Here's a trick for getting better traits for your gear. Just save before you open the chest in the Camps. If you open a level 1 or 2 just re load your last save and keep opening until you get a level 3. 😊😊 You're welcome
The Demiguise tip is the best thing I’ve heard I wish I would’ve read that a few weeks ago I finished with level one and I can’t say how many doors I had to walk past.
One more useful tip I haven't seen anyone mentioning is to ask for a reward when completing side quests. The dialogue choices come off a bit rude but when you actually choose to go that way the NPCs handle it pretty well and they usually give you 500 Galleons. I never had any NPC complaining about me asking for some compensation for the troubles I went through to get their s#!t. So feel free to demand what you deserve :)
Actually, Olivander's does. I asked for a reward and he said he "wasn't happy about it, but here you go". Not verbatim obviously, I don't remember his exact response. But you're right, most people are very accepting of it, like, "of course, you're absolutely right". That said, with these rewards, with the Disillusionment chests, with selling all the piles of gear you accrue just playing the game, with selling magical beasts even casually. I have more money than I know what to do with.
something I learned about 20 hours in was if you use Revelio while on your broom it's range is GREATLY increased and you can see map location markers while just flying around
I'm a 28 year old blue collar welder with a wife. Haven't gotten this immersed in a game since skyrim in 2011. I'm absolutely invested in this game. Fantastic job by the creators.
@@chaderopla Funny you should say that, got my wife to play and now I think she is into it more than I am. Long story but I do feel lucky. One small tip from myself - when you collect butterflies with Lumos for Merlin's trial you can collect every set of them at once and then light up each of butterfly attracting Stone. For most of my playthrough I did one at the time lol
I didn’t know this at all. I’ve been doing them one at a time cause I didn’t think multiple moths would hang around my wand and thought they were like the moth paintings.

My clothing traits are now allowing my Chinese cabbages to do 3,000 points of damage a bite :) I can go into a chamber with two trolls, release two cabbages, and they finish the trolls in about 3-4 rounds of combat. I never even have to throw up protego.
I've used the Mandrakes and Tentacula, but I've been neglecting the cabbages. I'll have to try those next time I get into a fight if they can do that kind of damage.
For the curious: You can’t “Learn Unforgivable Curses Early On”. Sebastian’s quests are tied to the main story. Even if you get to the requisite levels for unlocking each Unforgivable, you will not be able to unlock until you’ve reached certain points in the story. Avada Kedavra is unlocked 2 or 3 quests from the final quest.
Animals in your vivarium. If you set up a beast feeder you usually do NOT have to feed them separately to get items from them - just groom them, they feed themselves. Saves time.
@@alwaysdisputin9930 mine always feed themselves eventually, it's just they have to wait in line so sometimes it's just quicker to feed the stragglers yourself.
@@joelgrebinsilvestri Just one. You will then be able to conjure it as many times as you wish - one feeder per vivarium will be all you need to conjure.
For the merlin trials where you have to parkour across stones to activate them, you can fly across them on your broom and it still counts. Just don't touch another surface in-between stones
@@FitzyyLives I don't disagree lol especially whilst flying but I did have a couple that wouldn't let me fly across for and that may have just been a thing where the game was being glitchy tbh
As an extra note for the the Merlin trials, if you find you can't complete a Merlin trial that very second - there were more than a few times I needed a spell I didn't have yet, due to me being an exploration nut and trying to explore a lot of the map relatively early on - do know that once you use the Mallowseet, the Merlin trial is permanently activated from that moment on. So you don't have to get more Mallowseet and come back to activate it again, it'll just be ready for you to go and solve. Still should always have some on you for when you come across it, but a good tip to know.
Main tip for any and everyone is to take your time while playing. Explore everything. This is something I’m doing in my second run through because I was just so eager to play the first time around. Exploring will help you level up faster IMO, it did for me and by the time I went to the main quests I was 3-4 levels ahead, so any gear I was rewarded I just sold for the money to obtain better gear.
I tried the curses, but have found that nothing beats turning one lesser enemy into an explosive barrel and then throwing that barrel at another opponent.
Yeah but putting talents into dark arts and cursing a bunch of enemies and using avada kedavra to kill all of them at once and vampire their life is kind of awesome
@Sigreid I can cast 16 dif spells without having to open up any kind of pause menu and even then the spell switcher menu pauses but doesn't take you out of the game. Yeah they did fantastic
If you listen to deeks dialogue, he clearly suggests selling beasts to brood and peck that you don't have room for as they will "find good homes for them". So it's not poaching. Selling beasts.
@@gamingwithmars5420 so often animals are sold to what could perceivably be labeled as a “loving home.” I’m sure there are plenty of PetSmart customer service employees that would disagree😅
It's amazing how different of a path you can take in this game. I am surprised you only have 3 house tokens, but you are messing with beasts. I haven't even unlocked beasts yet, but I have completed a lot of things that a lot of people haven't by that point.
I wish they can add a feature to show what you have completed on the map, like if you clear out a camp or finished all missions in a town a small checkmark will appear next to it or change the icon to green. That would help understand so much better of what we have done
Yeah something similar to what you get when you clear the bandit camps would be nice but I do like the green logo idea. I also though of a gold outer boarder when you have 100% completed an areas quest and collectables.
As far as I know certain locations do have a check mark. And other locations such as treasure vaults or merlin trials etc. disappear from the map when completed.
If you zoom out on the map, it tells you how many collectibles you have for the area, downside, it does not mention how many butterflies you have left and they aren't counted as collection chests. I had 12 out of 15 Butterflies, and it took me SO LONG to figure out which I was missing.
