i’ve been on all the coasters you mentioned at the beginning of the video and even i can easily deem skyrush the most extreme coaster in the world. it’s my #3 overall coaster. also, i agree that the restraints aren’t nearly as bad as people say. i think they’re find. incredible ride!
This was the coaster that brought me into the coaster enthusiast world. I remember finding out about Skyrush while not doing my work in study hall. I rode it and it blew me away with its violent airtime and powerful laterals. I have more than 500 laps on this beast, and it never gets old.
I’m craving this coaster so much, it’s been 2 years since I experienced the airplane crash and got my legs amputated, I’m rly trying to get to Hersheypark again this year cuz Candymonium opened, but the main reason is just to lap skyrush
After the second airtime hill, Skyrush just kinda meanders around, and the Stengel dives don't do anything for me. Also, there are only 3 good airtime hills on the ride, and Twisted Colossus does literally everything skyrush does but better.
I think you perfectly explained why I love it so much: it acts like it's trying to kill you! LOL, I absolutely love the feeling of flying out of my seat; it's a death-defying experience that I can't get enough of. I am SO LUCKY to have Skyrush in my home park! It's my favorite coaster in the park. The best seat is in the back on a wing, but the front is pretty cool to experience the drop from.
Skyrush is by far the most intense coaster I’ve ridden and is also my 3rd favorite coaster. It’s a masterpiece. It feels like your body will rip in half on every airtime hill and snap.
This was an awesome review, and definitely agree with all that you said! I live 2 hours from Hershey and I rode it in 2012 when the lift hill wasn’t slowed down at the top. Oh my god, if you didn’t think it could be any more intense... it was. But no matter what it’s still the most intense coaster I have ever been on tied with I305. I love it. I’m glad the restraints don’t bother me but I can completely understand how they do for some people, some of my friends hate this ride. Looking forward to going back to Hershey, and hopefully Storm Runner will be running next year!
The one and only time I rode this ride, I actually remember being relieved that the lap bars were so tight because I was terrified of the drop and I knew there was no way I was about to fly out lol
Wow! Great Review! I have been seriously underrating this coaster due to watching too much Airtime Thrills lol. I don't mind bad restraints that much, and I love a mix of all forces, negative, positive, and lateral on a ride, so this looks like something that i would absolutely love.
8:44 yep. Every time rode it I was able to get a little bit of room which made the first drop one of the best airtime moments I've ever experienced, but the rest of the ride was brought down by the stapling from the first turn
Great Review! SkyRush is in my Top 5 US bucket list coasters. Can't wait to see how this compares in terms of intensity with X2 which is at my home park. I'm hoping that 2021 is the year I get to Hershey.
Got three rides in on this (all in a back row wing seat) when I visited for my first ever visit in 2019. Definitely a fantastic coaster and is currently in my top 5 of coasters I have ridden!
What are your thoughts about Skyrush having new restraints? Are you happy that Skyrush has new restraints or do you miss the old restraints. I’ve never ridden this coaster but I would probably be happy than Skyrush got new restraints because it’s makes the intensity more enjoyable. I probably would have not liked it that much with the old restraints because I’m pretty sure I would have found it painful and it probably wouldn’t be my type of ride with the old restraints. But I think with the new restraints I would love it because of its airtime and raw intensity. Overall do you think Skyrush will move up in your rankings because of the new restraints or do you think it’ll move down a few spots?
How do you think the ride is going to shake out with those new restraints? The park is claiming that the pain issue has been entirely addressed so I'll take their word on that, but I wonder if these new restraints will have the same kinda free feeling that the old restraints provided. I've never been on skyrush with the previous restraints but I've heard the new ones are similar to Pantheon's, which I remember feeling very free.
My thoughts exactly! This was a top 3 bucket list US coaster, along with Phantom & Voyage, before last week. It certainly delivered! Unfortunately, I did feel pain from the restraints, especially on my left leg, which must sit slightly higher than my right, so it took all the force. It did hurt, and it left a bruise, but it was all worth it for that kind of insanity. The rattle did bother me, which I have never said about any other Intamin. Even back row on Kingda Ka was no problem for me. But this rattle would give me a brief headache on some rides. So I'm a bit torn on whether to put this in my top 10 or perhaps even out of my top 25. Still, that rain ride I got on Skyrush is one of the best single rides I've had on any coaster: no rattle, and the airtime felt like perfection. This is one of the few coasters that I keep my arms down on, because it's just that crazy.
