    I've had my A53 since 31st March now and I agree it's a good mid range phone. However I've noticed it does stutter, the 120hz refresh rate particularly struggles. Apps like messenger etc are fine but Spotify seems to take its time to open. No issues with gaming. I've been a avid iphone fan for years, however ive just got rid of the iphone 13 mini (battery was poor). This is my first personal android phone and I'm pleasantly surprised! Screen and photos particularly impressive. I've no regrets swaping👍

    • @1966wilky
      @1966wilky ปีที่แล้ว

      I have an iPhone 6s Plus and when I’m out and about I get a paltry 30 mins of battery life. Nice to know this Galaxy model is a bit sturdy and can cope with being dropped.
      I had an a12 model for less than a month and it slipped from my lap to the concrete ground very gently but that was enough to shatter the screen.

    • @1966wilky
      @1966wilky ปีที่แล้ว

      @J L I have now! And a tempered glass screen protector. But not before I’d paid fifty quid to get it fixed and then dropping it again! 🤦‍♀️

    I've had my A53 for about 8 months now. It's a great phone - certainly compared to my S8 which had some awful battery - the display is phenomenal value, great battery life, Bluetooth works well with my headphones. Performance is something you notice day-to-day but definitely not something you should switch phones for so long as you're not a power user. Would definitely recommend 👌

    After watching this review I bought the phone! I needed a reserve phone incase I dropped my S20 Ultra. I've been getting a bit annoyed with the Ultra since the last update were the camera seems to have been ruined. It won't focus properly and was really good before the update. Coming back to this A53. Put my SIM in it after buying it from Argos (here in the UK), and I'm gobsmacked, after having the flagship phones for years! It is shockingly good for its price point. I don't think I'll ever buy high end again.

    As a S20FE 5G user, this A53 has the same size screen. It has a few advantages - bigger battery and couple of years support, being that it starts 1.5 years later. As Chris mentioned, the processor is a bit of a step back. My SD865 is snappy, with the camera being responsive. Talking of cameras, no telephoto is a negative for me. I have used the wireless and reverse wireless charging, but I could charge my Galaxy Buds using a USB-C to USB-C cable. If I had to replace my S20FE right now, then I would consider the A53.

    I purchased this phone last week. Inserted a 400gb card in it. The 5000ma battery still doesn't compare to the batteries in the Moto G Power series of phones. I was spoiled by their 3 day longevity with a 5000ma battery.
    Even my Nord 10, or my previous Moto G 5g phones, don't give me the battery endurance I want.
    I purchased the Samsung a52s, a few weeks earlier. But sent it back when I knew this phone was coming out. But based on geekbench scores the A52s was faster, too.
    I'm a little disappointed. But the one reason I keep this phone. Is it gets much faster download speeds from T-Mobile cellular network, then the Moto G5 G did or even better than my Nord 10 phone.
    They were getting 15 to 50mb download speeds from 5G antennas that I knew were nearby. This phone is getting download speeds between 250 and 350mn from the same antennas. That is the reason I'm keeping it.
    Lastly, I quickly change the screen refresh rate to 60 MHz to preserve the battery and make it last at least through the end of the day.

    I bought the 8Gb/256Gb version of the A52s one day before the A53 was announced (didn't know about it), however in hindsight it seems that the SD SoC is a better performer and yeah, some of us still have decent wired headsets that we want to be able to plug in to our blowers Samsung! I don't have UI 4.1 yet but I'm sure it's on the way. All being said, Samsung do make great midrange phones!

  • @Ash_G
    @Ash_G 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought the A52 because my local country dealer was selling it £100 cheaper. So I decided that having a free case, free charger, 3.5mm jack for radio, 500mAh smaller battery and a processor with fewer power cores was OK because I don't play games at all.
    Weirdly, CPU-Z says my A52 has a 732G Snapdragon in it and that its battery is LiOn instead of LiPo. Must be an error? I also have impression my A52 came with Android 12 pre-installed. There was a 3h gap that I left the phone unattended and it had all its automatic update on.
    The GPS is very snappy even from cold and no WiFi. The magnetometer was a nightmare to recalibrate but GPS Test reports it is "high" accuracy now.
    The battery experience is very good. For a non-gamer like myself, i.e. web, YT, twitter and VLC, the battery lasted a long time even in less than 14% stage. I use the 85% battery protection mode and am happy with battery life so Imagine what 5000mAh of A53 would do. Even S22 or S22+ don't have that much non-removeabke power plus they have huge screens.
    The A52 has a horrible fingerprint scanner compared to a physical one. But you will get used to it fast. Let's hope that A53 has a faster under-display scanner and 5nm Exynos CPU doesn't get too toasty.

    I have 3 lines. One currently has a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and the other two has a Galaxy A32. I'm going to upgrade one of the A32 to a A53, even though the A54 is coming out soon. I prefer the A53 over the A53 since it has more cameras and a bigger screen. I'm only going to be using the A53 for AI art apps, and general use like TH-cam, and basic web browsing, so it should be sufficient I think. I haven't had a problem with my A32 phones, so the A53 should be a nice upgrade for a midrange device.