7:58 if you don't want to learn the Unforgiveables during your main quest but then want to unlock them in the post game, you can find Sebastian in the undercroft after the credits and he will teach you any of the Unforgiveables if you didn't ask him to teach you the first time around. I didn't learn Avada Kedavra at the time as it seemed kind of.........inappropriate at the moment, but then learned it after I completed the main game.
Really?! That would be wonderful because I first refused to learn them (am a good Hufflepuff) but now I want to collect all the trophies without starting a new character that soon.
@@KurwaUnited You don't need any of the curses or dark arts at all for any achievements other than the one for all battle arenas if you have the deluxe edition with the dark arts arena, then you have to do that arena, which automatically gives you the curses during it if you don't have them. Similarly, since that arena gives an appearance, you also need to do that arena for the all collections achievement. The learn all spells achievement only counts spells, not curses. Though you will have to create 3 other characters and play about 2hrs on each to get the achievements for each house getting to the map chamber.
What you are saying makes sense, but most of these quests aren't available until late in the game. The Alohomora questline is something that becomes available a good 5-6 hours after you start, if you hurry. Avada Kedavra is super endgame, the Room of Requirement is also at least 8 to 10 hours in, so it's still going to be quite late.
@@pc6054 Depends on how you do your quests. Even if you only do the main questline it'll take quite a while before you get to the important things in game.
@@AlucardsBlood69 I've done the full 100% clear with all achievements and I really, really slacked and I did it in 60 hours, including times where I left the game running w/o playing. It's pretty short. It could be improved and expanded for sure.
@@AlucardsBlood69 100 seem a bit far fetched, I finished the game with ~70 hours of playtime and I spent quiet a while just flying around and exploring kinda every cave. Arguably I am still missig like 5 merlin tasks because at some point I couldn't be bothered to do them but I don't think what is left would be enough to fill 30 hours and I probably wouldn't really consider that 'content' either.
In case someone doesn't know this, Avada Kedavra can be "missed" in the story if your dialogue responses are negative toward learning it but you can get Sebastian to teach you in the Undercroft after his quest is finished.
you can actually deny learning all of the curses, but I think it's rather obvious by the dialogue choices. I kinda stopped using them though and decided to not use them at all in my 2nd playthrough, they feel kinda like cheats maybe nice if you are really bad at fighting but generally speaking your ancient magic is already super strong anyway + potions and plants are pretty strong too but are tbh more fun to use than the cheatish fordbidden curses. The final fights were still way too easy with decent gear that had the dmg buff for my ancient magic, basically 2 shot the end bosses and with up to 5 charges available that felt a bit cheat ish already lol.
One tip about the Wiggenweld potions on the Hopping Pots, if you're full, you can destroy the pots and replace them. The potion production will restart.
@@GenericAnonymity It's not possible to tell a Hopping Pot to destroy the potion. The quickest method is to just drink 1 potion so that you're not full
Being an above average gamer (meaning I just play games a lot more than the average person) I found most the game pretty easy to figure out pretty quick from literally just playing because the game tends to help you out a lot along the way in minor ways (even if you are stuck during a puzzle usually the character will saying something along the lines of a hint), but for the average or less than average gamer I can see how this video could be very helpful to others and it was indeed a well made video. Side notes I would say that are also useful but less general and more "fine-tuned" details would be - -Moonstone is extremely available in the open world so I'd actually suggest NOT getting the moonstone production tables to save the money and resources for other things in the RoR. Not to mention every time you open up a new part to the RoR more stuff appears for you to convert into moonstone (paintings, mirrors, etc..) so it is pretty hard to never have enough Moonstone, unless you just never collect moonstone in the open world. -Pretty much every "Challenge" (i.e. collection stuff, merlin trials, etc...) has MORE than enough locations available to finish all the challenges and have plenty left over that aren't needed (except for 100% completion for those that want to Platinum the game). -For the Demiguise things, when you enter a location (house, room, w/e) your character will literally say there is one nearby. The quote changes based on it is night or day. Night he says "Mine now Demiguise" meaning it is night time and you can collect. I forget the daytime quote but basically says its there but "have to wait for night" in different words. -For Alohomora it is not extremely crucial to level it, but it does open up a LOT of stuff (loot, money, more demiguise, collections, some story quests will have extra loot along the way DURING the quest, 3 Daedalian Key cabinets to complete house chest for the nifty robes) -The haunted hogsmeade quest that allows you to get your own shop in hogsmeade (which is a pretty fun quest i might add) will allow you to sell gear for a little more than the other vendors in game if you are hurting for money. -Accio can transform itself into Wingardium Leviosa (once you have it learned/unlocked) after casting thereby freeing up a slot on your spell wheel. -Traits can stack for greater effect of whatever it is you want slotted into your armor. -I would argue it is very important to get AT LEAST 1 of EACH time of creature since the OTHER creatures are what you need to gather from to "upgrade your gear" aside from the traits you put into the slots. -I think it would have been useful for explaining that when upgrading gear you have to remember its MAIN STAT won't change, but it adds the opposite stat to the gear. So like the robes have "Defence" stat and upgrading it ADDS "Offence" to it and vice versa with like the gloves giving "Offence" and adding "Defence" to it. This also means when you find new gear, it will show you being either an upgrade or downgrade based on the item's MAIN STAT. -Certain side quests either show up or go away during season changes, or by progessing the main story to unlock more side quests, thought these will all be available in free mode once finishing the main story so you can't miss anything in the game, depending on your personal playthrough. (I've