it's really cool to see another classic coaster getting saved from the scrap yard. especially considering how bad of a condition it was in before you can really see the Ride looks to be in very good condition now. Also the trains that are being used on the ride are the original trains from the now defunct Mindbender at Galaxyland mall.
@djavatar68 the previous place in Mexico where this was let it go to waste...the trims were shut off and it was running so fast they wobbled...unfortunately that caused the accident. Now it is safe and running properly.
@haydfors I saw lots of reports this year of extended downtime for Locosumo and Cornball. I remember Hoosier Hurricane having a long period of downtime in the recent past too. And some other staffing issues I think too. I'm pulling for them.
When I visited in 22 it was still being worked on but was fully assembled also....I saw a huss condor in the one are and hope they put that up....like on the lake would be amazing.
it’s definitely trimmed more than in mexico (understandably) so i can officially say that the coasters with 6g’s are extinct unless there will be trimless events for this ride. looks like a great ride and i hope to ride it someday!
Great job IB! But here comes the quick question. Can you please take a break from ride additions for a bit to instead fix your park? I went there recently and the only ride there that wasn't extremely rough was Steel Hawg. Hopefully soon I can go over and ride All American Triple Loop!
While part of me is gutted that you're using the trims on the run up to the drop into the third loop - which will make that insane second half a lot tamer - I can understand that decision. The way they ran it in Mexico, with no trims at all, was NUTS. Most people were once-and-done and only a handful of us die-hards went back for seconds. And thirds. And sixths. I didn't even care that I couldn't turn my head the next day and that everything in my body was sore...
Parks keep doing this shit and it pisses me off. Duck taping a gopro to the front of the train is not only cheaper than buying a 3D camera, it also gives you BETTER POVS
As people said it’s cold in Indiana, but also the trains are bigger, bulkier and heavier than the classic schwarzkopf trains since it’s a custom Schwarzkopf train designed for mindbender which was much larger and more intense
Construction and everything takes it time, especially with smaller theme parks that aren't a major chain like Disney or Six Flags. They need to make sure everything is built right and built safely because you can't open an incomplete ride/unsafe ride and then something bad happens.
Shame they completely neutered the second lift. It wasn't supposed to run as fast as it did in Mexico, but it's designed to go a lot faster than a normal lift hill. And I hate the trains. Still excited for it to finally open though!
They have the original trains onsite and it’s a shame they didn’t use it. But it’ll likely run faster than pictured here as I’m pretty sure this is one of the first cycles. In addition, it’s November and has been rather cold lately. I imagine summer heat and more break in time will result in a much faster ride.
@@gopernoperstrains3160 yeah that's very true, it's pretty cold in that part of the world at the moment from what I can gather. I'm glad they didn't use the old train, it was a complete frankenstein job of mismatched parts (even before it left the UK). However I feel that the OTSRs on the new trains were a terrible, terrible mistake. This is a very violent ride in places and even with just the lapbar and 5 point harness that it used to have it would absolutely wreck your shoulders. I distinctly remember being thrown so violently to the right after the last MCBR that I hit my head on the opposite side of the train. That's gonna be much worse with an over the shoulder restraint for sure.
I live in Indiana. And yes as yall are saying it is pretty cold up here right now. Thats the problem why its running so slow. And I agree the OTSR are gonna be awful
@@bigmuffexpress I should have clarified, I was hoping the original trains would be refurbished/rebuilt to factory spec. I've heard similar stories about the OTSR's on these and I hope that it doesn't degrade the experience. Regardless I'll be there to ride it when it opens and hopefully it's as good as I'm expecting
@@bigmuffexpressyeah the OTSR’s suck, and it’s all galaxylands fault of it, after the mindbender accident they wanted to add the OTSRs and seatbelts for safety With the updated trains they got from Schwarzkopf, they should of just added a seatbelt and that’s it. When on mindbender with those OTSRs you got a bit of head banging but not too too much, with all American triple loop, I’m guessing a lot more head banging especially because it’s more compact and the track work is much much worse than mindbender. And also another reason probably it’s running slower is that the trains are bigger, bulkier and heavier than the classic Schwarzkopf trains.
How fast you think it supposed to be? Under 40 then there's no way it is getting over the first loop, under 45 then you wouldn't make it up the hill after the first 2 loops. It's probably a bit above 50 mph like it's always been.
Congratulations IB for getting this ride back in shape! It looks great.

Glad Indiana Beach was able to save this classic! Hope to be up there to ride it soon!
Looks amazing no wobbly loops ha. The speed is perfect glad to see this taken care of and running once again
I wonder how they fixed the wobbly loop problem?

I will be there when this opens for my first Indiana Beach visit! Hoping for a 2024 enthusiast event with all the coasters running!
Do they not usually run all the coasters?

So that’s also the Condor was installed in Mexico City.
@moelectric oooohhh it makes sense. Great info thanks
I feel like in a way, this could be my way of getting on mindbender
Same trains from mindbender. Same style layout
Shorter than Mindbender, but still pulls the same g forces
They're distant cousins, maybe. Some of the same genes, but distinctly different personalities. Mindbender was the jock, Quimera was the bully.
To this day my favorite coaster is and will always be Carowinds " White Lightnin' " Gone way too soon.
Big Congrats to Mr. Staples and Crew!!!!!!!!!!!!!............Thanks !
Wow! It's finally testing! Hopefully it's opened in 2024!

Don’t forget the one in gold reef city that has 6.2 G’s I believe
I don't know if it's trimmed more or if just 3 cars rather that the original 5 cars means less mass and therefore less inertia
@@Thelightning1outthey reprofiled the drop on that coaster. It only pulls like 4 something now
@@coolminer6242 oh
These are Mindbender's cars. Being all front cars they can handle more, but I think they'd rather keep that margin of safety.
I'll drive to Indiana Beach this weekend if I can make ride it as my last coaster credit of 2023.

5.6 g’s right??? I’ve been watching the progress (and delays) both in person and online. I look forward to riding this in 2024.
it’s going to be running slower than others due to its history and indiana beach visitor numbers
It’s 6.1 G’s according to coasterpedia
This is proof that Schwarzkopf never dies!
Es actuación estaba en la feria de Chapultepec y los gringos como siempre no nos quitó la actuación 😢
How unwatchable do you want the POV to be?

Why is it facing away from the park?
this is sick
I'm a bit surprised they kept the tire drive lift system. The chain is far more reliable.

I cannot believe my eyes

Hey, Intamin used the same music in their video!

Would it kill parks to make regular POV’s? This is borderline unwatchable

They're using the trims on the run up before the dive into the third loop. That's going to kill all the intensity of that second half.
Why was this not open when I was there last June liks you said it would be.
Because it wasn’t ready? Why else would they not open it? Delayed ride openings have been a regular thing post-covid with all the shipping delays.