I have used some of the exact same descriptive terms you used when talking about this coaster. Skyrush really feels like it's trying to kill you, and I can't get enough of it!
Just rode this for the first time today. I've ridden almost 150 coasters and I don't think I have ever experienced any coaster like Skyrush. You really do feel like you are going to be ripped in half at some points, but I loved it. I didn't expect to love this coaster as much as I did.
My favorite ride ever, it absolutely throws you around with its insane jumps from very small negative g’s and large positive g’s. It really does feel like it’s trying to kill you, especially between the first drop and second hill. I love it
I’m working on my own review of this ride. And I’m stuck on my memory on what the forces were in the drop for the front row. I remember it being good floater airtime. Does that sound accurate?
I rushed there in October 2020 when the park opened on a Saturday and got the front row because everyone had filled into the regular queue. Need to ride it in the back row but I was with my mother who was concerned for her neck, she surprisingly loved the front.
Nice review. I haven't been to Herseypark since Lightning Racer was brand new. Nearly everything you said about Sky Rush could apply to Wonder Woman Golden Lasso for me. I do wish they didn't have to build Sky Rush right over the top of the Comet. Seems like it would make the Comet feel less like a trip back in time. Candymonium looks fun.
5:17 I believe this path is back open! When I visited Hersheypark in July we were able to walk right next to the lake and under Skyrush. But, I know nothing about Hersheypark so that may be a different pathway altogether 😅 we took it from Skyrush to Candymonium/Chocolate World and back.
I just rode for the first time this week. I absolutely love this coaster. Like you said, it throws you like a rag doll. This is one of the only coasters I can think of where I thought about holding on. Unfortunately, the restraints got to me. My thighs never recovered. My first ride was my best, but then it left my thighs slightly sore. Each ride added more pain. After 4 rides and going to bed, I still woke up with discomfort. I could only manage 2 more rides the next day before I could not take it any more. I also agree the restraints add to the openness, especially the laterals. I’m willing to accept this is one of the best coasters in the world, it is just not rerideable to me. But that’s okay, because my 6 rides, especially my first 3, I will remember forever.
Skrush is one of the few elite coasters that I have ridden, but i agree with almost everything you said. I didnt get that second pop of extreme ejector on the first drop. I guess I only got 2 rides so I must’ve not noticed it. I do agree that it is a wild ride full of strong sustained ejector airtime and insane intensity. The low to the ground turns by the water also did freak me out. This is just a ton of fun. It ranks 3rd on my all time list.
Canobie Coaster I did not, I rode once in row 2, once in row 6. Not the best spots. Looking to go back to hersheypark for candymonium and i will be sure to get re rides
@@noahberlin3953 Definitely ride Skyrush in the back row. That's where you experience the drop in full. Even if they're assigning rows, they will let you wait for the back if you request it.
Thanks! The only reason I got that shot was because Hershey closed before sunset and I had to kill time while my Primanti's sandwich was being prepared.
This ride is just insane from start to finish. Rode this a few weeks ago for the first time in a few years and it hauls lol. Love it but hate the restraints
I rode it two days ago. Hadn't ridden it in years. An absolute adrenalin rush. I agree with you, it is brutal but in a good way. The airtime that it was giving was other worldly. You are on point Skyrush is legit trying to kill when it is running at the end of a hot day. I got on three straight times and was laughing my head off at the insane ejector air. It is an absolute masterpiece.
