Hi Aliex, I'm a bit confused... this looks really awesome the way you have it just using the default steering mechanism. But aren't those rudders plastic? I have the Sportsman 120 PDL (not a Salty), and I'm pretty sure the rudder is plastic and wouldn't be strong enough to mount the Bixpy on. Did you replace the rudder with a metal one? Or is one of the adapters on their site a replacement rudder? I'm confused which part you actually ordered (Motor and Battery Only? Universal Rudder Adaptor? Or the Universal Kayak Adaptor?)
@@maethlin you just get the Bixpy with no adapter, you cut the plastic rudder to size to fit the Bixpy. That plastic is strong and it will hold it is actually stronger than Bixpy owns rudder adapter, if you order pls use my affiliate link thanks
There’s a company in Texas that makes a plate to cover the pedal drive hole. I think it’s about $80. You can also make one out of a plastic cutting board.
Do you have a video of you cutting the rudder on this kayak and how to do it? As this is the existing rudder right and you modified it to allow the bixspy?
Can you go in reverse with that rudder mount.....I'm thinking of putting that on my rudder just like that. Motor kayaks are too heavy for me so this is perfect.
Aliex! That is an amazing diy . Loved it. This diy is legit. Drag coefficient and displacement won’t let you go but so fast. Just saying. You might not be as out of shape as you think! Great job!
@@AliexFolgueira Thanks. I hope you did also. I sent you message on Thursday through Instagram. Maybe you didn’t get it. It’s awesome to see you posting.
I’ve been watching your reviews on the NK180pro and 300. Really torn between the two. I’ve got an Old town 120 PDL, pretty sure the 180 would work great but I like the power of 300. Hard to decide.
Hello Aliex, I wonder how many kayaks do you personally own. Is the Salty PDL still one of your favorites one? I am about to make up my mind to buy one and the Salty is in the mix. Your opinion really matters to me. Thanks
I just got done installing my bixpy my rudder my rudder handle is hard to lower and raise figured it might be but I feel like something is going brake any tips
@AliexFolgueira ok thanks I did order a rudder from bixpy but has not come yet and you know you just want to get out on the water so I just put it on the one it came with it is the pdl 110
bixpy on the rudder like this, or nk180pro newportvessels.rfrl.co/o4gdq replacing the rudder and adding a mount to take the motor , bixpy is easier and does the job. pls use mine affiliate links if you buy a motor, thanks
@brianreed7916 no, you would have level the stern, drill some holes, replace the handle, or maybe you can do something like this th-cam.com/video/4yVmWa9BE6g/w-d-xo.html

My predator mk will easily do 5 mph just with the stock mk motor it came with. Love my predator! They should have never stopped making it
Fast boat the predator is
How heavy is it on yr rudder handle do tou feel it can handle it when lowering and raising it up with out breaking anything

I have the same question.... is it the stock rudder?
get a separate plastic plate make 5 holes use 4 rivets then attach it with one bolt for quick disconnect
yup easy :)

Yeah I think the boat limit is 6mph like it won’t go faster but having bixpy helps a lot ! Hey I hope you had a nice thanksgiving

How is it holding up, seems like you would need to stiffen up the rudder for best performance.
yeah the rudder will have no issues holding bixpy, if it breaks you can always replace, bixpy has a nice rudder now they sell

Novice here . What if you got rid of the pedal all together?
Then this may be a better setup and cheaper th-cam.com/video/ipgD2_qxLCU/w-d-xo.html

Hopefully they will ship to Sweden some day, its on my wish list.
Great way to jet yourself to the fishing grounds with out all that manual propulsion!!
I just got done installing my bixpy my rudder my rudder handle is hard to lower and raise figured it might be but I feel like something is going brake any tips
If it is the salty it may be too much weight to lower and lift, I just lower it before the trip and go, bixpy has a new rudder, haven't test it
@AliexFolgueira ok thanks I did order a rudder from bixpy but has not come yet and you know you just want to get out on the water so I just put it on the one it came with it is the pdl 110
Do you need an adapter kit from them or did the motor come with bracket you screw into the rudder? Thank you
Don’t really need the adapter it is already attached to the Bixpy
Thats a perfect set up.
Boom 💥
How much weight was the motor pushing?
That is awesome! Great job. And let the haters hate. LOL.
Do you need two batteries to fish all day with the bixby?
No really, 1/2 speeds can have Bixpy on for 7 hours Min
Would you recommend the Bixby on a salty or would you do something else

Hey hey window clean is parked in a drawer he is broken he can’t come out and play we got a fish dude is it now👊🏻
what happened?
@@AliexFolgueira I retired from cleaning windows
Can the stock lever retract and deploy the rudder w the bixpy on it? I'm thinking of doin the same w my 106 pdl
Can’t retract it all the way but enough to clear structures
Do a video with it on the bigfish 108
I think it will be too slow, I would get something more powerful for the big fish 108
What kind of battery does it require?
Comes with a battery
Maximum Bixpy!
Wow amazing
Thanks a lot 😊
Enjoyed the video. This gives you a great option to rest and pedal. Hope you and the family had a great holiday !!!
Thanks Pablo, helps a lot specially since I’m out of shape lol
"biss bee"
Only I speak perfectly, you can’t copy me 😜
I wonder if I put this on the rudder of my Auto Pilot would I gain a few more mph? lol
I don’t think it would be worth it you need more power I should try it though
@@AliexFolgueira more power in what sense? The TM is maxed at 45lb thrust I think
This is why pedal kayaks are dead...... I paid 2400 for a pedal drive when I could of got the auto pilot for the same price as getting the bixpy
😅😅😅😅😅
