Yamaha - High horsepower crossplane inline 4 Suzuki - Higher torque crossplane inline 4 Honda - 180° Big bang V4 Ducati - 90° twin fire V4 (Sounds like a lawnmower on steroids) Aprilia - 180° Big bang V4 KTM - 90° Big bang V4
No menacing inline 4 sound in gp anymore... Shame, would be nice if suzuki was stil using the screamer layout just for the complete mix of engine sounds..
+Console the Honda have a V-Engine as well, but they changed the firing order from a Screamer to a Big Bang! A Big Bang fires more or less all the cylinders at once, the screamer instead has a firing order like 2-4-3-1 (for example)! It is exactly how MotoGP explained! The only difference is, that KTM went to a Screamer order of firing!!! Big Bang, like Yamaha, with the M1 does, gives it an easier handling trough slow corners, the acceleration isn't as aggressive as it was with the screamer! It's more docile now for the Honda!
Honestly this is what I love about MotoGP, and motorbike racing in general. They allow manufacturers to bring in machines that are signature to them. The variety of bikes are staggering, and they each require different riding styles to fully realize their potential.
I just love how RAW the Ducati Sounds, where you can actually here the individual cycles. It's got the most distinct sound and engine layout and of course, power. All that said, MV25 FTW!
This is a pretty awesome illustration of the different configurations and their corresponding auditory differences. You can hear the different firing orders between similar configurations and different manufacturers, as well as the unique Ducati desmodromic valve sound.

Wow. Thanks 4 making this video. I never knew they have different layouts. I thought they all have the same type of engine, that the rules oblige them to.
Honestly speaking I went to Malaysia MotoGP last year & unless they are riding alone in qualifying or practise it is really hard to notice the difference & they sure sounds better then curren 1.6 litre V6 F1 cars
I think that this is a video game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should be a one gooooooddd game, with amazing quality of sound.. different of actually sounds motors in game
What is the reason for the difference in sound even though the engine is the same(in case of v4, all the bikes sound a little different than each other)?

suzuki is also using crossplane engineered by yamaha to increase grip
Great video to give fans more insight. Ducati is the odd man out here. And their engine has the most power.
Mayur Jadhav
and thats also why they have won the most moto gp trophies 😅

Seems that this season is too docile....
lol. Ducati won motogp or wsbk when? bahahaha
Oso 11 a few years ago, but still over half of all wsbk championships went to bologna.

I love Honda sound....
Beast sound from Honda!!
Sound from Honda like Kubota or Yanma engine 😂
V4 !!
Crypto frezo The old Honda yes, but Ducati sounds best
Ducati sounds beast
the yamaha sounds bad because of the exhaust they use. listen to an R1 with an aftermarket exhaust. that sounds great.
I currently ride a Ducati and love their sound, but I got to say that Honda sounds absolutely beastly.
No matter which bike, they still all sound way better then F1's V6 engines, hahaha.

Repsol sounds amazing
MotoGP is life!!!
All comments said the HONDA sound like a beast and that beast is a LION..
Kind of cool, Ducati's "L4" is situated more like my 03 SV1000S V twin than a Ducati V twin.
This is the coolest video on youtube.

no, that's why it's called an 'L4'..a typical road going Ducati is an L2.
Honda used a v5 in their rc211
Yes, it is not the exact model but it isnt an L4. The engine showed here has 5 cylinders.
