Mariam, you are making sense. The person who loves you will not post it when you are in pain.
As a registered nurse for over 25 years in the USA, even in this " modern age," If that nurse had been here, she would have been written up to the point of possibly losing her job. At best, the suspension is on the table. In most hospitals here, you are not allowed to take a picture with a patient, much less post on social media. I personally witnessed staff being let go becuase they took photos on the hospital grounds, in the patient care area (no patient present). In nursing school, healthcare etiquette is taught by our instructors. The instructors watch them (nursing students) as they care for patients. So that the nurse student would not even try that here, the penalty would be too stiff. The Nigerian Board of Nursing should consider adopting the same penalty.
You are not even allowed to use ur phone while on the clock..not to talk of taking photos of a patient..and posting it on SM..you are fired ,no questions asked.
Nyma has said it all, no compassionate professional Nurse will behave in this manner.
It is a heart wrenching sight to behold, except they are acting a movie or something. It is against the ethical code of conduct for Nurses to use their phones in clinical areas, let alone make videos. Something has definitely gone wrong and needs to be rectified!
That can only happen in Nigeria! Where is HIPPA law? Nigeria is still behind in terms of different laws and compliances! She dare not do that in the US!
Absolutely true... She can't try it in US
Apart from the negligence on her part, what about the patients privacy? Nobody want to see themselves on social media all over the world just because they visited hospital. I hope the patient sue the hospital.
In the UK 🇬🇧 she will be charged to court and sacked she will lose her license and she will never practice ever again
Exactly she would have been referred to NMC and the family will sue her
Ethics of nursing forbids that and she is likely to loose her license or even prosecuted for breach of confidentiality!
Who told you she has licence. You shoukd know she is an auxiliary, by there ways you shall know them.
Nyma has said it all, apart from the insensitivity and cruelty displayed, it is actually a criminal offence to do what this nurse did. Disciplinary action IS required.
This can only happen in Nigeria. Alot of healthcare workers have been struck off the register and their licence to practice taken off, never to practice ever again except a miracle happens. At work, you are not even allowed to use a phone, u can't take a photo at work, except if the management approved it, maybe for work purposes. My colleague was suspended for over a year because he was watching a movie at work. As healthcare professionals abroad, our social media are constantly monitored.
I saw a video of a nurse on Tiktok who was tiktoking on duty. Guess what! she was creating content with pre term babies at the neonatal ICU. Jesus!!!! imagine showing vulnerable babies with all the feeding tubes and the monitors on them instead of looking after them. As a nursing student here in Ontario, I got so irritated, I commented on the nurses' comment session and told her how unprofessional she was and I pray the families of those children see that very video. I went ahead to report her account. Please don't say I am being mean, I almost wanted to send her videos to blogs and report her to nursing council of Nigeria for disciplinary measures to be taken. Not only that, she has a lot of tiktok videos of her tiktoking on her nursing station. These gen Z nurses are something else....
This is terrible and this could only happen in a place Nigeria. In the first instance, it is unethical and unlawful to even use your phone at work, not to talk of taking selfie. Nigeria need to start doing things the way and put right laws in place to curb this can of unprofessional behaviour.
It's unethical, she needed the consent of the lady in labour. Morayo there is a code of conduct, youth exuberant is not an excuse. If someone in your establishment takes a picture of you at your vulnerable moment and posts it without your consent. Will you be happy?
In schools abroad you need permission to take pictures of other kids even in a social setting.
Who's this lady on denim, I so like your view on issues.
That's so unprofessional. She must be an auxiliary nurse.😊
What of trained nurses that are mean and insult their patients?
@@TY-bb5qb A professional nurse will not do that. Not all trained nurses are professionals though.
@@ismailrukayat9965 your last sentence has said it all
Mariam is right, when my friend did surgery, she displayed alot and it didn't even occur to me and her sister to take a video of her displays 😅,it was after the whole thing we were talking about it ,it was the last thing we thought about at that time
Its not every one in uniform that is a nurse.I am a retired nurse, with over 40years of nursing.I belief its insensitive.A lot of things have changed,we were taught not to allow any form of photography without authority from the highest authority in the hospital.