Rode it myself for the first time in years too. Was the first actual coaster I have ridden in like 7 years. Sat on the left most seat and I saw stars at one point XD. Now that Wildcat's Revenge is out and I've ridden it, it's a toss-up for me if Skyrush or WR is my favorite coaster there
I’ve never been on skyrush. I’m so excited because I think I’m making a big roller coaster trip next year. Kings island, SFGADV, Hersheypark, and holiday world. I’ll see if this actually happens but I’m so excited to visit this park! It’s flooded with intamins
I rode it yesterday and it well it was awesome I couldn’t ride it more then 4 rides in the back row because it gave me a headache, it seems to have gotten a little rougher
I am going back to quite a few of your older reviews, cause in 2023 when I rode many of these coasters for the first ever time, I am really enjoying comparing our opinions, from one true enthusiast to another. And yes, Skyrush was NUTS, and a BIG yes, boy oh boy did I get airtime on *this* Intamin hyper. You are so right about the first drop, it has 2 pops of ejector. I did as many rides as I could within 2 days whilst making sure I rode everything I haven't ridden before multiple times, although next time I am getting fast track express for Hershey. I avoided lightning racer as I've done it to death and superdooperlooper and only did one ride on Comet. Everything else was fair game, even did 2 on the boomerang. One great thing though was that Skyrush had less wait than the other coasters. And yes it wasn't that comfy, but honestly I found it tolerable even on my thick upper legs and tall frame, and as far as roughness, well that level of shuffle is not even something I talk about, it's totally fine. Now, no, I did not grey out. Mike, can you humour me and try keeping your mouth closed next time you ride this, just one time try it for the entire ride and see if it mitigates the grey outs? As said elsewhere, Titan and Goliath are the only rides that really cause me proper grey outs, but on Superman at home I was able to completely avoid the minor grey outs I initially had on my earlier rides, by closing my mouth. Someone explained the science behind it to me before, I have forgotten how it works, but it works. Just try it. I give Skyrush a 9.5/10 which is the highest I have rated any Intamin hyper with SFNE a 9. PS If you get enough room from ride op, try keep arms under restraints the whole way. You have to be willing not to hold on at any point for this to work, There's an angle and trick to it so you don't block your airtime with your arms/hands. Keep the restraints pushed up. If I ever meet you by fluke one day at Hershey or other rides that staple, I'll show you. In fact, I can probably take Skyrush to a 10/10, but my true 10's are for Iron Gwazi in the back seat and the like. However, Skyrush is close to perfection. It's weird for me that my 2 favourite Intamin non looping coasters in the world both have unique "one off" restraints I don't find comfortable, but there it is. Comfortable or not, they allow my body to get extreme airtime, which I rate as very important. BTW, I didn't have any issue with shin guards on WCR even at my height. They don't bother me at all. Hershey Park is my favourite overall amusement park in the United States and top 5 worldwide for me (amusement, not theme park). Such a wonderful place to visit again and again. I mean they even have a good invert for crying out loud. They have everything! Edit, what other park has a hydraulic lauynch Intamin, a multi looper intamin, a hyper Intamin, an invert B&M, hyper B&M, 2 respectable woodies, a classic Anton looper AND an RMC all in the one park? Such an amazing place. The experience for me was a 20/10, seriously.
@@CanobieCoaster oh they were the new ones? Interesting. When did they change them and in 2023 july, is that what I definitely would have had? maybe that's why they weren't so bad for me. I was kind of wondering why people would say they were the worst lap bars in the world. Not comfortable but really not that bad either. I had 14 skyrush rids in my 2 days there.
This is easily a top 3 coaster for me! It should be on my number one because of how almost perfect this ride is! The airtime is crazy, the first drop destroys every one for me, the laterals are ridiculously insane and the whole ride itself is just pure amazing!
Unfortunately, because Skyrush is exactly what I love on coasters, very few coasters exist that can beat Skyrush. The average amusement park visitor doesn't exactly want a ride as intense as Skyrush or I305, which are my top 2 coasters.
Just outta curiosity, how old are u because im 17 and u r around my height and weight. And another question, where does skyrush rank on ur overall ranking of ur coasters youve done
What do you think about the restraints and the panini pressures on Skyrush at Hersheypark, Coast Rider at Knott's Berry Farm, and Thunderbolt at Luna Park?
I love this coaster I thoroughly enjoy the ride experience of sky rush. It’s the most intense ride in the park I’d say and I have been one of the few bigger guys that isn’t pained by the restraints. Excellent review i found myself laughing at your choices of descriptions because I wholeheartedly agree with you on how violent and intense this ride is, but I absolutely love it. It and storm runner are my para favorites at Hersheypark.
