  • Once the word "Hiigara" was nothing more than an ancient word scrawled on a single stone. In the modern galaxy, it is synonymous with Empire.

@@uncertainscientist This is the case, but a day of bombardment of these things still left untold devastation, and areas the Taiidan haven't restored, though by choice. That said, there are no innocents protected or in general in such actions. Whilst the Taiidan have guilt for their own actions in corruption of the council and provoking the Hiigarans - there's very much gray here, and I appreciate that part of the lore.
Both were militaristic empires in their prime, Hiigara just got a bit too arrogant from their newfound core, particularly being a dummy concerning the Bentusi, who have their own flaws, nontheless they have long since paid the price. Also we play them, so.. yeah :D.

They heavily bombarded the planet, but they didn't destroy it outright like the Taiidan did with Hiigaran worlds using atmosphere deprivation weapons. As per Homeworld: Revelations, the world of Taiidan survived and is now the bustling metropolitan capital of the Taiidan Republic (unlike Hiigara, which the returning Exiles were very careful to maintain ecological balance with urbanisation needs, resulting in garden cities). Some areas of significance were apparently deliberately left as ruins as a reminder of the Hiigaran bombardment of Taiidan.

Therefore the reveal of the Kithless and that many of such are actually former Taiidan does neatly explain such a thing. Millions of Taiidan that remained on Hiigara when the Kushan claimed it as their own Homeworld basically asorbred by the vastly smaller former Kushan population.

I personally don't think the humanoids of the Nimbus Galaxy evolved naturally. they were put there by the Progenitors before they disappeared.

And yes, it was confirmed none of the galaxies in the games are the Milky Way. Humanity spread out to multiple ones, and the Progenitors settled this one. The Mothership carried at most 600,000 people to Hiigara 300 years ago. Assuming a population growth rate of 2.5%, this means that the population of the Hiigaran Empire would be 989,260,954. As such, unless they accept a lot of immigration or have aggressive exowomb programs in place they have a total population slightly smaller than the combined populations of the EU, US, Japan, UK and Canada, or the total global population of 1800.

It was noted in this video that Taiidan that didn't have the means to leave the planet were accepted in to the nation. Just as various worlds that were once controlled by that Empire have since come under the Hiigaran.
So their actual population is vastly larger then that. Which as is also noted in this video leads to the situation that most citizens of the Empire are not of Kharak origin.
Well nothing to surprising in the end really, a starter population of 600k can only get you so far so quickly after all. Large compromises were unsurprisingly made to let them get their feet under them far more quickly.

As individuals we go to war, yet we return as family, Hiigarans, Kiith. The choice before the Daiamid is that between war and submission. Our foe possesses every material advantage that we possess and hundreds of years more experience wielding the power of their core. They have the support of the Galactic Council while we stand alone. You cannot consider your spirits yet tested if you accept only those battles where victory is certain. Many men would turn back now at the thought of the hardships before us should we challenged the Bentusi. We stand at the edge of our future with only one question to be answered. I mean there is so much talk about the possible internal political issues of the Higaaran Empire of Kiiths possessing their own individual militaries and the existence of kiithless non-Kharak factions.
Like the writers clearly wanted to make a more personal style story, so why not the personal stories of people of different Kiith or the other factions factions. Yet they only went with 3 people who basically have no flavor and are literally just protag, supporting character, and antagonist. Oh, and Karan… again.

one thing that has always bothered me about the homeworld series is the seeming lack of Alien species. everyone in the galaxy seems to be some variety of Human. think about it, how would the Hiigarans be able to integrate those Taiidan who couldn't leve Hiigara if they were aliens? wouldn't work

Oh, another thing. Since it's the "Homeworld week", you can possibly make a video of "Building your Battlegroup" about making an Hiigaran Navy battle group... It would be fun. Between those who are pro-strike crafts and those who are pro-capital ships... There would be plenty of likes and comments.
And I will personally enjoy it. That is the most important thing. 😤 ... 🤣🤣🤣 Joking. 👍

Honestly. I have the head canon that Sajuuk pretty much was rebuilt, somehow, into the Khar Sajuuk Mothership as it not only sports the awesome main gun, that is similar to the Sajuuk but has advanced point defense cannons that are basically lightweight ion cannon guns. Shrug. Don't if it was possible, and kind of blasphemous in a way really but I could totally see something like that happening.

It’s too bad that none of the Hiigaran empire (or really any other faction) shows up in the HW3 campaign. You’re basically just an isolated group, fighting for 3 squabbling individuals. You really don’t get the scale of what Homeworld has been with HW3.
