I have been spoiled by Nate. I cannot even watch other cow hoof trimmers anymore. He's a master with that knife. So gentle, yet so precise. There's hardly ever blood. When there is you know it wasn't because he was careless. The others hack away making it hard to watch. Nate gets down to the point and executes beautifully.

I said the EXACT SAME THING when I first stumbled across these hoof videos. There was some other guy - I forget his name now - But he was just BUTCHERING these poor cows... blood EVERYWHERE!! I had to unsubscribe and click (Don't send me this channel anymore). Nate is the only one I'll watch anymore. Also, did you realize this guy is apparently is only charging like $13 per cow (or hoof)? - Not sure - But he said one time that he had like 60 or 70 to do that day!! WTF?!?!?! .. Whew!
Those little details slip right by us?!?! His hands must be able to CRUSH ROCKS by now!!

AMEN :raising_hands: !!! It's actually really weird how enjoyable it is to watch someone be good at something. Doesn't even have to be something "useful" or entertaining. I get a great deal of joy watching someone paint a wall white, it's just someone rolling paint on a wall but it brings me a deep satisfaction to see them paint a wall in the most efficient way possible. I actually thought I was the only one who enjoyed that kind of thing, good to know there's at least one other person in the world who likes watching people do stuff there good at for the sake of seeing them be good at it.

Nate is the best of the best…competence and gentleness while working.
You truly are heads above the other trimmers online who are hacks by comparison!
    Keep up the great videos!
I’m a Nebraska girl and my grandfather was a cattle trader (not dairy cows) in Omaha when the stockyards were at their peak. I remember walking the catwalk and moving cattle with him when I was a kid…when I’d say ewwwh about the smell, he used to say, “That’s the smell of money and pays for your bread and butter baby!” 😊
He always cared for his cattle and keeping them healthy, and I loved moving and tending cattle with him. I think he would have loved your channel and the awesome work you do to keep cows healthy! He’s long gone now, but your channel connects me to wonderful memories of a simpler time.

Unlike some, though, I do live in farm country, in southeastern Washington state, and see cows on a regular basis. It's encouraging to know that the cattle I see are unlikely to have serious foot problems as they are out to pasture almost exclusively.

The secret on all blade sharpening's in the burr. Small amounts of metal are drawn towards the edge, and the neck between the blade and the burr's only a few atoms thick. By breaking the burr, running backwards very lightly, you get an edge that's as thin - and therefore sharp - as possible.