always been one to do all available side quests before progressing main story, but in this game, there are some crucial/helpful things that unlock later in the main story that can be useful for some of the side stuff so play at your own pace). -There is SOOOOOO much loot to find in this game that you have to remember to be constantly selling to clear inventory space to not miss out on loot while in the middle of something so you don't end up deleting a lot of stuff for no reason. The "treasure vaults" more often than not when you are near max level will RARELY give you something good so I would try to do the "treasure vaults" around mid-game (Level 22-28 realistically) since around level 28 or so leveling starts to REALLY slow down and it eventually becomes harder to find the higher end upgrades, so don't let all those vaults go to waste (unless you really need money). -Once you buy the "seeds" for the plant parts and attack plants it is like "learning" it permanently so it is incredibly useful to focus more on buying the crafting stations as early as you can (I know the bigger stations can be pretty costly but there is SO much money available it shouldn't take crazy long to unlock them all) since they will be over greater benefit to you in the long run, but I will say the "random generators" can be pretty useful early on for the rarer stuff, but aren't insanely necessary. Same goes for fertilizer since it only adds 1 to the yeild when plants already give 5 each harvest. -The normal beasts you put into the RoR give 3 resources each BUT the ones you breed (the offspring) give you 5 of said resource. -You can't get every talent, but you get almost all the talents. It is set up this way to basically make a "build" for you characer. Like how you can focus on more of a potion/plant build, or a main core build, or a curse/dark arts build, or great utility for your main spells. Mix it up and have some fun! (I made my hufflepuff a plant user and my ravenclaw heavy spellcaster, then my slytherin was of course mainly dark arts/curse stuff) Sorry for the insanely long post, but I hope this is hepful!! Again, great job on the video!
The thing about moonstone is that most people are pimping out their RoR with decoration, and that's where all the moonstone is being spent. If you are parcimonious with decor, and focus on fitting it out to maximize your stack of herbs and potions you only need minimal amounts of moonstone.
Should be mentioned that the "Haunted Hogsmeade" quest is PlayStation only so that PC/X-Box players aren't wandering around trying to figure out how to start that quest (also, even PS players have to wait til winter for the quest to show up.)
A great video. I have actually taken four characters to level 40 and 100% everything. I really think getting that 5th Ancient Magic slot as soon as possible really helps and to do this you will need to have level three Alohomora, because one (and just one) ancient magic beam is behind a level three lock. So yes, think about Demiguise, Ancient magic and Merlin Trials early on. Important note here, you need to do find the map room and do the first trial to be able to do the Alohomora and Ancient Magic, so concentrate on the Main Quest Line and Assignments when starting out. Oh and has anyone returned the Portrait to the Three Broomsticks? I know I haven't.
So I figured out you can do massive damage by upgrading your clothing with the ancient magic throw. I’ve got 3 pieces of clothing with lvl 3 anxient throw damage and I do 2500-4000 hp per throw. It’s insane.
Some remarks about this. I think learning Alohomora fast can be both a blessing and a curse, because while it is a bit annoying to be in areas where you can't open certain things at the same time it keeps those areas interesting for the future once you learned alohomora, so e.g. walking through the castle will be more fun for a longer duration compared to if you quickly cleared everything. The 2nd are the unforgivables. Everyone should decide for themselfs obviously, but these curses can make the combat rather boring. It can be tempting to use them since you got them, but if you have enjoyed the combat before with the need to break certain shields, counter things, play the mechanics, e.g. stunning trolls or using potions and plants or maybe even having the need to build up your combo to get another charge of ancient magic then you might find battles much more boring if you use the curses as they are way too overpowered just as an example you can imperio a troll in a goblin camp and he will probably kill every single goblin, then after he is done you can just avada kedavra him. Very quick and clean and allows you to progress, but while funny the first time it does get pretty boring and I honestly think many people will regret using the curses too much later on because the fights are honestly getting much easier even without the curses just because of your talents and the buffs to your magic from your gear + extra ancient magic charges.
@LadyMisfit19 ...like every game with a dodge mechanic? Personally found it difficult enough on hard mode. Never died more than 3 times in one area, but it was enough to make enemies feel dangerous. Def not fromsoft level, but idk why you would expect that from this
Nothing stops you from using the regular spells regardless of having access to Unforgivables though. If you are getting bored with the game that's a problem only you can solve.
@@thetoyodacar2264 or why you would want to massacrate yourself to that extent on a game where the most fun you have is exploring the scenario and solving puzzles. Combat is fun as well, and Hard mode is at least challenging enough that you have to properly time dodges and shields, as well as prepare some combos in order to not get trashed all the time. You can't even abuse dodging everywhere because some fghts happen in pretty close quarters and you will have to be patient until an opening appears. But if people really are that put off by how "easy" Hard is, just go get a difficulty mod and enjoy yourselves to death.
You're not gonna learn any spell or have access to anything unless you progress through the story. It's best to play the story first until you have access to the majority of the spells. Also buying a broom is crucial once you take flight class
They should allow us to sell our potions so we don't max Wiggenweld Potions too soon. Or at least allow us to empty the auto-pot so it can randomly generate a new one.
I only needed to take wiggenwelds a handful of times in 80 hours of game play. My slots filled up quickly and I never needed to brew it. Thunderbrew on the other hand is a fun one when you have big group of baddies to fight. My favorite was sneak up, thunderbrew, transfigure a guy into an explosive barrel and then throw him at his friend and they both blow up while their other buddies get struck by lightning.
