i remember watching my VHS of wallace and gromit going to the moon and eating moon cheese religiously as a child (that and the rubbadubbers). they were such a big part of my childhood! thanks for making a video about them, its always fun to watch lost media on my favorite characters
The original Grand Day out is quite fascinating really. Wallace would’ve been a flat capped moustachioed man, Gromit would’ve been a talking cat and the short would’ve been twice as long with a McDonalds on the moon.
Nice to have the video updated with more info on that mystery stage play. To think there could be a VHS out there somewhere with a clunky recording of the play on it. Would be awesome if it eventually came to light one day.
OMG OMG OMG! I have seen this and watch this video on TH-cam and it was awesome! I love Wallace and Gromit and the lost media pieces! I also love Wallace swearing in a video game by saying "bastard" and "arse"! I also love everything about those lost media pieces but my favorite one is the Loaf and Death one! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
As much as it was a brilliant idea to make Gromit mute, I do hope those recordings of his dialog eventually get found. And those flesh colored clown noses on the stage play Wallace and Gromit characters are somehow more unnerving than the comedy special spoof. Maybe because it is a spoof and it's supposed to have some intentional cringe to it, maybe because it makes Wallace and Wendelline look like they have huge goiters where their noses should be. Just... no.
Here's some other pieces of lost Wallace & Gromit media. In 1999 Wallace & Gromit where going to have there own racing game but sadly the game was cancelled before it was released. In 2002 another Wallace & Gromit video game was cancelled due to the characters looking like the characters from Wario Land 4 and Sonic Advance 2 and also because of the music being a lot like Titeuf Ze Gag Machine and Titeuf mega-compet.
I have a possible piece of lost media. It was some mobile game you could play on your phone, unsure if it was available on other devices. It was like this kung fu stickman game that had two different modes, a multiplayer mode where you fight a random player, when it was searching for players it would have a cool little mini game where you collected coins jump onto these ledges or something. The single player mode was way more different than multiplayer, you started out with a basic stickman character, you fought other stickmen that were characters you collect in a beat em up side scroller desert. In order to get more characters you need to fight the flurries of stickmen and mine resources, like getting wood or stone. The characters were stickmen with different body parts and were more powerful, like one of them had a pixelated arm or something.
Something else interesting to add a subtle changes in the audio of the wrong trousers between the original and re release. Some say it was licencing some say it was convenience but a handful of small details were lost.
As a Were-rabbit connoisseur myself, both the shots shown are alternative takes, the one with the hand transformation was a test, not an extension of the original scene. One additional unused shot missed is also the alternative one of Wallace growing rabbit teeth, maybe you could show that in a future video? Because I cannot find an HD version of the making of the were-rabbit behind the scenes footage.
When Wallace and Gromit are played by people in costumes, their costumes look creepy. The human looks more creepier than the dog Wallace looks ugly It looks creepy when they made him look live action in a mask.
yeah wallace and gromit really have becoming darker as they make next films. is indeed the darkest one they've made for sure. maybe they making a point of "there lifes are not always great. but at lest they made it out alright" I guess that's there style.
Which version of Mr Popo do you prefer? The passive Genie (maybe) that tends to the lookout. Or do you prefer the incarnation of pure evil whose only motive is malice?
Would they want to make a live action movie of Wallace and Gromit. If they are. They could make a CGI Gromit. If they plan it in the 1990s. I know who could play Wallace is Jim Carrey. He is quite good as the character in my mind.
Also if they want to do the Simpsons live action probably released in 2000. I have someone in mind to play Adam Sandler would of have been good. if they would have done it in the past.

Something I just found out is there’s a Wallace and Gromit escape room called “A grand way out” I didn’t know I needed till now.
