What we do here in Barbados that really amplifies the pineapple flavour, is reserve the juice from the pineapples and pour it over the cake before you invert it - so it soaks in. Adds so much flavour it's amazing!!!!!!
Can you do a Baking 101 video or live event? Such as 1) How to measure flour (since people measure differently) and other dry/wet ingredients. 2) What are some essential utensils/tools, etc. 3) Some necessary ingredients for simple baking. 4) Where you recommend shopping for kitchen gadgets or what brand. and/or 5) Everything a beginner baker should know/have. I'm an amateur at baking but I'd still like to hear your input. And I'm sure all the beginners with zero to little baking experience would really appreciate the information.
Good Grief woman!....I'm soooo happy I found your channel. My mouth is watering from looking at your videos. I have been watching your videos for at least an hour now. They all look so good. I will certainly be making this soon. New subbie here!!!!
I wanted to say thank you for your videos and recipes which are enjoyable to follow and yield amazing results. In particular, my four year old watched this, used his ikea toy kitchen and proceeded to make these using pear instead of pineapple, all I did was show him how to measure and then put them in and out of the oven - they were delicious.
i love your videos! you're doing such a great job. i'd love to see a video on how you store all your kitchen gadgets. you have so many usefull things but where and how do you store them. i'm looking for ideas on how to keep my kitchen tidy with having many tools. Just an idea! Thanks!
Thanks Laura and Joe. I keep my family on their toes since I found your channel lol. Every time I'm in the kitchen, I see prying eyes that are trying to figure out what i will be making lol. Thanks for all of the delicious recipes. Love y'all
Hi Laura, you might say typical American dessert, but I would say retro Australian dessert. My mother used to make this often in the 70's, but in a cake pan. She would not pre cook the caramel but simply put the butter and brown sugar in the base then the pineapple with the batter on top. It was delicious served with cream or ice cream. Yum.
Thank you Laura. I to make Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes. Up til now, I have been using mini spring form pans and or ramekins. I will be using a mini cake pan as soon as it arrives. Thanks Laura
love love just loved this recipe..i will surely try this on my dad's bday as he doesnt like creamy cakes.he will surely love mini cakes..yayyy..thank you
My little 5 year old sister watches u Laura and she loves watching u cook that she always wants me and her to cook ur recipes and we do she watches u all the time and wen u was pretending the cake tray was a drum she laughed thank u for being my sisters inspiration she loves u to bits and so do I xD
I literally just made this (from a different recipe) yesterday! It was soo delicious! But I also added shredded coconut to the cakemixture. Really good :)
I seriously love all your videos! I cooked several of your dishes for family and friends and they all loved every bit of them. I always forget to take pictures of the dishes I made though... I shall remember next time! Always looking forward to your videos
Hi! Just a quick hello to say that my youngest sister (3 1/2) really loves watching your videos with me although she can't really understand what you say (we're french speaker from Quebec). We actually tried this recipe yesterday for my mom's birthday and it was great!
pretty please chocolate and caramel bars! i love your videos so much I watch it instead of sleeping and studying. I honestly watch them on repeat, it soothes me
I never get people who are like 'I don't understand why you're so skinny with all the food you cook'...it's called exercise and not eating the entire batch. Everything in moderation. My mum eats chocolate every single night--a couple squares she needs no more. And she's skinny toned and athletic because she's a runner. If you're not greedy and you workout there's no harm in a little treat here and then. Food is meant to be enjoyed and savoured, not feared and deprived of.
To make these even more appealing try cutting 3 cherries in half and placing each half around the perimeter of the cake before baking. Do this for all of the individual cakes. When finished baking they give a very finished and colorful addition and an additional flavor.
Laura I do the same little dance you do when I eat something yummy! You are so fun to watch. My boyfriend and I make your recipes all the time! We made your nutella cookies and mixed in some crushed ferrero rochers and drizzled a nutella butter mixture on the top. They were AMAZING!!
Hi laura I have been watching ur videos ever since ur newly making cooking videos. I really loveeeee ur cookings and especially ur bakings. Ive tried most of ur recipes and it never failed me at all. Ur tips and ways of making it are all soo simple yet delicious! I'm a muslim and some of ur cooking recipes uses wine. But it didn stop me at all! I usually had a twist on it whenever u added wine. And it taste delicious too!! I have a request. Could u makea video those mini chocolate or cheese tarts? Thanks laura! With much love all the way from Singapore!
I make pineapple upside down cake frequently but have never made the small ones. I am going to give it a try. I wanted to tell you I made your chicken piccata this week and it was such a hit with my family. Keep showing all this wonderful food and I will weight 400 pounds. By the way, I love your videos.
Thanks Laura for sharing this video, that sounds DE-LI-CIOUS ! I have a request for you: can you make your version of a "cake salé", perfect in appetizer and popular all around the Mediterranean sea !
1920s all the way :) Hi Laura. I've never made pineapple upside cake before. It looks delicious! My US History class is having a 1920s themed party and I needed a really delicious recipie for class that will STAND out. I think anything 1920s is definitely the classic american food! I was planning on bringing a coffee cake but I couldn't find a great recipe. I was wondering if you would have any suggestions? Thank you so much for reading this (if you do), it means a lot. Every time I log on to youtube the first thing I search is 'Laura in the kitchen' to see what you've been making because you're able to post so many videos each week!!
If what she is showing is not enough, you should go learn how to boil an egg. Or go check out Joy of Baking - she makes everything sound like rocket science, which is apparently what you are looking for.
I think he/she is talking about how sometimes they don't show the end product after whisking/mixing etc. Like if you don't cook much , you won't know when to overmix/undermix.
These aren't just delicious-looking, they're adorable! I'm so lucky to have bought a pineapple yesterday x3 Now i cn turn it into these mini upside down cakes! Thank you so much for sharing, Laura ^_^ Next would you be willing to share with us a recipe for panzerotti pugliesi or chiacchiere please?
your beautiful lovely smile and cheerfulness are always contagious 🙆♀️🙆♀️🙆♀️💞💞😄😄🤓🤓 and always thanks for the recipees too. God bless you and family 🙏🙏🙏🤓🤓

If you can't find the funnel cake pourer you can use an old washed ketchup or mustard squeeze bottle. They work great! Thanks for the yummy recipe!!
