When I first heard about the A53 5G, I considered upgrading. But when I heard it would feature an Exynos processor, I went for the more affordable and more capable A52s 5G.

Chris, many thanks for this review. I took the plunge on a A53 after a few weeks of frustrations from a Redmi 10S after coming from an old Honor 10 View. I am actually very happy with the way the Samsung works, the user interface is nicer than the MIUI on the Redmi (yet not quite as intuitive as the old Android 10 MUI on the Honor) There are settings in this that are so logical, being able to do fairly simple stuff like unique tones for individuals and even per SIM (if you are one of those you uses a work sim and personal sim) then it makes the phone a joy to use. I can only afford midrange phones. I would really like to buy a Samsung device but compare to Xiaomi I can get better specs and features for the same price.
Would love a budget phone round up for GAMERS please. Don't know if you have seen how many 'AAA' titles are coming to Mobile. Warzone , Apex , R6S and many more.
I've been using this for 2 years now I'll tell you this. It does not do well in the rain. Had to buy another just the first year of using it after the mother board got destroyed by the rain. Doesn't do well in the heat either, the gum weakens fast. Side paint chips out. But it's overall good. Just good. Getting s22 next month so I'll finally get to drop it.
Smartthings can do quite a bit more than Google Home, though the best workup is hooking up devices in smartthings and then hooking smartthings to Google Home.
Weak processor and no charger mean I won't be buying this device although it ticks all the remaining boxes for me. Currently on OP7 Pro. Not a gamer. Battery life/fast charging and multimedia experience matter more to me. Will get the Realme X7 Max instead. 4 years software update seemed too nice to pass on initially, but then it turns out I've only kept my previous devices for 2 years then change them, so what good do 4 Android updates do me? Taking out the charger for "environmental reasons" is just corporate speak for more profit which pissed me off even more. Thanks, but I'll get a device from a brand that doesn't take its customers for tools.
I appreciate channel's like yours, always helps me pick my next phone. I've been using a Samsung A71 (first one got water damage within 1 week without being near water?) But second has been great so far, but well due for an upgrade 🤣😭
I sent back a Samsung Galaxy a52s, last week, when I heard you announce the Samsung Galaxy a53. I've had the a53 for a few days and here is the good and the bad. Yes, I miss having a headphone jack. Surprisingly the geekbench 5 test show the processor in the a53 is actually slower than the processor in the a52s. But faster than the Nord 10 phone that I had before. Samsung needs to stick with Qualcomm processors. Battery life also disappointing compared to the Moto g power up phones I had before which would easily class 3 days. On this a53 if I make it through the day it's just about right. I've actually reduced the refresh speed to 60 hertz, and that improves the battery. Good thing, the screen is bright.. Even better when working on the T-Mobile 5G network this phone is achieving 300 MB download speed, compared to my Moto g5g, and nord 10 phones, only achieving about 50 megabits download speed. Bottom line, it's a nice phone, with a nice display, much faster download speed, but poor battery performance. 0h, the SIM card tray is weird. You put the SIM card on one side, then flip it over to put the SD card on the other side. That is not written in the instructions.
@@agentsarcas6891 The phone is holding up fine. I immediately put a case on it. My first issue with the phone, is that I thought the 5000 milliamp batteries would give me days of use, like the one on my Old Moto G. Well, it doesn't. You can make it through the day, but that is about it. But the one advantage of the phone is it consistently pick up faster 5G cellular speed, than my Moto G (separate cell number), even if I am testing them at the same exact spot, getting the same cell tower signal. One strange thing to complain about. It is said that Samsung will give you unlimited updates for X amount of years. Well, that it definitely true, because it seems to update at least once every two months. It is not a negative, it is just that it sometimes ask me to update, when I don't want it to.
@@genet6255 thank you. I really glad to hear this from a user cus all I got was complaints from other users. The battery issue is certainly bothersome. Have you cleared the bloatware and uninstalled unwanted apps which run in the background, doing the same helped on my dad's F62 which had a same issue. But a day's worth of battery is good enough for me. Good to know that the phone has decent 5G reception, albeit it's not available in my city yet. It's definitely not strange to not want to update your phone. Updates could either break or improve the performance of the phone. But, isn't the once in 2 month update the security updates? Or are those os updates? Thank you very very much for your input. I've seen various complaints online but I'm glad it's not the same for everyone. Hope you have a wonderful day bud

Longevity and having your phone last over two years while still being viable. But since people switch phones often these midranges are great for people who switch sooner and don't want to pay a kidney. Other people buy flagships for build quality and flagship features like wireless charging, and Dex.