So,things are changed all over world.
I do not think it is a Gen Z thing, you will be surprised that even the matrons and others do worse, I think it is a Nigerian thing, I have been saying for a while now that we are badly behaved people, abd we do not know it. We are badly behaved we need to do something about it
Sir/ Ma,we know it. A sick nation. I thank God for saving me.
There's an American female surgeon tiktoker, Dr. Roxy, that was always in the habit of shooting videos during procedures. She allowed content creation to get to her head thinking getting a patient's consent to shoot was enough to protect her job. This is not just a Nigeria thing, it's a global issue.
Violations of patients rights..
Privacy, confidentiality and professional secrecy have been violated😢😮
@Morayo...Your view is actually my view.....
Morayo is saying something nice. It’s youthful exuberance. Now, this nurse has a story to tell because not everyone have that sense. Are we sure she is a nurse first of all or a relative to the pregnant woman. The fact that she is wearing green doesn’t mean that she is a nurse. Probably, that lady is going to the theatre and she’s the sister going with her.
Sometimes Morayo talks rubbish. The Nurse signed a contract and took oath of allegiance to her profession not to mention confidentiality laws. She has no right to publish that. Any rubbish is excused in Nigeria .
It’s in Nigeria, all these things are happening. How I wish they would deal with some people very well. Rid them of everything and let them be useless because social media is doing a lot of harm
I didn't want to write anything. But Morayo, there's something call work ethics. Which they tell you what to do,and what not to do.
No empathy, no compassion, unprofessional in her behaviour, what about personal space, her privacy, very disturbing video.
Morayo...loving your cape and ankara
Me too. It's beautiful.
Social media don spoil naija people finish no more moral again
What happened to patient’s confidentiality? She needs to be suspended and license revoked. Where was she trained?
You don't have a right to post or tag people without their consent. It's totally wrong
Morayo, please stop defending stupidity. That lady is so unprofessional, and what she did is unethical. Trust me, if it was to be in the state, aside from losing her license, if he tried it with some crazy families, she might end up in jail, so please let's stop encouraging this unmannered act.
In most medical settings this days. Everyone wears such uniform (scrub) ranging from a health assistant, auxiliary nurses, lab scientist, registered nurses, doctors even cleaners.
The lady is not likely to be a qualified nurse.
Which hospital is this?
If she was well trianed, I believe she would exhibited a lot more professionalism.
In the UK 🇬🇧 everyone there will be purnished for not saying anything is called, DUTY OF CONDOUR in the health sector she would have been sacked by now even tbe manager will be in problem you cant put privacy out there like that
It's very obvious Morayo likes to trend no matter what, how, when, where....
This isn't about trending. She is the moderator and she needs to look at all angles. That's what she always does, except you're new to the program.
She always says that as the moderator she needs to look at issues from the other party's point of view as well.

That could only happen where it happened. In the west she would've been fired, sued and be taught a lesson of her life.
Ppl are saying they were acting film o.
She wont dare to try this in europe she will lose everything thats discipline
Nursing and midwifery council will certainly take action against this nurse Eliza
That lady is not a professional nurse sue must be a quack or auxillary so to speak because in Nigeria so many people practice what they like
In Nigeria you have people masquerading as nurses but have NO nurse training, instead they are trained by the doctors and start as cleaners. This type of nurses are the worst kind cos they can't be held accountable. Any real nurse knows that privacy is key. This is how Mohbad died, those nurses need checking....trust me, she doesn't have a nursing license. This is really sad for me to admit as a nurse in Ghana, Nigeria and UK.
But the patient seems to have been aware. I feel there’s more to the story.
You know this because? Of course she knew someone was recording her but did she ask her to or make content with her in that vulnerable situation?
@@giftedchild9490 if you’re going to respond to me, do it with sense. Bye Felicia!
