  • In this episode, you'll uncover the diverse approaches to anti-aging with me and Julie, showcasing that while there is no one-size-fits-all solution, healthy habits, including exercise, diet, and smart supplementation, can significantly impact healthspan and lifespan. Whether you're a billionaire or an average Joe, the key to longevity may be simpler and more accessible than you think.
In the world of tech titans, competition extends beyond the boardroom to space conquest and extravagant lifestyles. However, one of the most intriguing competitions focuses on reversing the aging process itself: the Rejuvenation Olympics, Bryan Johnson's brainchild.
    bengreenfieldlife.com/rejuven...
    www.bryanjohnson.co/
Quickly rising to the top of the leaderboard is Julie Clark, a single mom in her 50s earning less than $100k per year. Today, she joins the show to teach you how to defy aging with her budget-friendly routine, which includes regular exercise, sauna sessions, a balanced diet with limited refined sugars and grains, and affordable supplements.
    fortune.com/well/article/reve...
Despite not having a billionaire's budget, Julie's aging rate - 0.665 (she only ages 66 out of 100 days) - is remarkable, demonstrating that longevity is within reach for many, without breaking the bank. Unlike many of her counterparts in the Rejuvenation Olympics, her routine is somewhat ordinary. She spends $27 a month on a gym membership and $79 a month on the longevity supplement NOVOS. Julie consumes about 16 ounces of a variety of vegetables daily, snacking on carrots, radishes, and peppers during her workday. She limits the amount of refined sugars and grains she eats, and at least three times a week, Julie uses the sauna for 20 minutes before taking a cold shower.
    bengreenfieldlife.com/novos
At the gym, she does a mix of cardio and strength workouts each week: two days of upper body workouts with weights, two days of lower body with weights, and one day of strength training targeting her core, along with 20 to 30 minutes of cardio four times a week. On the weekends, she hikes, kayaks, plays pickleball, or takes a long walk.
Through these simple, affordable health and longevity methods, Julie is considered a top competitor at the Rejuvenation Olympics - measured by the DunedinPACE test, the gold standard for assessing the pace of human aging. This test analyzes DNA methylation marks in white blood cells, providing unique insight into an individual's rate of aging. (I had my test done by TruDiagnostic, which is operated by a former podcast guest of mine named Ryan Smith.) You can read more details about my test results in this article: Ben Greenfield’s Latest “Age Reversal” Lab Testing Results, Diet & Supplement Stack, Top Tactics To Slow Aging, Longevity-Enhancing Stacks & Much More.

Once the leader in the Rejuvenation Olympics, billionaire Bryan Johnson (check out my podcast with him here), is neck and neck with individuals like Julie and Dave Pascoe (a retired engineer who, at 61, looks and feels decades younger), proving that optimizing your longevity doesn't need to cost a fortune.

Awesome interview, Julie is gorgeous. I am so glad to see a woman my age Biohacking. I have been Biohacking since 2009. I made a sauna out of a grow tent. I do cold plunges in a kids pool. I rebound, and use vibrational plates. I take a multitude of supplements. I do it all on the cheap. I use binaural beats and VR glasses instead of the expensive devices. I am glad Biohacking is main stream now. My friends all thought I was crazy. But now they all beg me for tips. I even was interviewed about gray hair prevention. I got a small blurb in the WSJ.

I had a comprehensive medical last November including full blood work, ecg, heart scan etc; I’m 51, the clinic doc said if he didn’t know my age he’d say mid 30’s. I take 4gms a day of nicotinic acid a day, along with various animal glandulars including brain adrenals reproductive etc, and i eat an animal based diet (but not carnivore) with a lot of homemade fermented food. I also have v minimal stress in my life. I have regrown thick hair, no grey, muscle mass with minimal effort, firm smooth skin, memory, breasts have got fuller and perkier, periods are regular no signs of menopause, hormones are balanced, sleep well, flat stomach and a ton of energy. I know I am unusual as I see my friends most of whom are younger now ageing and experiencing issues which I am not. It is my unwavering belief and indeed inner knowing that nicotinic acid in pharmacological doses is the holy grail of anti ageing supplements. I fully intend to take this for rest 0f my life and live well past 100 in great health.
Listening to what she’s saying re fasting and what she eats, do not do this if you want to stay fertile and have bountiful balances hormones. Stop ‘eating’ green smoothies and get some grass raised eggs, butter and full fat raw milk In you. And eat 3 meals a day. Your hormones will not do well starving and being fed liquid vegetables. Hormones are made of cholesterol, and fasting causes pregenenlone steal issues. Most women going through menopause pre 55yo are causing it to happen through inappropriate diet, too much fasting, toxic overload (stop slathering your body in hormone disrupters and cleaning house with chemicals) and cardio exercise and too much stress. We should be able to make it through to late 50’s being fertile given access to nutritious food and supplements etc.