Hey man! Loving the channel! I was wondering if you could let me know whether or not you can move app storage to the SD on this phone? I had the A21s before which was great for the money, but you were unable to store apps on the SD card so it ate up the memory on it like nobodies business! Thanks!
In addition to that, i need strong security to those expensive phones. Somebody gonna stole and no track or trace of it. End of your money,It really pains.
Honestly, this one is pretty disappointing from Samsung… I just got my mom a brand new A52S 5G, a case, screen protectors, and a super fast charger for a little bit less than the retail price for the A53. And the A53 isn’t even better. You lose performance, you lose the headphone Jack, and if I can remember right, you lose the micro sd card slot too… The A52S is faster too. It will probably handle future updates better than the A53. Honestly I don’t know who this phone is really for…

I have the Samsung a52 for 2 years and I love the camera. Quality is great. A lot better than my iphone 7 plus I had, camera sucked.
Strange, when the A52 was launched in March 2021 ...
Smartthings can do quite a bit more than Google Home, though the best workup is hooking up devices in smartthings and then hooking smartthings to Google Home.
thanks bro, been waiting for this
That Exynos 1280 is a deal breaker, its a big downgrade on last year's model. Much better deals than this around
No its upgrade over a52 5g exynos 1280 has 430k antutu so upgrade over 750g and a53s will be upgrade over a53 it will come with dimensity 9000 or 888
I'm getting this phone tomorrow 🙂
Midrange phone with no charger and headphone jack bugger off Samsung
Yes i was going to buy the a73 an upgrade from my a70 but im not now im not paying for a charger separately. Plenty if other companies out there. 🇬🇧👍
Dont u have chargers, USB c headphones future, not 1988
I do like Samsung phones but the duplicate apps are rather annoying. Having to stuff them away in a folder or hide them is rather crude.
I buy to my wife a53 and she is very happy with him. And that's the only thing that is important.
I appreciate channel's like yours, always helps me pick my next phone. I've been using a Samsung A71 (first one got water damage within 1 week without being near water?) But second has been great so far, but well due for an upgrade 🤣😭
The camera’s so oppo!
Hello how is the phone holding up? I've bought this (yet to arrive) and I'm worried if I made a poor choice
Thanks! My wife has the new Samsung S22 Ultra, but I'm thinking I'd like something different (And more affordable).
Then look no further! 😀
Thanks for the review! Been looking to upgrade for a while, and am torn between the Pixel 6 and the A53, which one would you recommend? My priorities are battery life and a good camera.
Pixel 6 alllll the way, we're talking about 2 different leagues here
@@vicycuptor5285 but is the significant price bump worth it?
@@ArnasDanusas it's only worth it if you're interested in an overall better phone and if you have the money to go for it. If not, then get the A53.
@Scouse Shinobi but I'd pay a very similar price for the Pixel in my country
@@aymanelzain1271 what if they don't want samsung's UI version called OneUI. i guess the main reason they want the Pixel is due to the stock android experience
Please tell us where you got your girl in the rain screensaver! I love it!
I'm still a one plus fan and I'm watching this on my one plus 8
Hi Chris,
Lovely video. However, I would like to request you make a video about a comparison between A53 and S21 FE. Even just your recommendation is appreciated as both the phones are on the affordable range. Thank you!
Cheers.
Buy s21 FE
No more hesitate, a52s 5g is my next replacement of my oppo a5 2020
Was about to upgrade to this but the headphone jack has ruined it for me :(
do you know when will the a53s version come out ? and great video as always.
This !
I love the phone I just bought mine.
But there's no dark screen quard.
Surely they knew the headphone jack is a big deal for this A50 series. Hopefully they'll listen and bring it back for the A54
Fingers crossed🤞
A couple of years ago this would of been a flagship phone 📱 but today it’s a mid tier phone. So what’s the point of buying today’s flagship phones?
