard.
I agree with Frank about Amenmesse, you start in a relatively good location with secured flanks after taking out only a few regions, you very quickly get in control of a ton of excellent gold producing provinces, and you have access to the best archer units in the entire game. Even the very early on Kushite bow mercenaries are spectacular for very early game, and are even viable all the way up into mid-late once they hit rank 9, and they're EXTREMELY forgiving in terms of resource upkeep. Once you discover "Set" as a god, if you decide to worship Set, the shrines add +3 ammunition on recruitment, so you can build 4 Set shrines in a recruitment focused province and have archers with +12 arrows for the rest of the game, it's nuts what you can do with top tier missile infantry with 35+ arrows over the course of a battle.
@@nobblkpraetorian5623 playing as troy seems to be very easy as you start as the wanax of the aegean already and you get 3 generals at start (priam, hector , and paris) with a very robust roster while agamemnon is also pretty great so yeah go ahead
I do random diplomacy here and there and ended up becoming the pharaoh lmao. Does anyone know why if you demand enough legitimacy that the deal would just be positive? Like some AI don't even want to become the Pharaoh or faction leader lol
Is it me or in every save almost every faction even across the map declares war at turn 5. I tried other settings and factions yet it keeps happening. ALSO outposts are annoying more than ever. Every time a random 1 general without army goes into your terretory and raze everything yet marches away out of reach lol
I am disappointed still that they have not carried over a simple coop turn function like they had in Shogun 2. Being unable to do any of the rich economic and dynasty features on the off turn makes for very slow multiplayer campaigns. I did not need a repeat of Warhammer 3 but this oversight gets rid of my replay value when playing with friends.
Why does it look like a DLC for Troy just because it's visually similar and because they reused some content from Troy to make the map bigger? Are Warhammer 2 and Warhammer 3 just DLC's of Warhammer 1 too then because they reuse the WH1 map and factions? What they did here was combine 2 separate games because because that's literally what people asked for, to add Greece/Troy and Mesopotamia to Pharaoh. If you played Pharaoh you would know even before this update it was way already bigger than Troy and definitely way bigger than any regular DLC in terms of size and amount of content. Sure it was more a Saga size game at release but now after the update it's a proper big historical main title and not just a "DLC".
@@lp4514 trust me if people didnt complain then we would pay for troy and Mesopotamia/dynasty update again, thats why they made this dlc free because it only felt like a dlc from the beginning. But you unfortunately cant still see why.
@@LeGarrec Those are two separate things though, I completely agree with you that Pharaoh at it's release felt unfinished and that we definitely would've had to pay for the map expansions that added Greece and Mesopotamia that they now added for free if people wouldn't have complained about it. I'm not denying that CA made some really bad and questionable decisions there in the past. But that still doesn't mean Pharaoh is just the size or quality of a Troy DLC, even at release it felt like it's own separate game, the problem was just that part of the content was missing that would've made it a proper main title, so it felt more like a small Saga game, but as I said now that they added Greece and Mesopotamia (even if they were most likely planned to be paid DLC's for Pharaoh in the beginning) for free to the base game it is a complete and proper main title, it just took some time.
