Looks like a great day, next time you should take a net and try to keep them from beating themselves on the rocks and also try not kicking them. Survivability of most caught fish is about 40% handling them properly will increase their survival rate. Tight lines.
Love this. I'm an old guy now but I grew up spending a lot of time on Lagoon Point just north of that spot where I'd beach fish for salmon every chance I got. Love that area. You guys are a cute family and it's great to see you out there doing this. All the best...
Good video and nice to see you take the family out. As others mentioned, it's important to handle the fish properly if being released. Consider some hip waders, it will allow you to get out a bit further for casting and also makes it easier to unhook and release the fish without bringing them on shore. Great job and thanks for sharing!
Great fishing and a great video ! - Good that you mentioned the location to help other people ( it is a public place anyway) - Great to see you let go the small ones, please handle them with care next time so they live and grow big! Enjoy fishing WA !
LOL, that is NOT Bush's Point, but I know why you said that it was. I caught my last salmon before moving to FL about 200' up the beach from where you guys are. The two others I was with caught their limit there in 10 minutes, meanwhile it took me five hours. It's also a spot that I have seen more orca's than anywhere else on Whidbey. The tree that you guys are near I have a scar from climbing over in wet shoes, and falling. You are definitely in one of the two best spots on Whidbey Island for all types of salmon.......but it's not where you said it was! I wish they would fix that staircase! Great video, and you made me "homesick".
@@folkwoodco.1678 if I was to be honest I gave it away with what I said. The staircase needs to be fixed there and that's the big giveaway. I will mention that he's actually north of bush point. The other place that's really good for salmon fishing is the Navy base but you have to have access
@@slavsfishing4390 You are a good and humble man..The Lord bless you greatly..A beautiful family you have..If your ever in Sequim Washington area this old man would love to go fishing with you..As I dont drive and have extra beds..
I appreciate you acknowledging that Slav. I'll give them a boot up the bank to keep it but not to release it. If they're bleeding they pretty much always die. Very fragile and sensitive they are. hi guys you seen to be nice people! but please treat that fish with a little more respect! read the manual rules of how to handle fish when you are fishing, im learning to and i have lose a few good ones while i was following the rules, but i prefer that then kick them or take them out of the water before i see, if! i'm going to keep them or not, please be aware that we all love fishing let's not make law's harder on fisher people! and i love that you guys take you kid with you, another possible fisherman.
Cool vid, bud. Myself, along with about 37 buddies are going to that exact spot to fish it out for the next year or so. Also, great fish handling techniques, you absolute turd. That fish was bleeding and likely died because you wanted a bigger one.
Yeah, this is nonsense... I was being kicked out for being the "new guy" on Edmonds pier while fishing for salmon with my son. I wasn't bothering anyone and plenty of open pier to go around, but selfishness is a mother f**ker here in Washington.
Just a big head's up... don't give out actual spots... just name the area or don't even mention where u are... unless you want that spot to be packed after a while.... giving out fishing spots on a video is one thing but to tell them how to find the EXACT spot isn't a good idea... one fisherman to another
I use to have a spot that no one went to... showed a couple people... they showed a couple and they showed a couple.. now you can't fish there unless u get there the night before and hold your spot...its just not a good idea... showing people how to catch is ok but let them find their own spot..lol.
Dude!! Good video but have some decency. The chances of those fish surviving is basically like 0%. But a net, quit dragging your catch across the docks and stop kicking them.

He might as well keep it it was going to die anyways with how it was bleeding

I literally came to this spot because of the video and caught my first salmon last year.
what time of year is a good time?
Bush point or area 9 closed in September

I pretty sure that bush point or area 9 is closed for salmon fishing. It closed September 30
Usually takes me a week or so to edit/upload videos. I'm sure they were fishing before it closed.
He is hooked in the gills, don't let him go next time.
You did it.

1st fish was bleeding and you kicked it (both fish kicked) You should learn the rules on salmon release amd handling.
You know what? You are totally right about that. I was thinking about it and felt pretty bad for doing that.

Great video bro keep up the good work!
Nice family
Thats not Bush Point, and you potentially RUINED that spot. Its one of the lowkey holes where you can get away from the combat that is bush point
Great video friend
Try to not harm the released fish like that by flipping them around on the bank. Either get some boots to keep them in the water and/or a net.
Similar to my favorite spot in California. Fish on! 👍🏽🙏🎣⚒️
Great video thanks

Your the same mask monitor in Walmart yelling at old people to put the freak-n mask on!!!
Chill?
Asking him to be gentler in the future is sufficient! No need to call people name, u rude human!
Your right to call this guy out for horrible fish handling. Also quit telling everyone where you go.

I live on the pilchuck. I gets mine
Don’t touch a fishing pole again
Agreed he is scared of touching a fish and setting it in the water
You singlehandedly destroyed this spot. All you had to do was not mention the name. It was 1 maybe 2 people for years and now its absolutely loaded
The way you handle fish is awful.
You might want to learn how to release fish
PLEASE DON’KICK THE FISH
HANDLE WITH CARE
Spots blown
lol if that salmon is going to spawn this year, I have bad news for you.... its not going to grow

Stop telling everyone about whidbeys spots!

Thats not how you release fish.
True. It would have been better to drop kick back into the water. Sam result.