My theory behind the second pop of airtime: the cable moves you fast enough that the crest is like an airtime hill, as soon as the forces from that let up you experience another strong pop of airtime from the drop.
Skyrush was the first coaster that genuinely scared me. That second Stengel dive is what really scared me the first time I rode it since I had my hands up and I was thrown to the side so violently, I thought I was going to fly out of the train. It was insane. That was back in 2014 and since then, I've ridden this thing a number of times. I do have a love, hate relationship with it. I totally agree it's a back row coaster and the drop is unbelievable. I also agree it's an incredible ride and I've gained more respect for it over the years. However, I do hate the restraints on it. I wonder how it would run with Intamin's traditional hyper/giga coaster trains like Millennium Force has. I could see it being better yet not as good in different ways. I've had rides that are glass smooth and not bad with the restraints since I've learned how to ride it, but I've also had rides with a very strong rattle that's given me a bad headache after just one ride and has effectively ruined my day at the park. The wing seats in particular seem to have a worse rattle. People complain about Wildcat's roughness, but I've honestly had much rougher rides on Skyrush than I have Wildcat. B&M's trains are so much more comfortable and I really do think the ride could be about as good with restraints more similar to them. But anyway, this coaster does seem to have it's good and not so good days.
Some people dont appreciate the fact that them restraints are part of the reason why skyrush feels like its trying to kill you and that feeling is exactly what makes us wanna ride to begin with
I think many people found the restraints on Skyrush painful, and you, Canobie Coaster? Thunderbolt at Luna Park (Coney Island was also criticized by many for the tight restraints, and Coast Rider at Knott's Berry Farm was placed in your video of top 25 worst roller coasters in the world (2020). How do you compare those three, do you think they were all painful or bearable?
My latest visit to Hersheypark, i only waited 3 minutes to get on the ride so i rode it again and again like 5-6 times. Honestly i feel like the restraint doesn’t matter to me on rollercoasters. Velocicoaster had painful restraints when i rode it and it’s my favorite rollercoaster. Superman at SFNE has like the most painful restraints i have ever felt and it’s my 2nd fav at the park under wicked cyclone.
Just rode it yesterday. Having rode I305 as well, it feels almost like a mini version, with lap bars and more airtime hills. Yea... try to imagine I305 with lap bars. Found there was a consistent grey-out moment on it as well, though obviously not as strong as the grey-out turn on 305.
This reminds me so much of el toro: amazing ejector Airtime Bad restraints the middle sections of both being kinda underwhelming both are pretty rough and they also have some of the best names on any coaster (I just love the name skyrush and el Toro just sounds awesome)
I've heard some people say to slide all the way back. Others say to slide forward. I don't think there's any universal secret. I think it's luck of the draw if the restraints bother you.
I went on Skyrush the first day I ever rode a rollercoaster. It was my first time visiting HP outside of the water park and I planned to stay off the coasters because I was scared until I realized that's almost all there was Skyrush was one of the last ones I rode on and it was *amazing!* I think I rode it twice. Hope I get to ride it again someday
The new restraints at night put this at my no. 1 past el toro and i305 and WCR. This could very well be the best coaster in the world, and the back left wing is the seat that tries to send you to heaven. The night rides I got single handedly shot it up 6 spots for number one
The lap bar rests differently on everyone and that will dramatically change your experience. While I personally don't find Skyrush painful, I absolutely see how it could be for others.
I sat on this thing for 90 minutes during single train operation. I only missed one lap during that time because I had to pee. My lap hated me, but, later in the day, I sat on it for 5 more rides in a row. Love it. It just needs Velocicoaster restraints. With those restraints, it would bump Velocicoaster down to my #2 steel. You have probably seen that the pathway has been reopened.
Canobie Coaster would say: This hyper coaster was intended to be the park's marquee attraction for years to come. While most roller coaster enthusiasts praised the ride's relentlessness from day one, many parkgoers found the coaster to be...
The second time I rode it front row I came up so far off my seat on the first drop that it actually freaked me out and my eyes started tearing up I don’t know why and I’m happy you mentioned it because I thought I was the only one
The second airtime is likely a tiny, barely or even non visible kink in the first drop's profile. For those who haven't ridden it, if you watch the rider cam POV on coaster studios (can't link as comment gets auto deleted), you will see when it happens. I believe there's an ever so slight kink in the first drop that does it, as I don't have any other explanation. Or it could be the way the pull out begins maybe. Not entirely sure.
