Hello again, loyal fans of Historia Bygone, in the next episode about the Hussars of the Republic of Poland. This is a continuation of the story that began with the episode where the Hussars clashed with the Swedes near Kiesia. So the Commonwealth is still at war. We start with the preparation of a military response to the Swedish aggression, where I also raise the geopolitical issue of the immediate surroundings of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In addition, I will describe the situation in Livonia itself in the ranks of the Polish army just before the Battle of Kokenhausen, also in the camp of our enemies at that time.
Step by step, we will move from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to Lithuania, to Vilnius, and finally to the then besieged city of Koknese, where the Polish Hussars will once again play a decisive role in the most important moment of the battle. You will look at the map and the exact course of those events.
I will also tell you about the shameful deeds and disastrous consequences after the battle itself, which in fact continued many times during these struggles, which probably divided our very wonderful commanders of the Polish Hussars.
