    Ethics is what acceptable and unacceptable behavior of a person---based on the society laws or what. While, Morals is the conscience or what is good and right for a person. Am I right?

    • @PHILOnotes
      @PHILOnotes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Formally defined, Ethics is the morality of human actions, while Morality refers to the rightness or wrongness of human acts. Hence, Morals does not have to be exclusively associated with conscience.

    • @marioserpico2223

      Yes. Or another view could be...
      Morality is "how" we do things, while Ethics is "what" we do it for... Am I right?

    but it is said that morals are personal choice of what we feel. is it ?

    • @PHILOnotes
      @PHILOnotes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi GATE Mechster, many thanks for your comments. But please note that morals is not a matter of personal choice. Ethical relativism is a very weak argument. We cannot just do whatever we want to do. There are rules to follow; hence, morality or Ethics is most of the time normative.

    • @PHILOnotes

      In Christian Ethics, the source of morality of the Natural Law. In Kantian Ethics, the Categorical Imperative. In Utilitarianism, it's the greatest benefits principle. I don't exactly know what you mean by "morality is our own principles Is it right".