Adding to the Plants and their Upgrades: The Chinese Chomping Cabbage is I think underrated easily. I first thought, they're not that good, like when you release them mid combat. But you can release them stealthily while under the disillusionment charm and if you pair that with the upgrade for them, you can put down 3 and get 6 chomping cabbages. So many cabbages can solo large enemy groups, they can't really do something about it apparently and it is hillarious to watch!
tbh I played with 4 bars, it's more than enough for any of the strong enemies, so unless you feel the need to use ancient magic on the small mobs in fights you are probably fine with 4 bars. I'd still focus on getting Alohomora 3 though since nothing is more annoying than bascially finishing an area but there is that one house with a level 3 lock...
Don't worry about the unlocking skill. You can wait on it. The chests don't respawn so if you want guaranteed your lvl loot I would wait. You don't get gear from quests only cosmetics, gold and exp.
@azurie580 Comment 1 was about leaving chests around to open them at higher levels to get higher level legendary gear. Opening them up earlier and not caring about how good your gear is would give you access to different looks earlier, so your comment kinda makes no sense
The game is easy in lategame even without the Power3 unforgiving curses so gear doesnt matter. You will gain so many legrndaries in lategame from mobdrops alone. Waiting on chests - which you will forget the locations - will just gimp your early or midgame
@@ForumcoldiArchon most of those chests can be found in hamlets so all you have to do is scour each hamlet and use revelio. You arguably lose a bit more time looking for them in the castle, but again, you just spam revelio and you'll easily know where to go.
@@ForumcoldiArchon This was me. I kept a running list of Legendary Chests that I left for later. I kinda regretted that, because you don't need it anymore in the late game. My advice for the whole game is: just take and do everything as it comes, don't "hold it for later". I did it like this with most things, and really enjoyed it - only the chests I regret, also because looking for them later was a bit boring (even if just for like 20-30 minutes).
One more, for the butterflies that you need to follow to collect the hidden treasures. You can use your broom and Revelio to track the position in the minimap and in game HUD, you don't need to watch around and be afraid to lose them.
Another one, you can complete the merlin challenges with platforms even if you fly close to the top of them. So you don't need to do that jumping on that. That helps you to play quicker, 'cause there are too many Merlins Challenge in this game.
For the hopping pot if you can't collect one of the potions because your stores are full, you can just use one of them and then collect it. If it's a Wiggenweld potion just vanish the pot using the evanesco spell and conjure a new one and it will start over making the next potion.
How many people focus on collectibles and side missions before main story like I do. I still haven't completed the game because I'm focusing on side stuff and I have full potion and plants.
That's the first thing I do in a new game is figure out if dialogue is skippable, so I usually just press every button to see if any of them skip the dialogue. It's a bad habit, though, as some dialogue is important and some games make you have to listen and pay attention to progress a storyline.
I am not a Harry Potter fan at all. Didnt watch a single film or read the books and I really enjoy this game. Its rare to have games that doesnt completely be broken or bad on launch day especially when its not PS5 exclusives. People probably doesnt realized that Avalanche Software which is NOT Avalanche Studios who created the Just Cause series is behind this game. And this is their first big triple A game. So far they are doing an amazing job. This game studio might be another great talented studio to look forward to in the future
@Le Doynier I've ran through the game and it has glitches, but definitely would not say it's broken. Glitches aren't in the same league as Bethesda games.
Minor correction you gain four every time you level up your Merlin trials. to start with twenty slots there are five stages of completion. 5 stages 4 per stage plus 20 starting spots. 40 in the end as you've shown
You also start with only 20 slots, not 28-30 as stated in the video. So the whole tip is pretty much misinformation. This really should be addressed in the video description.
I’m stuck with collection chests as I have a glitch where they’re opened but still glowing yellow so don’t count towards completing them! Hoping it’s fixed soon…
Me and a friend were talking about the killing curse and he said he wont get it as hes a " good " wizard so I asked him " whats worse " a spell that kills instantly or freezing someone smashing them into the ground so they bleed out and die slowly with multiple broken bones
Another great thing I learned is when you get the mission to buy your own store, get it. Your house elf will buy all your unwanted gear and give you more for it than what anyone else will.
@@antonfowler6582 I got the deluxe version for the ps4 and I was able to do it and it was a very fun and cool evil within themed quest that I love just sucks on how little more you get for selling there unless it changes depending on the name but don't think so 😔
You can just dismiss the hopping pots and put them back down to reset them! I did that a few times because of the same thing, having too many healing potions.
I did my 1st playthrough without equipping any unforgivable curses to my spell sets...but playing as Slytherin now and that will change as well as asking for rewards.
Tip on the hopping pots with the Wiggenweld issue, if you have 25 potions and you cant pick up anymore, you can delete the pot and make it again and it will reset the clock and make a new potion
So much to look forward to! I waited 3 days for it to upload and played 14 hours today to get level 18, room of requirement and flying. Can't wait to get badass.
