I am one of your TH-cam subscriber who love your education videos. I live in Lathrop City in California (San Joaquin County) May I know which licenses, permits, and tax registrations my entity/firm needs to obtain. Do I need business license for my City and county? I am planning to sell coffee with drop-ship program and baked goods (Cookies) and Shortbread baked fresh from our own home. Do I also need commercial kitchen or inspection require for baking cookies and shortbread at home? Please reply me back. Thanks.
I collect both in person cash payments and website payments, which the website remits the sales tax to the CA state for me. So, do I have to report the website sales in addition to in-person cash sales to the state; since I'm only paying the CDTFA sales tax for the cash transactions?

Question about the seller's permit - what if you bought merchandize from a 3rd party wholesaler but you did not make any sales. I dissolved the dba which I was intending to use the merchandize for and relaunched as an llc. Do I owe sales tax on the merchandize that I'm holding? Lastly, do I need to dissolve this sellers permit and reapply to a new one for the new llc?
I’m wondering. If you buy material in one city. They would usually charge u their tax rate. So if u sell it outside the same city and the tax rate is different. Do u have to pay that tax rate? Or can u just look at purchased materials in one month and pay tax based on the amount of material u purchased ?
if ubereats collects and pays taxes for us for sales on their platform, do we still have to report this income when filing sales taxes quarterly for restaurant and other third party? and how do we show it on filling without paying sales tax for ubereats since it has already been paid for us?? i have been struggling with that. You would not hold a seller's permit. You are not selling goods, you are providing a service of delivery of another company's goods. You are however required to pay income taxes and claim your 1099 income on your income taxes
Hello Ginny, Thank you for clarifying so many things for me. I have one question that was not covered. I am a self-employed artist with mostly digital (non-tangible) sales working out of L.A.. I did, however, sell 4 pieces of art as tangible goods. So, based on your description, I need a sellers permit. However, I'm wondering is there a dollar threshold below which I don't need one? like if I only sold one tangible good? Thanks, Scott
Hi! Very welcome - No dollar limit for a seller's permit - you technically should have one if you are planning on making any tangible sales at all but the language also states 3 or more sales in a 12 month period, so they contradict themselves a bit.

You would be delinquent in your tax payment and obligated to file them. Same procedure, create an account, file, pay the late fees

Yes you would owe use tax paid on the same return as sales tax. Yes you would need to close your seller apermit account.
