Thank you Ginny!!! Does it mean that we have until Oct 16th to file federal tax and until May 15 to file California state tax? Do we need to appy for the extension or is it automatically extended? I am sorry, but I am so bad at this stuff. Just wanted to make sure.

As announced by Governor Newsom, California individuals and businesses impacted by 2022-23 winter storms qualify for an extension to file and pay taxes until October 16, 2023. This was expected because FTB follows the IRS guidelines typically,
