    The reason that the seats were roped off was due to a back order on parts from Europe. Obviously the seats occasionally have problems but when it stacks up and they aren't able to fix it it really starts to look bad. I'm a heavy man and I found skyrush's lap bars to be some of the most comfortable ride restraints ever. I do not fit on farenhiet or storm runner, but I easily fit on skyrush. Must be my build cause it's super comfy. I do not experience the lap bar coming down like everyone says, I'm able to have it start with room and keep that room throughout the ride without much hastle. Just rode it for the first time today, got two back left rides in, and it was the most pleasant surprise of the trip. Rides an easy 10

    My absolute favorite coaster out of over 100 that I've ridden. It's like Millennium Force and Maverick had a very evil but fun child. While the restraints do get exceptionally tight, I am glad that they do release, automatically, about an inch while you wait on the brakes outside of the station.

    Skyrush is easily in my top 5 favorite coasters ever (100+). No doubt the best at Hershey park, although stormrunner should not be slept on. Skyrush in the back row (especially the left wing seat) is WILD!!! I thought Intimidator 305 at KD was as good as it gets, and while it is faster and taller, I swear the ejector air time you get on the back of skyrush is 2nd to none! First drop is crazy, especially from back seats (you literally feel like you're going to fly out) it's so scary but so awesome at the same time. In terms of restraints, I actually love the restraints. Not too tight at all, and leave you plenty of room for the ejector air. I personally hate over the shoulder restraints (like the great bear) that restrict your chest from fully breathing. Skyrush is a true 10/10.

    I worked at Hershey the season that they had the seat issue. It got fixed within a few weeks so you just got unlucky with the timing. Let me tell you seating people was a mission when you worked midline. We were literally given a clipboard with seats on both of the trains that were out of order so queuing people was annoying to say the least.
    And you're right about the restraints, almost everyone said that the restrains were awful.

    No other coaster serves airtime the way Skyrush does. The restraints, I believe, are the best possible option and I love the overall train design. Tight on the thighs? Sure. But at least they hit you in an appropriate place, and remain snug, without repeatedly banging your femur into a stationary bar. Of a similar design, the Impluse lapbars feel like they're trying to cut you in half at the pelvic bone. Skyrush restraints were born from necessity, and the freedom the seating provides is unparalleled.

      I’m a very short and skinny person, and I sat on the right outside wing on skyrush and I knew what people said about the restraints, in the beginning of the day I got on it and I thought it wasn’t that bad but it did still hurt, I sat in the right outside wing again later that night for a last ride, and I thought ok this hurts a lot more, but when we were going down the first hill it clicked like three more times and I was literally screaming in pain t hurt so much, it’s been three days and my thighs are still in pain, my other family members said that it didn’t hurt them but I think it’s the outside wing seats, it hurt so bad I’m not exaggerating i couldn’t enjoy the ride and I had tears coming out

    I love the restraints! Honestly. I know I'm in the super minority, but if you are tall and skinny like me, these are a welcome relief from the usual spine-crush you get on any other ride. Seriously. Every other ride at Hershey Park has a warning at the beginning of the line for tall riders. I didn't notice this until after the first ride of the day on Fahrenheit totally wrenched my back. The feeling of freedom and openness also is unmatched by the lap restraint. Long live Skyrush. Best ride ever. And my home park is Magic Mountain, which I adore.

  • @loganarnoldkicks4321

    I completely agree!! My friend rode SkyRush way before me and didn't like it because his thighs got crushed, but when we rode it together a few years after, we got a really amazing standing-ejector filled ride. I was terrified that I was gonna fly out of the train, that's how good the airtime was 😂😂 I don't remember having my thighs crushed too badly, but I agree that it would be a nearly perfect ride with better restraints.

