Going crazy, uninstalling each and every other game that we have, counting the days left, not finding meaning in anything around, refreshing the official social media pages, rewatching every video relsesed...that is what we are doing until we arrive at Hogwarts!
We are merlins last apprentice. Magically and tragically frozen in time until released in the 1890s. For safety, disguise and to familiarize ourselves to modern magic, we are brought to hogwarts.
Maybe Merlin had seen into the future and known that we would be needed. Maybe he purposely put us into a type of cryogenic sleep with magical crystal. The thing with that is that we would have to be kept and stored somewhere until the proper time came about for us to wake up.
A small detail that I find weird is that we can see Thestrals yet the carriages still "drive themselves" heading into Hogwarts. Unless we see the death after our enrollment
Well we can see death and not see thestrals, you have to grieve and have a understanding of death to see thestrals so it’s still possible we saw death before school

Well, are _all_ "self-driving" carriages _necessarily_ pulled by thestrals? Very few who can't already see thestrals seem to think it's weird or impossible to build and enchant a vehicle that can go where you tell it without the aid of an engine or draft animal.
I think I have the right theory of why we will be entrying in 5th year. We see in the trailer that we are no newbies to magic, probably cause we were taught by our parents at home (we have seen other cases in the lore e.g Isolde). Somehow our parents die (reason why we can see thestrals) and since now we are orphans we have to attend to Hogwarts like Tom Riddle.
Been preparing by ordering some leds to match my house color (green), a new tv, looking into getting a new console xbox or ps5, and getting some butterscotch essential oil to get the butter beer smell in my room!! So close

The only thing I care about is the ability to actually join the goblins if I choose. If it is one of those 'they are trying to recruit you' but you have to follow a linear story fighting them, ehhh.
For sure something particular and unusual happened... We could either be from another school... Goblins are interested in our Power for sure... I think we went London, diagon alley, where gringott Is, with professor fig, and we bought things for school... Then we find ranrock and After the Battle we are not in time to get on the Hogwarts express... This Is why we arrive alone by flying chart
Would be great if there are multiple origins to choose from that give different bonuses, like saying your parents were Pure Blood Nobles or Half-Blood Herbalists, for example. As for what's going on at the beginning of the game, I suspect we'll actually have a good chunk of story prior to arriving at Hogwarts, just like the Harry Potter books often had. My guess is that the overall narrative will begin in August and end in June, and then there will be two sequel games covering Sixth and Seventh years. As for the thestrals being visible in some scenes but invisible in others, I'm guessing either the death we witness happens after the start of the game, or it might have to do with alternate origins and branching storylines in which we may or may not have witnessed death yet depending on our choices. That would also explain why there are people with you in the carriage at one point but then you are alone, unless they were dropped off at Hogsmeade. I imagine there will be a lot of options to build or destroy relationships with various characters, so exactly what we experience may vary wildly between playthroughs.
.......while I could be wrong I THINK the main character is from the UK/EU area but they weren't seemingly going to hogwarts already. I don't get the feeling they were attending a different school and I think they are aware of the magical world so it leads me to believe 1 of 2 things. 1 is the main character was essentially home schooled up until the start of the game for various reasons, where he is then sent to Hogwarts in response to the events at the beginning of the game.........or 2 (and i'm hoping this is the case) the main character is a squib (if i have the terminology right) someone born into the magical world but having no magical ability. However the events of the start of the game, suddenly imbue them with magical ability and he is sent to Hogwarts to fast track his magical learning now that he has suddenly come into his magic powers.
I think it would be good to have back story options. Like attended another school and had to flee, homeschooled and then sent to hogwarts for safety as it would include players from different coubtries
While I think it is very insightful to consider the clothing worn to try to place events, I think much of what we see probably took place after he arrived in hogwarts. I would assume no more than 30 minutes of gameplay would take place before we get to hogwarts. However, once we get there, there is no reason why we would not wear that thick coat when we go out to explore.
You think we’ll have a set surname? So the teachers can yell Mr./Ms at us and address is like that? Also people can call us by name while letting us decide our first name. Like Shepard in mass effect.
I would be very surprised if the background story of our character turns out to be very well thought out ! Because J.K. Rowling, herself, didn't come up with very good ideas about what took place before Harry Potter. The fact that she used "Fantastic Beasts" and Newt Scamander to talk about Dumbledore's past was already far-fetched. This idea just turned out to be an obvious excuse to make more juicy films. I wish that she came up with actual books but she's running out of a good hero (and a good story) to place in the wizarding world. Let's hope Avalanche and Warner Bros will succeed in trying something new !
I think the story is just over, and the Fantastic Beasts would’ve been much better if they were books. The first movie wasn’t so bad, the third one was meh, the second one was flat out bad but hey there’s Johnny Depp! I have high hopes for this game.
i got a theory. I think were Proffser fig apprentence, we were chosen by him to be train in magic. The scene with the broke bridge will lead us to a powerful magic that it the trailier showed us. The Mirror showed us the location we have to go to found the clue to this mystery, which is in gringotts. We go to Gringotts to founld this clue untill the goblin in the trailer tell us the magic is his. That when in the trailer fig fights the goblin and the goblin defeats him, That when we unleashed a powerful spell of this ancient magic that we have the abity to use to save proffessor fig. The goblin now defeat runs away release that he needs us to use this magic (making the goblin pretty much are Voldmort). After getting the clue fig sign us up to go to hogwarts not just for learning magic but to protect us from that goblin who attack us. Why did you when the goblin said "you get the chiled with the distraction". were that child the goblin want. This game will proabbly be choice of being loyal to fig or the Goblin.