The only spells you need (or I would recommend to make them easier) for Merlin trials are: Confringo Depulso Winguardium leviosa/accio Reparo Lumos Flipendo I've made the mistake of thinking I needed another spell (mostly bombarda) and saving them for later only to realize I've interpreted them wrong
Read in the collections about enemies for their weaknesses. Ik dueling feats do tell as well, but then you could go 20 hours without finding out a speciffic weakness, and some of the feats are not always obvious. So If you read about it and listen to the feats you will properly remember them
The collections don't tell you everything tho, like for the dugbogs, it says to levitate their tongue, but it was a dueling feat that told me to diffindo right after to instakill it
Also never felt I needed to rush getting the unforgivable curses, it's really fun to play with other combos of spells. But I play easy mode again sooo maybe it makes a bigger difference for other people. I also waited a while before using talent points, so I could really decide my preferred battle styles. Made a big difference so I could plan what to spend my talent points on.
my first run I learned all the unforgivables, and I ended up not using them most of the time except avada kedavra for trolls, but then I had tons of dueling feats not done, so I stopped using it there as well! For my other playthroughs (each house with different houses and personalities) I will learn them and use them based on what feels natural and change fighting styles accordingly! :) Ravenclaw character will fight stealthily but learn them regardless, Hufflepuff for sure with the plants mainly and I’d love Gryffindor to apply more potions and learn all but avada kedavra regardless! Interested to see how my runs will go! Played on easy first time around but I’ll play normal in my next one!
@@4everGirlStar I've just started my second play through this time on normal. I will try to do everything contrary to my last playthrough haha, we'll see how it goes! :) Fun to play around with the different styles and suit it to a character for sure.
I really have to say, the quality of your videos is awesome! Audio, Personality, Quality of Information, all of it is outstanding. I have never heard from you until now and I instantly subscribed.
For those that don’t know, for one of the Merlin Trials that require jumping on them without falling, you can complete it while on your broom. Just get as low to them as possible and you’ll be fine. Another tip, you can interact with collectibles while on your broom, ingredients, chests, pretty much anything.
Noooo, i spend an hour looking for the last balloons all over the map, using videos and i could just zoom out and see where they were? that was my last challenge to 100% too
I’ll be getting the game on the switch and I’m glad there are so many helpful videos I can watch before it releases so I can make the most out of it the first time around. Saving this video for later 😊
for a game of this caliber, i'd recommend you don't play it on switch - it'll likely be barely playable, look at some of the reviews for MK11 which is also a warner bros game
2:08 I really hate the fact that i have already went by like 15 of the demiguise statues, but i am not in the story yet to collect them...and i know i will not remember the location for later 😂
Why did I think the eyeball chest took their own spell. I've had disillusionment forever and I'm just finding this out!!!! I've been so broke for nothing 😂
One of the most enjoyable platinium i ever get, and can give few additional tips for new players. If you play on lower difficulty or you're actually good at game and fights arent hard for you, dont open super extra chests (these ones which you pull steel bar) at low lvl, items inside scale to your lvl so its super easy to max your character at 40 lvl or get better gear later in story if you find fights more difficulty. If you in wild doing RPG stuff, fly up on broom and use Revelio, it will get much more range than on ground and will mark every intresting thing in that range. If you ever, especially at the game begin, start Merlin's Trial and cant do it (dont have spell or just dont know how) te trial remains "open" but it icon will disapear from map, so you can easly miss this when max game later. Its very usefull if you have bad memory (like me) to have photo of papper with rotating monster images riddle solution on your phone, its much faster than looking for this papper in your inventory each time. When you start looting items which require identification and have full bags, use Floo Flames to room of requirements, identify items, and then Floo near broom shop in Hogsmead, this is the fastest route. And always clear your bags before going into any story or side quests, cant sell items meantime, this is important because you gonna need nice pile of gold coins to buy all stuff in game. When your bags have limited space for items, your Nab-sack dont, so if you are in need for gold, you can catch all magic beasts when you travel around the world and sell them in Hogsmead (remember to keep male+female to breed them). When you get access to flying broom, go and discover every Floo Flames you can (cant do all ealry, part of map is blocked by storyline), because you gonna need pretty much every one of them a lot of times, game is amazing and beautyfull but you finnaly gonna get bored flying or running everywhere. Good luck playing this amazing game
Trip that was missed. Every armor trait is 100% useless except for 2 of them. • increase damage to curse targets. Or • Increase all spell damage. These two traits give you twice at much damage, as say one that just increases the damage of one spell.
Yeah I literally put level 3 increased damage for Damage spells on all my gear, and after a while I was basically insta-killing enemies. Played the first one on normal difficulty though, so probably gonna do hard the next time
I haven't seen any TH-camr tell people that when you use the reveal spell you can hear a ring sound in the direction of the little quill and paper, can't think of the name and I'm at work.
These are not "mistakes". These are options you get along the way. As a matter of fact. First thing I did was removing every single pop up helper on screen. I dont need the game telling me what to do and where to go. Ruins my immersion.
Lvl 3 is just all the moons in Hogwarts and hogsmeade plus two more from nearby hamlets. Got it immediately after getting the quest from professor Moon lol
12:01 "around level 5" I am level 16 and still don't have access to talents, a broom, the room of requirement, etc.. I just ran around spamming "Wizard Sense" (Reveal-something or another) and grabbing all the pages.. My most recent spell acquisition was the short range fire spell and invisibility spell.. I just basically went Skyrim mode once I was allowed outside.. Impending world-ending disaster looming on the horizon? Just hold on, this crazy old lady said she will give me 10 gold if I go bludgeon a couple rats in the basement.. Oh! Also, local bard needs new strings so I am gonna go to the nearby forest to kill some spiders for some thread.. Also, I can't forget to grab the enchanted lichen that only grows in the same part of the forest as the spiders while I am there.. I heard there was a dagger with +9 to ogres in the nearby bar that I could possibly win in a card game, so I should get that too.. Maybe I should stop by the local tailor's shop to see if they got any socks of moisture protection.. Man, I hate soggy socks.. That reminds me! I should enter the local fishing tournament to see if I can win that nifty hat..
