I can’t believe how long I’ve lived my life without knowing there was a cancelled Aardman film. Their take on the Tortoise and the Hare would be interesting, but if the script was deemed ‘a mess’ it might be good that we didn’t get it. I did know about the cut Gromit voice lines, but since Nick himself believes that they were lost i doubt we’ll ever see it. I’d be interested to see some of the cut Chicken Run circus stuff.
There’s an audio cassette release of Wallace & Gromit where Peter Sallis recounts the events of the original trilogy of shorts in character as Wallace. Many familiar and new sound effects and takes of music cues can be heard in the audio tape, including the sounds of Gromit panting and growling. I wonder if they were sounds taken from Peter Hawkins’s Gromit voice reel for a Grand Day Out?
I doubt that because Nick Park recently said in a Some Boi Online interview that he thought he left that Peter Hawkins audio at film school, so it seems like this audiobook release years later would have been unrelated to that.
@@Mewhen12369 Not really. Besides, it's better than a title that makes people think it'll be an educational film. "Today, we're gonna learn about rum making, hydrodynamics, and scurvy!"
Two things about Angry Kid: 1. The pork chop clip was made during season 1, most likely as promotional material. 2. There was a pilot episode of Angry Kid that was once released on the now defunct website "Atom Films", which also featured other AK episodes, some Rex the Runt episodes, and Aardman shorts like "Adam" and "Creature Comforts". The pilot itself featured the character standing in front of a brick wall and talking to the camera. First clip he messes around and insults the camera before hitting it. There are a few later shots, which I'm assuming were test shots, then the last clip was of him messing around with Pop Rocks before it literally blows up in his face.
At least we got a stop motion Abominable Snowman movie out of Laika. But how funny would it have been had this Aardman one got made. We'd have four animated yeti movies. I am a huge fan of stop motion, and it really is a shame their last theatrical movies didn't do well over here. Early Man, I can kind of see since the whole futbol plot and very specific references, especially to the British perspective of the sport pretty much would have gone over audiences' heads. it just sucks that Pirates and the first Shaun the Sheep film (we didn't get the second theatrically) just were there at the box office and quickly disappeared.
The original plot of Curse of the Wererabbit sounds pretty interesting. This would be VERY unlikely, but I would like to see Aardman make a director's cut based on the original plot.
Surprising that while talking about scrapped characters from Were-Rabbit there wasn't a mention of Madame Winniebago, a character that was supposed to appear in the movie as a foil to the Vicar but was ultimately cut, she still appears in the video game though.
The "Rex the Runt" Dreams episode appeared as a bonus feature on the French DVD for Chicken Run alongside a bunch of other odd Aardman shorts. Maybe by burning the disc to a PC it could be higher than 240p but I dont know for sure.
11:29 not gonna lie, i forgot rex the runt even existed, since i was too young to watch it when it was on lol. I do remember seeing some of the props in person on display in a DIY shop near cardigan in wales.
I kinda doubt those sheep models in the Shawn the Sheep pilot were the original ones used in “A Close Shave”, considering the 2005 warehouse fire Aardman Studios suffered. They’re more likely to be replicas, assuming if the pilot was made afterwards.
Will you cover Arthur Christmas because it has lost media such as a scene where Gwen looks in her stocking and found nothing which is featured in some trailers of the movie?
I’ve suddenly had interest in the original version of The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, mainly for the idea of Wallace being “Killed”, Gromit having no choice but to take Hutch in as his replacement and getting a chance to save his original master after hearing about the Were-Rabbit still alive.
I would like to point out that when Orlando Jones appeared on Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, he mentioned Tortoise and the Hare as one of the projects he was working on at the time.
that chat of the background would have added more depth to Dawn of the Nugget and maybe that could be the plot for a third Chicken Run film have a family reunion
I Actually Think that would be a Brilliant Idea if they Kept it there and Expanded on it Instead of what we got of the Final Cut of that Mediocre Sequel, it had so much Potential and yet it was Cut and Wasted.
An interesting development in terms of Tortoise vs Hare occurred just a few days ago, a crew t-shirt popped up online with what I believe is the only known image of the Hare puppet on it. At least we know what the chap looks like now 😅
honestly its crazy to hear someone talk about angry kid, I always thought everyone just forgot about it. would have loved to see the revival they did for it carry on
In the min 90s they put out a video Christmas card of a reindeer (possibly an early version of Robbie) dancing to "Guaglione" in the style of the Guiness ad of the same era.
I dunno. The Leprosy joke is funny because of how needlessly savage and inappropriate it is. If the issue was a moral one-that the joke is offensive to people with leprosy-then fair enough, I suppose. But that's not what the WHO claimed. Their concern is that people might avoid getting checked for leprosy because the film doesn't accurately depict the symptoms. Seriously though, who on Earth is turning to Aardman movies for medical advice?
I read somewhere that the alternative ending of Wallace & Gromit: The Great Vegetable Plot, Wallace failed to transform back into a human, accepts his fate and says goodbye to Gromit forever, and Gromit he stays with Hutch because he reminds him of his owner, is that true? Because it seems very dark and mature to me for what the franchise is.
Boy, I never knew Were Rabbit was going to be more darker then the film we go. I hope you might cover some lost media from Cosgrove Hall Films in the future.
Does footage of the warehouse fire count? I contacted Avon recently but they couldn't find it. As devastating as the event was, I think it's a significant event in both Aardman and animation history that could be unearthed, even if it was just a news report or something like that.
I remember saw an video of Tortoise and the Hare I forget if was on tumblr or twit/x I think was an animation panel or art school. can't remember where this was record but I do characters were doing interviews something like surf up.
I wonder if chicken run 3 *if there will be a 3rd film* will talk more into Rocky’s backstory and the circus he came from I mean that’s the only way I see the 3rd film going since it’s abit more original
Theory: the farmer is Wallace and gromit is bizzter and there is one day and one invention goes wrong horribleible wrong and getting out of the town and they change there names "farmer" and " bizzter " and what ever of his old life he put it on a pile and as farmer was a farmer now he bought more sheep and put Shawn with the sheep and the machine from the ware rabbit was in the pile and a hippy was looking there and the hippy turned on the machine on accident and the minds of the hippy and Shawn and the rest were all switch and the machine was a bit broken and some things were the same but still had an outcome and they knew they had keep there secret secret and bizzter is the one that knows and the rest of farm animals. P.s the first Shawn the sheep movie wound not be cannon with this theory.
Hey back again so video of the newwest Wallace and gromit movie so new theory so Wallace donated Shawn and the rest to the farmer or that truck with Shawn In it was the farmer truck he give them for something .
For a while at least 16 years ago aardman released the Aardman Darkside channel. They would upload a lot of alternative aardman shorts and pilots. Unsure if the chanel still exists but the trailer is still a thing... th-cam.com/video/v3ou6rXuw-E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jAOmFJ6eLNleLBSw

