    It's so poetic that everybody is really supporting Roger and recognizing his greatness. Whether you're a Novak fanboy, a Nadal fanboy, a Federer fanboy or just a normal fan of tennis, everybody is coming together to let him have a great heartfelt goodbye. It's amazing. (Apologies for the usage of fanboy, it's not an offense)

      *You all are NUTS praising these two guys who have over $600 million dollars together*
      *People are dying due to lack of money to buy food...yet you praise these rich clowns*
      You can worship and like and praise who you want...
      I believe in freedom of speech...and the freedom to make as much money as you want just like them.
      See what happens in the end...
      Fools look up to the filthy rich....and that is not just my opinion.
      Any fool knows these guys don't need to hold onto that much money to live happy...while others are in major grief from being poor and dying.
      Many share my same beliefs...and maybe God does also.

    As a man I’ve only teared up 3x. 1. When Kobe retired. 2. I cried my eyes out when Kobe and Gigi passed away in the helicopter accident and 3. Watching Federer walk off into retirement at Laver Cup. Thank you Roger, you gave us all so many beautiful memories. No matter how many slams Rafa and Novak finish with, you will always be the GOAT for me. I don’t think anyone will ever make the game look so easy and so magical the way you did. Good bye RF 🙏🙌

    What makes me really sad is not actually the retirement itself but that his retirement symbolises a part of my life gone forever. I still remember when I was a kid learning to play tennis, when I accidentally hit a nice shot, I would think I am playing like Roger and be so happy about it. On the good days when I am playing well, I would childishly think I might even stand a chance against him on a center court. Always tried to buy his outfits and rackets and try to look as cool as he is. His behaviors also inspired me to be a nice person in general.
    I guess there wont be any stranger in my life as important as RF in the future. It is sad, really sad.

    Roger retired and my mom passed around the same time. Both things hit me hard. It's weird because they're both the most influential/important people in my life and I haven't even met Roger. The way he carries himself, is always humble no matter how much success he has, is always nice and has good sportsmanship. Just goes to show how an amazing human being and Tennis player he is. Both showed me kindness and how to keep on fighting. When Rog lost a match it felt like I lost and was going to have a bad day lol.
    Going to try my best to continue on their traits in my life and make a positive impact, but Tennis or life won't be the same without them. 🎾🙏

      Hey man. I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother a little over a year ago and every day I remember her for the person that she was. The days get easier but the pain stays with you but it’s reassuring as it reminds me of the love I have for her. Federer’s retirement was very tough for me as he was my icon and the reason I love tennis. On Friday, when Federer retired, it was the first time I cried since she passed away. Life is full of hellos and goodbyes but the sadness we feel should be more of a celebration for all the happiness they’ve given us over the years. I hope you’re ok and find solace during this difficult time. Things will get better

    Coming from a Novak fan, it is impossible to miss Roger's greatness. The way he presented himself on court, never rash. Always calm, collected, and by far the most elegant player to ever grace the court. I am truly gonna miss him, Nadal is also nearing the end, and Novak in a few years. The greatest era of tennis is coming to a close. Even though I am gonna miss it, I'm just truly happy I got to witness it, #RForever.

    • @ryaniam22

      I was a Federer fan first but grew to admire how good Djokovich has become. But your right, Rodger makes it look incredibly easy and graceful while Nadal and Djokovich are thumping the court out there and just sound loud. Roger sounds like a friggin graceful deer. I'm convinced if Rodger was coming into his own on tour at 23 while Nadal and Djokovich were 30 he would have been pushed to be even better in his prime. Just how it works. But I'm amazed how even at 38 he came within a point of Djokich in winning Wimbledon in 5 sets (2 years in a row). He is still wicked awesome and even at 41 with all his injuries, a top 3 in the world player on any given Sunday. I am depressed now for a while haha

    • @ekirakosyan
      @ekirakosyan ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So true. The absolute greatest era. None other come close to this big 3 which absolutely dominated the game over the last 2 decades and counting. I hope Novak will keep winning, and they don’t stop him from competing over stupid 💉

    • @ekirakosyan
      @ekirakosyan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ryaniam22 yup. If it weren’t for Nadal, Roger would have won an extra 3-4 French Opens.. and yes, he came so close so many times. He just as easily could have ended up with 25-26 slams.. but this is the game of tennis. Fierce competition. Federer + Nadal + Djokovic = the GOAT era. Period. I still loved Roger’s game over anyone else, but I cannot put anyone one over the other in terms of competitiveness, drive, hard work, and absolute domination!

    Tennis will never be the same... Roger gone. Rafa almost winding down. Deep inside I thought this day would never come. But Thank you Roger, Rafa and Nole to have given us so many epic battles. I was fortunate enough to watch them on TV. Will always cherish those memories. God bless you Roger!!!

    My God, where do the years go? I'm only now shaking off the tears from when Andre retired. I managed to fall upon another amazing player named Roger Federer who filled the void when Andre stepped down. Suddenly I find myself feeling a great sense of loss seeing another hero handing off his racket to father time. I truly hope you have an amazing life, Roger. You don't know all of us fans, but we certainly know you, Sir. May life be as good to you as you've been to it.

    Roger was an absolute brilliance, he dominated and I’m glad that everybody recognizes that. He changed tennis and honestly he recreated tennis, gave us something to look at. He will be missed, I cried for like a week when I heard his retirement letter. People who have shared the court with him, win or lose, have been some of the luckiest people ever.

    Su retiro me duele tanto como el de Michael Jordan o Michael Phelps, en su caso su humildad lo hace aún más grande!! Él logró que el tenis tuviera muchooos más admiradores, uno de ellos, yo. Siento que me he quedado huérfana, porque su forma de juego era como arte en un lienzo... le lloré y sigo melancólica.

    Its very fitting that Sampras said the last goodbye :-). Its like Sampras introduced Roger to us and now he is closing the curtain for Roger. Also its so nice to hear from Andy, Novak and Rafa.

    Favourite players I’ve watched last 20 years: Federer, Wawrinka, gasquet, monfils, Kohlschreiber, thiem.
    Yes great single handed backhands are everything. Monfils is a unique exception to the rule

      Great choices. My favorite players to watch of all time are Federer, Sampras, Nadal, and Borg. Shame to see Federer join 3 of the 4 in retirement but I suppose it was finally time.