@@Invin I know.. The point was I was doing anything and everything except the main story for the longest time.. I did finally get to that point after hitting level 21.. Right now I got solid setup in the Room of Requirement.. 5 slot small planters (x2), 3 slot medium planter (x2), 2 slot large planter (x3), Fertilizer generators (x3), Hopping Potion generators (x3), Chopping Boards (x3), 2 slot Potion makers (x2), Moonstone generators (x3), and of course the Identification table.. I haven't unlocked the Loom or the Beasts yet.. Only reason I could afford all those blueprints was mass selling junk gear I don't use and only buying blueprints/seeds.. Also, I got all the stations (except ID Table and Moonstone Generators) in the large expansion room all nice and organized! Really happy how I got it neatly arranged into 3 sectors!
@@Kenshaable It's been months since I played and I mostly forgot what I have and where I have it.. I know I progressed much further since then and I got a few images running through my head of a layout I had at one point in the game where I had all of those planters and such placed in the expansion room/section for RoR.. I am pretty sure I had put it all in the first expansion that is a long rectangle.. At each end I had a U bend of medium planters and I think I had the fertilizer inside of that semi-circle of planters on the right side of the room..The left side had the large planters.. My small planters were positioned with the medium and large planters on each end where the vertical line in D shape is the small planters and the curve was either medium or large planters.. Of course, I left gaps between the small and medium/large planters to be able to easily walk between them.. On the back wall opposite of the doorway, I remember having my cutting boards and hopping potion pots.. In the center of the room I had my crafting table.. The layout basically looked like this from the perspective of standing in the doorway: C I + D C is the Large Planters.. I is the small planters.. + is the crafting station.. Imagine a horizontal line above it where I have the hopping pots and cutting boards along the back wall.. D is both the singe line of small pots and the U bend of medium planters.. Imagine a dot inside the D formation where I put my fertilizer stations.. I think that covers everything in the first expansion room you get for RoR.. Again, it has been months so I could be forgetting something..
My best advise for collecting demiguise statues at night is to start with the hamlets first and then move onto Hogsmeade once the level 2 is required and then Hogwarts last since the castle has many locked level 2 doors with statues in them and many level 3 chests and doors as extras.
@@ChristmasLore the curses for example, in the talent tree you can make it so that different skills all curse enemies and when enemies are currsed they take damage as they damage from all cursed enemies are linked, then there is a ability that you can unlock (Its a random drop from bandit camp) that allows you to deal more damage to cursed enemies, and the icing on the cake is if u use avadakedevra (however it's spelled) you can auto kill all cursed enemies of you unlock that skill
@@ChristmasLore Each of the 6 gear items you wear can have a trait slotted. An example of the traits stacking would be, putting the same trait on all the pieces to get a massive boost. The trait Concentration increases damage of all damage spells, I have it on 5 pieces of my gear currently.
Alohamora and its BS nonsense of obtaining and utilizing like a lock pick was so immersion-breaking throughout the entire game. It was such a stupid decision to implement the way they did.
Playing this at the moment and one thing i wish i learned faster was that when decorating your RoR the chests are the smaller ones and that to get something you actually want you can save and reload before opening. So for example not particularly happy to find small rugs i eventually got the ruins with moss
1 thing that i have noticed on many youtube hogwarts legacy videos is that a lot of people are utilizing the single plant pot stations! Why? just save Galleons to buy the 9 small pot plant stations and the double large pot stations. You put 4 of the 9 pot down for your utility plants (Mandagore, Mallowsweets etc) and 3 of the double large pot stations for your "Fighting" plants and that's it! Yeah i know these stations are not cheap but is worth it in the end because after you purchase them you practically have infinite resources. I found my self having no more room for my "Fighting" plants after this.
I simply use Arresto Momentum to catch beasts. Made catching a Kneazel alot less stressful. I also love how hilariously OP Chinese Chomping Cabbages are.
For the Alahomora there is a great video 17 minutes long and shows all the locations of all moonstones very easy to follow but you will need 1-2 hour to complete all.
Also with talent points there are only a max amount of 36. Even though there are 48 talents total across the five categories. So there will be some talents that you won't be able to unlock. Use your talents points WISELY. Don't waste them all in one go, find your playing style and what works for you.
I feel so dumb. Almost 30 hours into the game and I just assumed there would be some new spell that would let me access the eye chests that I haven't learned yet, never thought of using disillusionment... Not my proudest moment.
Well idk I was prety overpowered with maxed out gear upgrades. I think the more important part are the buffs you can get, e.g. level 3 ancient magic damage increase + faster generation of the ancient bar makes you extremely strong and let's you basically oneshot everything, especially if you curse the enemy (don't even need the actual curses, there are talents for your normal skills to apply the curse mark) you can basically oneshot big trolls.
I don’t normally comment on TH-cam videos, but I had to drop one for you. This was super helpful and I can tell you put a lot of work into it. Thank you ✊🏽

I wanted to add to the eye chest! If you make sure by the time you sneak up on it quietly, as in when you are up on it make sure the eye isnt open at all you can get 560!! I found this out the other day!
A quick tip when doing the wardrobe house jacket quest you can revilio cabinets, then go find the flying key . 9 outa 10 key will be drawn to cabinet now .
as someone who is not interested at all in the dark arts, i'm glad that the game will give me 40 points to spread around my talents, that makes it so that i can literaly put in all of them and still have some extra
Hopefully this video helps you all to avoid some of the things I forgot to do or missed the first time around and points you in the direction of your next progression step. There is so much to do in this game so always have fun with it and play at your own pace!