I've read a number of reviews of this coaster, and obviously not all roller coaster enthusiasts love such uncomfortable intensity or the coaster would be universally loved; it isn’t. I appreciate your recognition that it's a niche ride. I like your reviews and have commented on them before, but your commentary on this coaster makes your summary “a ride experience like no other” read like a wicked understatement. Here are some of your descriptions: “feels like it’s trying to kill you; does some violent things to your body; gray-out inducing turns and vicious laterals; treats your body like a rag doll; trying to rip your upper body from your legs; a glorious and enjoyable car accident; borderline violent ejector air time; swatted like a fly; viciously thrown; earned the name thigh crush.” In some circles, this enjoyment is called masochism. For me personally, the words “pain,” “violent,” and “roller coaster” should never be in the same phrase. You've given fair warning to me and others who think roller coastering should be thrilling yet fun: 'turn back all ye fun seekers who are watching this.' Thanks, but no thanks to Skyrush. I'll see you at Lightning Racer.
I competely understand why this ride isn't for everyone. The crazy intensity and restraints can be too much for many. For others, it gives an experience you can't and likely will never get elsewhere.
To those who don’t experience pain with Skyrush’s restraints: be happy that the proportions of your body have protected you, but DON’T tell everyone else that “It’s not that bad,” as if it’s just a matter of you being a little tougher. No, you’re not tougher. You’re lucky that your proportions protected you. Otherwise, it’s not a matter of toughness. After my first ride on this coaster, my entire legs were numb after I got off and they stayed that way for ten minutes. Eventually I marathoned this coaster (because it’s a phenomenal ride), but on my worst rides it literally (and I do mean literally) felt as if each airtime hill was in danger of breaking my legs across the thighs. It felt incredibly wrong. After I left Hershey that day, the deep-tissue, intense soreness in my thighs lasted a FULL THREE DAYS, no exaggeration at all. I still love Skyrush because it’s just that good a ride, but don’t tell people that the restraints aren’t that bad. They are the worst restraints in coasterdom, and if you don’t think that, then you’re just lucky, not tough.
I'm definitely fortunate the restraints don't cause much trouble for me, but that's why I cautioned there are plenty of people who find these restraints painful. I tried to illustrate the point you will be stapled and how it feels like the ride tries to rip your torso from your legs. There's no trick I've found to riding Skyrush; the restraints will come down hard and focus the forces in a narrow section of your thighs. Like you said, everyone is different and there really is no way to tell if you'll have an issue with Skyrush's restraints until you ride it.
Canobie Coaster Oh, yeah, I definitely wasn’t criticizing you at all. But I was complaining about the hundreds of people I’ve seen who seem to think that since they didn’t experience pain, nobody else really does. (One appeared in your comment section after I wrote the above, predictably.) As for a “trick,” the best hope is to try to scoot forward so that the restraints come down as close as possible to the hips and not across the middle of the thighs. But sometimes it was just physically impossible to do this and still get the restraint to close. And other times the op would come along and insist on stapling me anyway.
I think it has to do with weight and how much force is produced. On most coasters, they would be good to excellent, but there could be exceptions. If I hold on some and reduce the force, they're fine unless they don't release partially waiting to get back in. Not as bad as El Toro's sensors or I305's stomach crush for me.
spentron1 The single worst stapling I ever had was my first ride ever on El Toro. Funny, because while the ride always threatens to be another stapling, I’ve since marathoned El Toro for a two-hour ERT with no problems. 🤷♂️
i’ve been on all the coasters you mentioned at the beginning of the video and even i can easily deem skyrush the most extreme coaster in the world. it’s my #3 overall coaster. also, i agree that the restraints aren’t nearly as bad as people say. i think they’re find. incredible ride!
I definitely can see why people would find the restraints painful, but they don't ruin the ride for me. I love how intense it is.
Same. X2 used to be my favorite until Skyrush bumped it. They’re all in my top 5 cause I love intense wild rides.