  • @skyrushingpromotions
    @skyrushingpromotions ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Here's a tip for anyone struggling with the so called "thigh crush". Scoot forward so that you're in the most comfortable position possible, lift your legs just a little bit so that you can get leg room once you pull it down. Keep that position until the ride op is done checking your restraint. It will make more sense when you actually do it. I've marathoned Skyrush 41 times in one day and never bothered me once with that technique!

    Road this about a month before this video was published. I give it a 6 or 7. I hated the restraints so much. I felt like it was pretty rough too. I'm a fairly tiny person too, and most of the time my back was pinned to only half of my seat, so I had part of the seat pushing straight into my back. Along with all the whiplash I received. Woke up the next day with neck pains. I was seated in the very back so it could've contributed to the roughness. I haven't rode it in the front yet. Looking forward to visiting this park (my home park) again 2017 and riding this in the front!

Try sitting in row 2 and so on. Front seats are for those who have been on this ride plenty of times and won't be as close to pissing themselves as first time riders. Lol. They should really get the new Intamin lapbars on this, as they are used on Taron. They wouldn't even need to modify the restraint mechanism itself, but only switch out the part that attaches to your lap with a more ergonomic one.

    The other day, I acted super carefree with my arms up in the back side. Terrible idea...I felt sore for hours. Then I gave the front seat a try, and Skyrush TOTALLY REDEEMED ITSELF. The speed made my eyes tear up and the airtime was still nuts. If you know how to ride this, the experience will be unforgettable

    @andrewwarthen5209 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wasn't bad for me the first couple times but the thigh pain gets worse the more you ride it. I think the biggest problem is that the bottom of the restraint is flat while on a coaster like lightning racer, the lapbars are arched at the bottom.

    @davidsmallwood2753 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Taylor, really like your reviews. Isn't Skyrush a blitz coaster like Maverick at CP. By the way, you mentioned the name of another coaster (actually several comparing the speed of the lift hill) but in this review I'm talking about the word you used "Wicked" which is at Lagoon in Utah.

    I don’t really have a problem with the restraints because my restraint goes all the way down and I still have space so the airtime is great

    Unfortunately, the restraint issue completely ruined the ride experience for me. I found it very difficult to focus on the ride itself, because my thighs were in so much pain throughout the ride, especially on the airtime hills! I think it is absolutely ridiculous, that restraints are what prevents a ride like this from succeeding. As I see it, Intamin blew a huge potential with this coaster.
    But otherwise, the roller coaster line-up at Hersheypark is fantastic!

    I made a rollercoaster tour through the east coast, and this coaster was definitly the most intense one. Even more intense than Maverick, Furry 325 or Intimidator 305. And that was also because of the restraints. I said that the wingseats are pure terror and with my big thighs I was always afraid to be pulled out of the coaster. I could never ride it with arms up, it was that hard. No problem on any other rollercoasters but this one.
    So yes, but definitly one of the best, a little bit too intense for me. But still so good, I just wanted to experience it again and again.
    EDIT: I also rode Lightning Rod, which is just as intense as this one. Skyrush is smoother and more fun though.

    When I was there there were players from the Baltimore Ravens I think rookies from training camp idrk I don’t watch football, 1 of them couldn’t get the thigh crushers to lock cause he was so big. It was pretty funny

    You're pretty generous. It would be a great ride if it had decent retraints, but the thigh crushing really takes me out of it to the point that I can't enjoy it. 9/10 with great restraints, 3/10 in its current state.

    I did some research and it turns out that the seats that were roped off were exclusives for Fast Track riders. Aka riders who get fast passes. It's a sloppy system and you should send a letter about it.

    They aren't. When I went to Hersheypark on June 27, no seats were roped off. And even funnier, I only waited 1-2 trains per ride on Skyrush and I got all 3 times (front, middle, back) on the right hand winged seat.

    I don't think even Intamin realized the beast they built. Maybe it needs restraints designed just for skyrush. Maybe Something like in a fighter pilot cockpit. It's pretty intense. When I was in the que I noticed a lot of people exiting the ride and making their way to the nearest bench. Saw two little kids crying