Longevity and having your phone last over two years while still being viable. But since people switch phones often these midranges are great for people who switch sooner and don't want to pay a kidney. Other people buy flagships for build quality and flagship features like wireless charging, and Dex.
Not with that chip inside it, never a flagship
Status? 💎💎💎
@@tlielthuddab9693 What do you mean?
Thanks for the review ... Going for "Awesome Peach" :) ... Have a great day ... Deffinetely helped in the "family" choice we've had here :) ...
With this being a replacement for the A52 and not the A52-S i wonder if they will launch a A53-S later in the year.
Don't hold your breath; I think the A52s was just introduced because the A52's processor was not competitive...
വളരെ നല്ല അവതരണം 👍🏻.well explained.
03:17 man I love how blunt this guy is.
I think your icons looks different, do you recommend a launcher or some app to change the look
Nice Review Chris :-) Do you know when the A33 5G is coming out in UK mate ??
Hey man! Loving the channel! I was wondering if you could let me know whether or not you can move app storage to the SD on this phone? I had the A21s before which was great for the money, but you were unable to store apps on the SD card so it ate up the memory on it like nobodies business!
Thanks!
you're using my oshi as your wallpaper, man of culture indeed
You had me at "clutched in my sweaty grasp" 😂
So happy that stereo speakers made it to midrangers
Finally i can consider a midrange tbh
Hi. I saw your review on the Sony Xperia 5 III, between this and that, which would you recommend? Thank you for your time.
I need to know where you get these anime wallpapers from..thanks in anticipation... Nice review by the way
Dude just tell me where do u get these cool wallpapers I love ur videos ❤
A53 vs A52s comparison video?
Downgrade is the new upgrade
🤣😂🇬🇧👍
🤣🤣🤣 thanks; I needed that! 🙏🙏🙏
The Blue colour is pretty Awesome 2:20 🙂
Love your anime wallpapers don't you? I got this phone and serves well in the near 1 month in my possession.
You can buy an adapter from C to jack adapter, BTW.
Honestly I don’t know who this phone is really for…
Hi really enjoy your vids, very down to earth. Can I ask a question, I’m new to android and have decided to migrate over from iOS. I have just purchased this phone, I see there’s a general consensus that it’s not much of an upgrade from the a52, having never had that phone, will I still find it a good performing phone. Also coming from an iPhone XR. Cheers mate also not using it from gaming, just day to day activities
1:04 dang im a simp of hololive indonesia and you put kobo's wallpaper already? this man is based 👍
Thanks for the information. Very helpful. Just got myself one, not because I want a new 📱 but I broke the screen on my A70 BAD!🤬 since I have an additional SD card in my A70,is there a slot for this in A53?
I have the A52S and I think I’ll stick it with for now. The 53 seems decent but I think I’ll wait and upgrade to a z flip or something
Hi,
How does it compare to the ulefone power armor 13? I just got that but it's starting to have quite a lot of frustrating oddities coming up and i want to think really well to make a good choice if i would change phones.. it does have 8 cores but at half the a53 has but i'd like a somewhat professional opinion on it..
Tech spurt.what do you prepared samsung a53 5g or xiaomi redmi note 11 pro 5g interms of gaming.
Thanks for this review. I got this phone as a gift and its almost a month. I thought I should buy a charger, a haven't charge it yet. Can someone tell me how to charge this initially. Sorry I might sound stupid for staying that long without using it coz I was so busy..
I'm tempted, coz I'm on a budget , so I'm looking wots best budget phone out there . I'm currently using note 10+
what? thats all you get in the box?
Yes
@@mongpurechang8459 thanks for responding 2 years late
I wouldn't bother with this handset in my opinion if you are in this price range I'd fully recommend the one plus Nord 2 5g
I've really enjoyed this handset from day one and it feels like a much more expensive handset
I'd still recommend the A52s over this one.
Your wallpapers ate awesome
Wait, focal pickup on the front camera? Do you mean it does have autofocus? Because the S21 FE doesn't even have focus on the front camera. That would be something.
I buy samsung a52s 5g.
why when I zoom the picture there is a lot of noise.?
Any info about the A73?