How is Skyrush more extreme than the Multidimension coasters?
This ride separates the men from the boys
It's intense, that's for sure!

Pure coincidence!

Skyrush is by far the most intense coaster I’ve ridden and is also my 3rd favorite coaster. It’s a masterpiece. It feels like your body will rip in half on every airtime hill and snap.
It's insane.
@2:04 you can see perhaps why the first drop is so crazy…. The profile of it is uneven. It’s not a single parabolic or ballistic curve
That would make sense.

Can’t wait to go to Hersheypark for the first time and ride Skyrush next year. Skyrush has been on my bucket list for so long!
It's as good as it's reputation suggests!
Great Review! SkyRush is in my Top 5 US bucket list coasters. Can't wait to see how this compares in terms of intensity with X2 which is at my home park. I'm hoping that 2021 is the year I get to Hershey.
Hope you can make it there!
This is my second favorite coaster with i305 is my number 1
Both are uber intense.
I love the ejector and laterals especially in the winged seats. For me this stands out due to the drop. It’s my favorite traditional drop.
Me too!
I visited HP for the first time a few weeks ago and ride it 4 times. The back seat, far right side was fantastic!
I like back left best.
Got three rides in on this (all in a back row wing seat) when I visited for my first ever visit in 2019. Definitely a fantastic coaster and is currently in my top 5 of coasters I have ridden!
The ride is wild.
Great review. SkyRush is incredible and my favorite steel coaster. Best airtime of any coaster.
The airtime is arguably the strongest of any coaster!

I never had a big issue with the old restraints. I probably will like the ride similarly.
You, MRC, and Coasterwatch all released a skyrush video each at the EXACT same time
Pure coincidence!
I think NOT
How do you think the ride is going to shake out with those new restraints? The park is claiming that the pain issue has been entirely addressed so I'll take their word on that, but I wonder if these new restraints will have the same kinda free feeling that the old restraints provided. I've never been on skyrush with the previous restraints but I've heard the new ones are similar to Pantheon's, which I remember feeling very free.
I think it will make the ride more comfortable, but it should still be extremely wild.
@@CanobieCoasterHere's hoping! I'm going on april 6th so we shall see
My thoughts exactly!
It took me a while to keep my hands up on Skyrush. Those Stengel dives always terrify me.
This was the very first roller coaster I went on in my life and I loved it
That's an ambitious one to start with.
@@CanobieCoaster Yea well my friends kind of peer pressured me into going on it but now I love coasters so i’m happy I did it
I have used some of the exact same descriptive terms you used when talking about this coaster. Skyrush really feels like it's trying to kill you, and I can't get enough of it!
There really isn't another coaster quite like it!
Just rode this for the first time today. I've ridden almost 150 coasters and I don't think I have ever experienced any coaster like Skyrush. You really do feel like you are going to be ripped in half at some points, but I loved it. I didn't expect to love this coaster as much as I did.
It's incredible.
And do you like rough and smooth feelings?
Like both
Prefer rough
Prefer smooth
Prefer smooth
My favorite ride ever, it absolutely throws you around with its insane jumps from very small negative g’s and large positive g’s. It really does feel like it’s trying to kill you, especially between the first drop and second hill. I love it
It's intense.
I’m working on my own review of this ride. And I’m stuck on my memory on what the forces were in the drop for the front row. I remember it being good floater airtime. Does that sound accurate?
I almost always ride in the back. It probably does.
I rushed there in October 2020 when the park opened on a Saturday and got the front row because everyone had filled into the regular queue. Need to ride it in the back row but I was with my mother who was concerned for her neck, she surprisingly loved the front.
I do the same if I ever see the front row empty, but I do prefer the back.
That first stangle dive how ever you pronounce the first word is so fun
Werner Stengel was a great designer!
Wonder Woman's restraints are different in that it's most uncomfortable on my shoulders and not my thigh.
This ride scares me in the best way.
Agreed!
I could say the same about El Toro.
They reopened in after 2020.
one of airtime thrills favorite roller coasters
I know he hates the restraints.
Riding it tomorrow, not sure if it’s better with lap bars higher, or pressed against legs to yank me down
Have fun!