Bonus Tip: Using Revelio on your broom will cover a large distance and make icons show on the map that were previously undiscovered. Additionally the spell lasts for a few seconds meaning that one cast will continue to reveal points of interest and secrets as you fly.

I asked for a reward for the diary/book accio mission, and when that girl sees me now she says she never should have trusted me.

Main tip for any and everyone is to take your time while playing. Explore everything. This is something I’m doing in my second run through because I was just so eager to play the first time around. Poachers are killing for the animals properties. We put them in a sanctuary and slowly drip feed those resources instead

If I remember right there will be a little checkmark but only if you loot the special chests there.
They do it’s a small check mark
As far as I know certain locations do have a check mark. And other locations such as treasure vaults or merlin trials etc. disappear from the map when completed.
If you zoom out on the map, it tells you how many collectibles you have for the area, downside, it does not mention how many butterflies you have left and they aren't counted as collection chests.

Similarly, since that arena gives an appearance, you also need to do that arena for the all collections achievement. The learn all spells achievement only counts spells, not curses.

Side notes I would say that are also useful but less general and more "fine-tuned" details would be -
-Moonstone is extremely available in the open world so I'd actually suggest NOT getting the moonstone production tables to save the money and resources for other things in the RoR.
-For Alohomora it is not extremely crucial to level it, but it does open up a LOT of stuff (loot, money, more demiguise, collections, some story quests will have extra loot along the way DURING the quest, 3 Daedalian Key cabinets to complete house chest for the nifty robes)
-The haunted hogsmeade quest that allows you to get your own shop in hogsmeade (which is a pretty fun quest i might add) will allow you to sell gear for a little more than the other vendors in game if you are hurting for money.
(I made my hufflepuff a plant user and my ravenclaw heavy spellcaster, then my slytherin was of course mainly dark arts/curse stuff)
Sorry for the insanely long post, but I hope this is hepful!!
I'll also add in that there are beasts that has a + sign on them which gives 6 materials so keep an eye for those.
Extremely thorough comment! I appreciate you
Very useful
You can collect the materials from your beasts using the beast management menu
It's just bad gameplay design if you have to purposely not use an ability because it makes things too easy.
@@admontblanc I agree.
@@jenniferharvey5340 Same. But I never even use potions or plants to enhance combat, as I'm a purist and I enjoy proper wand battles :P
I've seen a vid of a cabbage killing trolls 😅
Last magic meter upgrade is locked behind a level 3 lock on the bridge. Make Aloramora III a priority to be able to complete it.
Great tip, thanks!
tbh I played with 4 bars, it's more than enough for any of the strong enemies, so unless you feel the need to use ancient magic on the small mobs in fights you are probably fine with 4 bars.
You get some random loot drops while questing, but they obviously have a low chance of spawning legendary gear.
One thing I figured out is you can press Triangle (Y) to skip through each line of when someone is talking to you
I find I can do that on PC if I right click. Took me about 6 hours in before I found that out!
Ehh, idk. Early access performance was pretty bad imo. Though it did clear up nicely a week after launch.
@@ILiketurtles68 it's still very broken on PC. The PS5 experience seems to be good from what i hear but the PC port is very bare bones and glitchy
@Le Doynier I've ran through the game and it has glitches, but definitely would not say it's broken. Glitches aren't in the same league as Bethesda games.
@@ledoynier3694 i havent found any glitches on ps4 tho
38 years old woman playing this game! ❤ thanks for the tips, I'm currently level 16 and enjoying this game a lot ❤❤❤
39 year old man, me too
Minor correction you gain four every time you level up your Merlin trials. to start with twenty slots there are five stages of completion. 5 stages 4 per stage plus 20 starting spots. 40 in the end as you've shown
I came to say that.
Well when u rush so much u tend to forget what the actual requirements of something u completed days ago
Appreciate the correction thanks! Like another comment here says, I did it a while ago and forgot. At least the 40 end result is the same!
@Invin your doing better than me, I don't even have a video on youtube. Was just trying to help not criticize.
Or turning them into a chicken or not killing them and just making them feel agonizing pain till they have 1hp
Another great thing I learned is when you get the mission to buy your own store, get it. Your house elf will buy all your unwanted gear and give you more for it than what anyone else will.
Sadly that quest is a ps5 exclusive and wont be available for other systems for a year
@@antonfowler6582 I got the deluxe version for the ps4 and I was able to do it and it was a very fun and cool evil within themed quest that I love just sucks on how little more you get for selling there unless it changes depending on the name but don't think so 😔
You can just dismiss the hopping pots and put them back down to reset them! I did that a few times because of the same thing, having too many healing potions.
I did my 1st playthrough without equipping any unforgivable curses to my spell sets...but playing as Slytherin now and that will change as well as asking for rewards.
W
Thank you! I must of missed the talent upgrade parts when I started playing 🤦🏻♀️ dueling and fighting is so much easier now! 🙌🏼
Yeah they really help to improve your character! Glad the video helped.
The only spells you need (or I would recommend to make them easier) for Merlin trials are:
Confringo
Depulso
Winguardium leviosa/accio
Reparo
Lumos
Flipendo
I've made the mistake of thinking I needed another spell (mostly bombarda) and saving them for later only to realize I've interpreted them wrong
Read in the collections about enemies for their weaknesses. Ik dueling feats do tell as well, but then you could go 20 hours without finding out a speciffic weakness, and some of the feats are not always obvious. So If you read about it and listen to the feats you will properly remember them
The collections don't tell you everything tho, like for the dugbogs, it says to levitate their tongue, but it was a dueling feat that told me to diffindo right after to instakill it
@@dominikgose2609 yeah I know
Also never felt I needed to rush getting the unforgivable curses, it's really fun to play with other combos of spells.