Comedy Veteran Writers Dick Clement & Ian Le Frenais wrote the First Draft
I’m a simple man, regardless of context I see Wallace with rabbit teeth in the thumbnail and I will watch
I'm well respected of your allegations, quota; they follow the same reasons as to why I decided to watch it too, haha
12:15 I can imagine this is what lead to Wallace inventing a "window-washer-matic"
F por Wallace😂

I wished the Pirates got a sequel considering about the Aardman and Netflix deal, but hey, a pirate can dream right?
I'm surprised you didn't mention the alternative cut of Flushed Away (with the hamster butlers, and with different charcter arcs)
I always found that wierd when I was growing up; the hamster butlers were in all the trailers, but then they just vanished entirely from the film.
16:23.
i love aardman and lost media!! this video is perfect!!! happy new year :)
The pirates movie title is odd, because over here in America it’s called “Pirates! Band of Misfits.”
Yeah, I Heard of that.
A few voices were changed too...
Yeah, the American title just sounds better.

Stage Fright kept from being creepy to me because the way Arnold says “YOU BUGGA!” made me die laughing.

Thank you to the guy who bought my 'Tortoise vs Hare' crew t-shirt!
It's not a "new image," as Lost Media Busters suggests. I have had it listed since 1 April 2024.
Was Tortoise Vs Hare originally meant for a 2002/2003 release?
Aardman’s biggest loss is when the fire burned down their storage facility with all the figures used for filming.
9:18 I know that are is subjective, but I would not subject myself to watching this. Quite possibly the ugliest character design I've seen.