This is a hard ride to marathon with the restraints and intensity.
Did you ride it in the very back? That's where the double pop is experienced.
How much more intense is the ride and airtime compared to Gale Force?
This ride has far stronger laterals and there is more ejector airtime. Both have similar positives.
That sunset video clip is so good
Thanks! The only reason I got that shot was because Hershey closed before sunset and I had to kill time while my Primanti's sandwich was being prepared.
This ride is just insane from start to finish. Rode this a few weeks ago for the first time in a few years and it hauls lol. Love it but hate the restraints
It's insane!

@@CanobieCoaster on Superman sfne a phone flew put and nearly hit me, people need to learn to stop being dumbasses sometimes
Glad to report, back pathway is back open!
Awesome!
I love the power.
Enjoy!
I rode it yesterday and it well it was awesome I couldn’t ride it more then 4 rides in the back row because it gave me a headache, it seems to have gotten a little rougher
It does have a shake at points.
Can you please redo this review? Skyrush's restraints were updated this year.
I may once I ride the updated Skyrush if my thoughts change dramatically.
“This ride may be the king of laterals”
*laughs in flying aces*
Flying Aces has wicked lats too.
I usually keep my mouth shut and drink water. Yet I can still greyout. I likely will have a re-review for this soon after trying the new restraints.
Is the next coaster Great Bear
That one will come eventually, but the next coaster review will be another similarly intense ride.
Canobie Coaster Will it be Talon because I’ll be riding it tomorrow if the weather behaves for me and my dad
Not Talon either. It'll be a coaster abroad. Hope the weather works out!
Canobie Coaster ok
The second jolt of ejector you feel down the first drop caught me off guard even on the second ride when I knew it was coming
It's nuts.
This is easily a top 3 coaster for me! It should be on my number one because of how almost perfect this ride is! The airtime is crazy, the first drop destroys every one for me, the laterals are ridiculously insane and the whole ride itself is just pure amazing!
I'm intrigued to see how the experience changes with the new restraints.
Unfortunately, because Skyrush is exactly what I love on coasters, very few coasters exist that can beat Skyrush. The average amusement park visitor doesn't exactly want a ride as intense as Skyrush or I305, which are my top 2 coasters.
I see you value intensity.
Just outta curiosity, how old are u because im 17 and u r around my height and weight. And another question, where does skyrush rank on ur overall ranking of ur coasters youve done
27. Skyrush is in my top 5.
What do you think about the restraints and the panini pressures on Skyrush at Hersheypark, Coast Rider at Knott's Berry Farm, and Thunderbolt at Luna Park?
Coast Rider's are the most uncomfortable with the shin guards. The ones on Skyrush and Thunderbolt are tight on your thighs, but I can cope with them.
their achally is something in the profiling that gives you the second pop of airtime the drop has a little dip in it mid way down the drop
I've never been able to see that.
@@CanobieCoaster idk why but i can you can see it when the train gos down the drop kinda
Intensity is its strength.
Rode this 9 times on Thursday. Such an insane ride
Nice!
Canobie Coaster would say:
While coaster enthusiasts said it as a positive, parkgoers said it as...
negative.
My theory behind the second pop of airtime: the cable moves you fast enough that the crest is like an airtime hill, as soon as the forces from that let up you experience another strong pop of airtime from the drop.
Possibly!
I agree B&M has better trains, but I love this ride's power.
Some people dont appreciate the fact that them restraints are part of the reason why skyrush feels like its trying to kill you and that feeling is exactly what makes us wanna ride to begin with
I could appreciate that airtime with pretty much any Intamin train, but the exposed feeling really makes the laterals crazy for me.
i love the restraints on skyrush it makes the ride feel scarier bc the restraints feel so open
@@mattvx1896 They never bothered me I love the freedom of movement they allow and can’t wait to ride it 100 more times this coming season
Coast Rider's shin guards hurt me. I don't mind the tight lap bar on the other two.
Is it completely dead when it meanders back to the station?
Also, how abundant are the positive forces?
Everything after the last bunny hill is dull. The low turns have very strong Gs.
Great review!
Thanks!
Are these restraints similar to velocicoaster? And what’s the similarity/difference?