I have never heard from you until now and I instantly subscribed.
I really appreciate the support thanks a lot!
For those that don’t know, for one of the Merlin Trials that require jumping on them without falling, you can complete it while on your broom. Just get as low to them as possible and you’ll be fine. Another tip, you can interact with collectibles while on your broom, ingredients, chests, pretty much anything.
I like how I am watching this while 63 hours in and literally 99% done.
Hahaha, appreciate you stopping by the video!

@@jameslovell8433 I actually kept a rather normal sleep schedule. I've been playing since late evening on the 7th
Well the game is very short, so that's a lot of time to grind the last remaining bits of side quests
- “Learn how to to use the unforgivable curses as soon as you can”
- Doesn’t tells you how to learn the unforgivable curses
Another helpful tip is doing the side quest "minding business " you get your own shop and can sell your gear for higher prices
*This quest is a PS5 exclusive until 2024.

Nice one, I'm sure you'll love the game! Hope the video helps!
for a game of this caliber, i'd recommend you don't play it on switch - it'll likely be barely playable, look at some of the reviews for MK11 which is also a warner bros game
2:08 I really hate the fact that i have already went by like 15 of the demiguise statues, but i am not in the story yet to collect them...and i know i will not remember the location for later 😂
why would u do it man😂😂😂
It's funny that you have a magical bag that can hold 15-20 horse type creatures, but you can't carry more that 20-30 articles of clothing.
Why did I think the eyeball chest took their own spell. I've had disillusionment forever and I'm just finding this out!!!! I've been so broke for nothing 😂
One thing. I'd collected almost 200 moonstone just running around b4 I even got the Room of Requirement. Never got to stone maker. Never needed it.
Or
• Increase all spell damage.
These two traits give you twice at much damage, as say one that just increases the damage of one spell.
Yeah I literally put level 3 increased damage for Damage spells on all my gear, and after a while I was basically insta-killing enemies. Played the first one on normal difficulty though, so probably gonna do hard the next time
I don’t need more damage, I already kill entire camps in one spell 💀
Been just finding the little demiguise as I went doing quest, very helpful to know that it shows amounts on map. Thank you!
I haven't seen any TH-camr tell people that when you use the reveal spell you can hear a ring sound in the direction of the little quill and paper, can't think of the name and I'm at work.
Ah yes for the field guide pages, good tip thanks!
This is how I found most of the pages. I put on headphones for surround sound and followed the revelio bell
It is indeed, just have to do Hogwarts Castle in the correct order so you can unlock all the doors needed.
Bro you got a WHOLE FACTORY. 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾I’m taking notes
Hahaha I did the same thing but you can get talents from any point after level 5 once you get far enough into the main story!
Would love to see your RoR neat arrangement
The layout basically looked like this from the perspective of standing in the doorway:
C I + D
C is the Large Planters..
Remember traits stack. Better to focus on one or two traits.
Could you give an example, please?🪄
Great tip, thanks!

When do you unlock Alohamora because I’m at level 19 and still don’t have it?
Alohamora and its BS nonsense of obtaining and utilizing like a lock pick was so immersion-breaking throughout the entire game. It was such a stupid decision to implement the way they did.
Playing this at the moment and one thing i wish i learned faster was that when decorating your RoR the chests are the smaller ones and that to get something you actually want you can save and reload before opening. So for example not particularly happy to find small rugs i eventually got the ruins with moss
Glad to see you covering Hogwarts Legacy after new world Invin keep the videos coming bro!
Really appreciate it thank you! And thanks for sticking around on the channel!
Even though I open everything “too soon” I noticed having the beasts and buying clothing are a lot of fun as well and it keeps us satisfied.
At 9:45 roughly, you actually start with 16 and each upgrade of Merlin trials gives you +4 slots
You start with 20 slots. The game rewards you with 20 through completion of the Merlin trials.
Hogwarts legacy is truly a kleptomanic simulator, you're constantly breaking and entering in people's home and steal their stuff
You're not alone lol
Can this only be done on Pro iPad models or does iPad Air support this aswell
Can't believe there's no protronus in the game.
Patronus and Quidditch for the sequel? 🤔
Thunderbrews are fantastic. Used it in the last mission and it sped that up dramatically.
The gear upgrades really don't seem to make much effect to improving damage imo
They don’t make a difference at all! Very frustrating!
Thank you ✊🏽
THANK GOD U SAVED ME I WAS ABOUT TO DO ALL OF IT

i wish the main storyline in this game was longer. i got addicted and binged the whole storyline in a week 💀
Mistake 11: calling them trails instead of trials
I wanted to add to the eye chest! If you make sure by the time you sneak up on it quietly, as in when you are up on it make sure the eye isnt open at all you can get 560!! I found this out the other day!
youdont need winguardium levioso on a hotbar key accio does the same thing to objects
Good tip, thanks!
Yeah once you accio something it can convert itself into wingardium leviosa thereby saving you a spell slot on your hotbar wheel. So useful.
A quick tip when doing the wardrobe house jacket quest you can revilio cabinets, then go find the flying key .
9 outa 10 key will be drawn to cabinet now .
Seems rather like "what to do" than a "mistakes to avoid" ... but ok.
Fairly enough, if you don’t do these things you won’t be happy.
as someone who is not interested at all in the dark arts, i'm glad that the game will give me 40 points to spread around my talents, that makes it so that i can literaly put in all of them and still have some extra