The actions of the nurse was so unprofessional and she should be sanctioned. All those excuses Morayo were giving are facts not in evidence. The line needs to be drawn somewhere
Someone would be doing event and cell phones would block professional cameras you paid for. Let me see anyone doing that at my events.
Morayo l use to have huge respect for you. Im dissppointed in your opening statement regarding this incident. Its appaling if this is viwed abroad. She shouldnt lose her job? She is young ? And we all cry for a better nigeria Mheww
The truth is that as a nurse, you might not have that time to make videos with the stress of the work, she might be anything
Please what is Morayo saying today? Would you have wanted a nurse to do that to you? I don't think she was ready for today's programme.
She’s saying rubbish
Did she get consent from the patient to do the video. If not then she could be sued .
This generation of Gen z need to start learning basic life saving skills such as basic CPR not selfie taking ...May you not have an emergency in the street of Nigeria... 25:32
I don't even understand what is funny in someone being in labour. Someone is in pains and you are recording and smiling ... I don't get it
Morayo likes playing the 'devil's advocate ' and it can be irritating!
However, it is necessary for balanced debate and discussion.
She is only doing her job. She has to put out an opinion different from others.
She’s smart, and a good host I must say, a show is not about everyone having the same opinion, other possibilities need to be looked into too, so I must applaud her.
She really did bab N it's very unethical and unlawful
Morayo, I believe u are saying this to keep d argument going. Its grossly unprofessional and unethical to take photographs or make videos of patients. In saner climes, d nurse would lose her license
As far as I'm concerned she is a naive, not ethical and definitely with no experience kind of Nurse.... That is actually if she is a Nurse...
Unethical behaviour
Aunty morayo, so even if she can not do anything about the woman's pain, the only thing she can do is to take a selfie of her and be smiling? Pls morayo, don't trivialise this issue. I know you over rationalise things all the time, but this is not one of your case studies abeg.
She was unprofessional
She is not a nurse
This Morayo doesn't get anything at all. What's youthful exuberance in this disgusting behavior? We have youth nurses in America and none of them dear do such or even talk anyhow to patients, you're gone and may even lose your license if caught. The truth be told we don't have moral and any iota of human feelings or value in Nigeria. Nurses talk anyhow to patients, recording them without consent and even posting it. So, please, Morayo should stop this disgusting statement.
She’s a host and shouldn’t be in the same side as them, if all of them agreed on the same thing how do u get knowledge, in every discussion there must be different opinions and she’s bringing different perspectives to talk about, that is wat her Job is about. Pls understand it. She’s good I must say.
Hello Mariam, ur hair makes u looks like a peacock. Beautiful 😂
Morayo you lack wisdom. I don’t have anything else to say . I hope you are taking the position for argument sake . But if you are serious you lack wisdom . You could be the most intelligent person but sorry wisdom is lacking
No she doesn't lack wisdom she is doing it to stir up the conversation
Do u understand wat keeping up a discussion is about at all, she’s the host here and mustn’t agree with them on matters so as to bring more points to be shared otherwise how do u learn and enjoy the show. She’s doing well at it I must say. She’s not supposed to be with them doesn’t mean she doesn’t agree with them.
@@user-jp8jq3up7e fine if you think so . I hope that is the case but Some of those positions is just straight out of USA liberal book . Everything can be justified and not wrong . I feel sorry for where it will lead Nigeria . Adults and children where no one can talk to, advice or correct . As a country we copy I know but you cannot just be swallowing everything from another culture and espousing it on TV.
@@sojijohnson8811 maybe I have experiences in tv presentations that’s y I said wat I said It’s ok if u viewed it differently but wat I know is that sometime the host throws questions from different angles so as to balance the topic of discussion. A host isn’t suppose to be in a particular side because he is asking the question and is suppose to allow the guess air their views
@@user-jp8jq3up7e I take your point but on this topic she took a position and says it will be fine if they filmed her while in labor , that is not a host stirring up a discussion. I am just worried about her becoming so liberal that there is no longer good or bad , or right or wrong no values everything just based on whatever the individual perceives to be good or bad .Anyway thanks for the retort. I hope I am wrong .