It's an overhead lap bar, but the Skyrush ones are far tighter and have a thinner point of contact (hence the possible pain).
Excellent review. Ride takes my breath away.
Thanks! Me too!
Would you say the restraints on superman at SFNE are worse or better than this?
I prefer the restraints on Superman. They're roomier and don't cause any discomfort for me.
That's a hot take finding Velocicoaster's restraints painful. I love them.
Both are insane.
see that the Skyrush has a cable lift instead of a chain lift
Yes
@@CanobieCoaster "yes"? is that all you are going to say?! eh it's fine.
This reminds me so much of el toro: amazing ejector Airtime Bad restraints the middle sections of both being kinda underwhelming both are pretty rough and they also have some of the best names on any coaster (I just love the name skyrush and el Toro just sounds awesome)
I find the middle of this ride fine since the turns either have high Gs or crazy lats.
Just rode this for the first time this week. Other than Phantoms revenge, I’d say it’s the best coaster in my great state of PA.
It's an amazing ride.
That airtime
It's amazing!
How do you make the airtime not painful? Is there a special way to sit or hold the restraunts
I've heard some people say to sit all the way back, but I don't think there's a real trick with Skyrush.
Any tips for the restraints?
I've heard some people say to slide all the way back. Others say to slide forward. I don't think there's any universal secret. I think it's luck of the draw if the restraints bother you.
I went on Skyrush the first day I ever rode a rollercoaster. It was my first time visiting HP outside of the water park and I planned to stay off the coasters because I was scared until I realized that's almost all there was
Skyrush was one of the last ones I rode on and it was *amazing!* I think I rode it twice. Hope I get to ride it again someday
Nice!
Do you mind the thigh-crushing?
The restraints don't give me much trouble.
Intimidator 305 is the most intense coaster I’ve ever ridden. Haven’t made it on skyrush, but I will one day!
Both are crazy
The lift hill structure from the park road looks terrifyingly tall.
Sure does!
The new restraints at night put this at my no. 1 past el toro and i305 and WCR. This could very well be the best coaster in the world, and the back left wing is the seat that tries to send you to heaven. The night rides I got single handedly shot it up 6 spots for number one
I heard it's more comfortable, but the laterals may have been lessened a bit.
I don’t understand why people call this thigh crush I understand if you sit farther from the lap bar it hurts but if you sit closer it doesn’t
I was excited the path reopened in 2021.
this or flying aces?
Easily Skyrush. The airtime is far more intense.
Canobie Coaster would say:
This hyper coaster was intended to be the park's marquee attraction for years to come. While most roller coaster enthusiasts praised the ride's relentlessness from day one, many parkgoers found the coaster to be...
Too painful.
The second time I rode it front row I came up so far off my seat on the first drop that it actually freaked me out and my eyes started tearing up I don’t know why and I’m happy you mentioned it because I thought I was the only one
That drop is terrifying!
"this hyper coaster was intended to be the park's marquee attraction for years to come". "Marquee", what does that mean? And "intended"?
Marquee is headliner or signature. Intended is planned.
1:43 YEET!!!
It's forceful.
It's baffling, but I love it!
Perfect review yo!
Thanks!
Here are some of your descriptions: “feels like it’s trying to kill you; does some violent things to your body; gray-out inducing turns and vicious laterals; treats your body like a rag doll; trying to rip your upper body from your legs; a glorious and enjoyable car accident; borderline violent ejector air time; swatted like a fly; viciously thrown; earned the name thigh crush.”
In some circles, this enjoyment is called masochism.
Not everyone is fan of the intensity. Canobie Coaster, do you like, love, or not like the intensity unlike any other?
I love this ride's intensity.
This thing is literally an airtime machine, damn!
Sure is.
The best part of this ride is that the back 2 or 3 rows of wing seats are walkons. GP doesnt like the back rows.
Yeah most people stay towards the front of the station.
I did not know what intense meant until I rode this. And it’s pure bliss.
It's insane.
(One appeared in your comment section after I wrote the above, predictably.)
As for a “trick,” the best hope is to try to scoot forward so that the restraints come down as close as possible to the hips and not across the middle of the thighs.
Canobie Coaster How tall do you have to be for it to not be painful