What if we get attacked by both goblins/Dark witches & wizards They torture and kill out family that's how we see thestrals, but what of the first plays out like kingdom come deliverance the first part of that game is called "run" you literally csnt fight you just have to move we can't do anything to save our family ( though I very much hope we get an opportunity to do save them) Say we run and dodge curses of all sorts while being hunted by our laughing foes. I think we may go to the shops first, tailors, school supplies, wand etc then head to Gringotts where we encounter ranrok but escape. That seaside broken bridge part looks like something further in to the game could be wrong on that. I'm also hoping Figg isn't waiting for us to build power so he can take whatever it is for himself and he's just letting us use the ROR as a linchpin to gain our loyalty and trust that scene of Figg using Reparo is very similar to DD Thanks for the video and have a nice day 🙂👍
No no no no NO I object, I object STRONGLY SIR. We HAVE to have a wand choosing sequence... Although...your theory does make sense combined with being able to connect our account and pass along our wand from WizardingWorld, still though, what about the people that don't connect their account? Will they just receive a generic wand? Great video all in all, but I don't think our character will have known they were magical before going to Hogwarts, not only would it not make much sense, it would be very disappointing to me as I am with the classic "didn't know they were special" trope from books, movies, and series.
That whole wand thing is one of the biggest questions I have. To be consistent they need to do the same thing so if we link our wand we go to the wand shop and already know what we are getting?? That’s lame!

And yes that WOULD be lame, but it's precisely what I think will happen if you connect your account, again lame, but if you don't, then would you go through the Ollivander's experience? And can you still choose not to import your wand and go through the wand choosing if you do connect your account in order to get the house robes and mask?

@@NightlyNerd_ yea, essentially the ability to create custom faces and body types. But id be satisfied and happy with just faces. Its just not possible to recreate yourself or a character you already have in mind in this game, which is a bummer to me. I think the main appeal to me was the idea of putting myself or an OC into this universe, and im just surprised more people dont feel similarly. I feel like only being able to change the hairstyle and skin tone is not enough for me to create a truly custom character i can become invested in, its always going to feel pre-made. And at that point id almost rather them just give us actual premade characters with their own backstories and gameplay, this halfway point of not giving the character any personality but not enabling the player to really make up their own character either is not satisfying to me. But maybe im in the minority and most people dont take the role play element that seriously and just care about the gameplay itself.

I think we are going to the ruins to get something for the guy that is protected by ancient magic so that would be an accomplishment after having been to gringot to test our power but were interrupted by the goblins so we had to try again elsewhere
For a while now, I've thought maybe our character is an orphan. That would mean our parents were dead and could explain us seeing Thestrals. Maybe we could be living at a British boarding school when Professor Fig comes to find us and give us our letter. Maybe a good lead in to the character creation process would be to see our character getting up out of bed and moving to stand in front of a mirror. Maybe part of the process is picking an outfit to wear, so that our character could look different clothing wise from the one in the State of Play footage. That is, unless our outfit is the boarding school uniform. Fig could come to take us to Gringott's to get money for school supplies and then we run into Ranrok and everything goes haywire, so we need to escape. Taken to Hogwarts with Professor Fig after that escape.
before i watch what i think happens before the game start is were in a diff wizard school and get transfer to hogwarts for probably the ancient magic wielding.. altho im not a huge harry potter fan so yehh xD take it with a grain of salt :D
Is Professor Figg supposed to be Ms. Figg's Grandfather? That could open up the whole squib aspect and maybe your character is just a late bloomer and not a squib
And also note her name is MRS. Fig not MISS Figg. So even if Professor Fig was related to Mrs Figg it would be though her late husband's side, then her side
In order for a story to work you need someway to seperate the hero/heroine from their parents in order to let them go on a hero's journey. There's only are 2 ways: 1)orphan is the easiest solution or 2)have some kind of accident happen which separates (but doesn't kill off the parents) them from the Hero/heorine.

There's only are 2 ways: 1)orphan is the easiest solution or 2)have some kind of accident happen which separates (but doesn't kill off the parents) them from the Hero/heorine.
