You're freaking out over a little silver? Not necessary. You cut behind the gills to bleed where the heart is no reason to ever cut the tail. Also no reason ever to use a leader on a rotator or buzzbomb.
You don’t need a leader, but having a dual lock and pretied leaders on a swivel makes it really easy to swap colors and sizes without having to retie. Might have to pull off a little more seaweed here and there, but worth it for the versatility. Just my two cents.