@@applebottomproduction1733 Thankyou. I get my nicotinic acid from a Uk company called Charge Products, I live in south east England. I have done a ton of research into niacin and will only use immediate release nicotinic acid as this is the form our bodies can convert into nad+ via the priess handler pathway (rodents do not have this and can utilise nmn, niacinmaide etc which humans cannot). It is very important to ascertain from the supplier that it is 100% nicotinic acid and not mixed with anything else, the brand I am using at present seems to be pure as I am getting all the benefits and zero side effects. I tried ordering from pure bulk in USA but was crap mixed with niacinmaide and immediately caused liver inflammation. There are thousands of papers and research studies over past 100+ yrs showing the efficacy of this stuff for pretty much every disease of ageing - Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cholesterol imbalances, heart/circulation, cancer and it was also used as part of the AA protocol in early days, it has given me much greater mental acuity and will power also and this will sound weird but it has opened me up to a more spiritual path and I cannot tolerate immoral devious stuff now, sounds crazy but it’s like I am higher vibration through taking so much of it and cleaning up my diet and personal care and cleaning products etc. I try and tell everyone about the benefits but v few will get past the early heavy flushing and itching, you need to start v small 100mg and build up, I use a gram scale and buy in bulk bags and weight it out, mix with water and chug down before bed, the release of melatonin is exceptional I used to take 10mg a night, now I’m sleeping through from 9;30 to 6am and know when I wake up growth hormone was released in bright eyed and raring to go. All I can say is try it and see but make sure it’s pure nicotinic acid.

@@applebottomproduction1733so I wrote you a v comprehensive reply including where I get my NA from along with other useful info, unfortunately the YT sensors don’t like me sharing and have chosen to remove my comment. This has happened so many times now when I try and share info on this supplement on this platform that I am now convinced that there is a concerted effort to keep it hidden from the masses. Along with the demonisation linked to liver toxicity (which is not caused by NA but extended release niacin, two v different things but is used to put people off). Anyway sorry but if I write it all out again it’ll just get taken down, just make sure you get nothing but pure NA, all other types of niacin are useless and can be harmful (research priess handler pathway as to why).

After a few hours I am ready to slump in a chair. I once had a small operation on my hand and the prep doctor said I was very fit. I also run nowadays and still do some heavy lifts in the gym every one in a while. Exercise is the true fountain of youth.

She said there is nothing wrong with the vegan diet. That it just wasn't for her body. But all of those heavy metals most likely came from plant foods. For example, rice is notorious for drawing up and concentrating heavy metals. The only animal foods that are similarly contaminated are seafood. But I've never heard of anyone getting heavy metal toxicity from eating beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and dairy.
I noticed she answered someone else's comment. She explained that, "This was a product of dental issues, eating fish all over the world while traveling, and being a ceramics major for a bit and mixing glazes without a mask." Apparently, it never occurred to her that plant foods might also contribute. Some supplements, particularly herbs used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, are also known for heavy metal contamination.

Hi - no I am well aware of plant foods and heavy metals. In fact during my chelation we kept seeing arsenic on the rise. It was coming from my morning black tea and brown rice protein. I'm careful to source things that get tested (Pique tea and Lundberg rice for instance). I use Consumer Labs to source supplements and if possible research plant ingredients there. Trust me I NEVER want to feel like I did when I had heavy metal poisoning again. I am careful. I think however, this was out of the scope of my conversation with Ben at this time.

That would be the different protocols - the managing clinics. So for example mine should say Novos. And Bryan's will say Blueprint. You'd have to go to each of those to sort out their longevity protocol. I know Dave Pascoe has a website where he lists what he's doing as well.

Bryan Johnson's protocol costs between $1,000-$1,500 per month.... still crazy expensive, but not the $2,000,000 per year everyone keeps harping on... that two million is going to paying for all the doctors, lab tests and research that he is having done on himself to record the effectiveness of his protocol. I think he's on the wrong track, but he's doing it the right way... and that is with proper science.

The standard western diet of ultra processed food is the unhealthiest diet out there, that is followed by the vegan diet, which, contrary to popular belief is very unhealthy because it is lacking many essential nutrients that cannot be fully replicated by taking supplements. This is then followed by a vegetarian diet which is better than vegan and way better than the Standard American Diet (SAD). And then there is keto. Keto is by far the healthiest diet that exists. Now carnivore is the first step to being able to settle into a keto diet long term. If you've been eating SAD your whole life, you need to go full carnivore for one year per decade of your life to clean up your system and rejuvenate your mitochondria. But after that period, you can revert to a keto diet and maintain a very healthy lifestyle by doing that. Carnivore is the ultimate elimination diet that will heal your body. Just make sure to supplement electrolytes while you're doing the diet.

Was botox mentioned in the video? Seems obvious that she uses it or something like it.

This video came to my feed and I just knew the comments would be a comedy. Not disappointed…. Bio hacking WTF ! Your body is waaaay smarter than you are and you cannot hack it. As for the rest of the nonsense HA HA HA 🤣

You need to factor in that she clearly has a lot of botox. And probably a lot of filler too. So all of this health talk isnt the real factor about her image, there are for more significant aspects which were never mentioned... You can live on fast food and not have wrinkles when using modern dermal injections at her age.

Yeah I thought something was off about her face. Her lips barely move when she talks and her forehead is frozen.

That's from a book called Better Broths and Healing Tonics by Jill Sheppard Davenport and Dr. Kara Fitzpatrick - both the bone broth and the 'latte'. It is simply fantastic!

Is it the recipe named "Warm latte blend"? With these ingredients... Methyl donors: flax seed (choline), spinach (betaine, folate), DNA methylation adaptogens: apple (catechins, fisetin, quercetin), cinnamon (kaempferol), clove (kaempferol), ginger (catechins), pecan (catechins, EGCG))

We will never be able to learn from others like Julie and Dave Pasco, because Bryan Johnson owns the Rejuvenation Olympics and because of randoms like Julie and Dave, Johnson has shutdown the Rejuvenation Olympics so that no one else can push him down the list. The leaderboard still appears to be working, it is just not updating. Johnson is selling Blueprint.
