The guy was probably like "wait, no, I want to finish watching the show. I'll patch things up with her later " 😂 he looked like he didnt want to leave.
Yep he totally didn't want to leave. I wouldn't have either! And I wish the husband wouldn't have interfered because I wanted to see how much more she could milk that situation :-D
Hell, I'd have continued watching the show and let the girl get over her freak out. Married men tend to have more patience for their partners BS, but that doesn't mean they're obligated to fix other relationships. Not every one deserves to be saved.
The guy getting dumped was apparently quite drunk, and was starting to be disruptive. Her husband was being protective, without being overly so, by stepping in when he did. He said the exact right thing to be able to escort that guy out without needing to get security involved or anything. Good on her, and her husband, for handling the situation with comedy and grace.
How did you get this, SHE was the one that initiated the conversation. Andit was all RECORDED. are you stupid or just slow? Y do people add thing that never happened

What's crazy that without context it's the girlfriend who looks like the ass. Out of curiosity I googled this show and apparently on the comedian's insta there were comments from ppl who were at the show. The dude was drunk and being an a-hole by interrupting the show with shouting and such. The girlfriend had enough of his behaviour and stormed out embarrassed. That's why security was there so fast because they already had their eyes on him and were worried. And the comedian's husband was doing the nice guy escorting the drunk out thing.
This is one reason I don't drink or use mind altering drugs. I mean we should hold people accountable on what they do when they are drunk. That said, they are drunk. How are they supposed to know any better when they are already drunk.

Atsuko is so sweet! She was genuinely worried (and I think a bit shell shocked) with whatever was happening. I do wonder what happened after though 😅 glad her husband stepped in to the rescue
It's still used as 'a place', but the timing, and delivery in context made it funny to me; that, of course, breakups during a show isn't strictly a 'Bay area' thing Her crowd work to lighten the mood for her audience, over what could possibly be the worst (or best 🤣) day for the couple breaking up at her show
I don’t know her but I really appreciate that she kept it positive she could’ve easily made harsh jokes on them, a lot of comedians will because it’ll be funny but she didn’t and I respect that
Omg I was at that show. Don't know for sure if it's related, but there were cop cars in front. I wondered if maybe she had a freakout in the lobby, but I left by another exit.

And then your husband came and said the right words to help the couple and keep the show going. A lesson in how to manage crowd disruption while elevating the performance, very impressive.
Oh my gosh, I am half Japanese. How have I never heard of this amazing, talented, and hilarious woman before?!? I love how clever she was and how she was able to just come up with banter on the spot! I just subscribed. Totally amazing!
What a crazy difficult situation. But it revealed what wonderful people Atsuko and her husband both are. Atsuko found a way to continue to do her job and deliver some top tier comedy on the fly, while also showing kindness and support to check in and care for the guy. Meanwhile, her husband was checking in on the girl and then gently encouraging the guy to follow her and try to fix things.
I love that this situation not only fueled more comedy material, but she made the guy laugh during it, and I’m sure he felt pretty special having to speak to her and tell him how much she likes her show
This was awesome, great presence of mind, not only to help the couple (who maybe drank a little too much) but also to make sure your wife and the show are safe to go on, by escorting a potentially problematic gentleman away from the front. Great job and kudos all around
The way Ryan and Atsuko handled this makes sense cuz they both had difficult childhoods taking care of their moms who had schizophrenia, so in a sad but beautiful way, they are the best equipped to handle these weird situations
“She left both of us.” Then hubby comes to the rescue. I love it!
that was just so perfect like a show
