- Barbara was the first to record "Baby I'm Yours" on Atlantic Records. A few months later Peter & Gordon had a chart entry in the U.K. with the song. I can't understand why "Baby I'm Yours" is not a hugely famous song...it's terrific!
Only true version
I love her version the best. This is the version I heard as a child.
Same here. It is the best to me
Jody Miller does it very nicely.
You must have been only two or three
Not to be a sour comment, but this is the original. The other are versions. Worse, equal or better; it is all to the ears taste. But Barbara is the real deal.
Do u like the Arctic monkeys version?
53 years later and we're still listening to you🎵🎵🎵🎵🙄🙂
55! :D
55 years later on the other side of the world
@@rajandavid thank god for another 2 years 😁

Yes,this is classic, truly good music, grab your partner and slow dance
Barbara Lewis was a real original. Love the studio version as well. Proof it doesn't need to be overly popular to be great music.
Quite the contrary on most occasions unfortunely.
Cass Ellior did a nice cover but Barbara did it first and my heart loves it..
This music makes you fall in love. Just close your eyes and let the melodies take you to the clouds!!!
Amen!!
The melody and her delivery glide across my eardrums and soothes my mind like an auditory drug.
She has such a great voice - I love this and Hello Stranger!
The Arctic Monkeys do nice job with this song. TH-cam won't let me past links, but search in TH-cam for "Baby I'm Yours - Arctic Monkeys Animation"
you should pin the comment for all to see

Anyone heard the Arctic Monkeys cover? Personally find Alex Turners voice equally as captivating
Laughing Llama that’s why I’m here
Same, but c'mon she's sung it so much better than him
Yeah! Beautiful cover! It's soooo romantic...
The arctic monkeys cover sounds like a beatles song
@@shivankkamotra6533 Sounds like The Beach Boys...
Barbara is probably the most underrated female vocalist of all time! I can't think of one singer today who comes close to her sultry sexiness and totally unique voice!
Yes,she should have gotten more recognition,so beautiful, was she in the hall of fames,I believe she is alive and living in orlando,no books written about her
....and writer.
Barbara performs her hit "live" magnificently! This sounds better than her recording which was released in 1965.
listening to this on the juke at the PX at Camp Pendelton Oct '65 waiting for the buses to take us to the airfield on our way to Nam....
3rd Batt. 7th Marines ChuLai,RVN 10/65-11/66
I heard this last week coming home from an out of state visit; and almost ran off the road, this song is simply beautiful music.
this is the version i grew up with - a classic for me- love it now and then.
Two words Classy and Romantic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fell in love with that song the moment I first heard it, Barbara Lewis really has a beautiful voice she can sing that song all day for me and that,s a beautiful song I would like to find that song.
Wow, what great memories,.I was12 years.old back then. Nov 2019
I loved This song growing up in the late 60s and 70s. My mom loved this song.
I love this and, who are those back-up singers?
Live and no lip syncing too, very rare to see singers backing up the lead back then, Hell, Diane Ross did the whole Love Child LP without Mary & Cindy; Mary went on vacation, and Berry wouldn't wait and used the Andantes to push the LP and, Diane's impending solo career.
Put another "45" on the Hi-Fi, will you? Love this music. Takes me back. Wow.
I was 10 years old and my older brother played this multiple times a night for ever. It became and still is one of my favorite songs from that era.
God I’ve loved this song since I was a young girl ... Thank you Barbara Lewis ‼️🌺

I like the AM's too, but the originl, when I was just a little girl, was the best! Most originals always are. And it has passion and you can understand the lyrics!
The pride and joy of South Lyon, Michigan Ladies and Gentlemen Miss Barbara Lewis.
Just saw Barbara Lewis last night and she gave the scoop on this song. When presented with this song she said "I didn't like it and I tried to do it wrong" "There's only so many times you can do a song wrong" "They sent me to Michigan and I was doing take after take" "And oh, I don't know after about the 17th take the producer had his 7 year old daughter in the studio and he said...."Barbara my 7 year old can do this better than you" " Well that pissed me off and I did the this take" She went on with the song. It was great.
+Rich Yanick Well! I love this song...
aha thats hilarious. she sounds a little bitter about it though
And imagine it went on to be her biggest hit....such a fine song!🎶
So many stars hated songs that became big hits, guess producers do sometimes earn their money
I LOVE this. Some of the most beautiful music ever.
FROM THAT SUMMER OF '65, I WAS 18 Y/O, & ALL OF LIFE WAS AHEAD. ------------THIS IS FROM " SHINDIG " , WITH THE BLOSSOMS BACKING BARBARA.----------MJL
Tagged yourselves. Im the dancer on the side
Baby I'm yours (baby I'm yours)
And I'll be yours until the stars fall from the sky
Yours until the rivers all run dry
In other words, until I die
Baby I'm yours (baby I'm yours)
And I'll be yours until the sun no longer shines
Yours until the poets run out of rhyme
In other words, until the end of time
I'm gonna stay right here by your side
Do my best to keep you satisfied
Nothing in the world can drive me away
'Cause every day you'll hear me say
Baby I'm yours
And I'll be yours until two and two is three
Yours until the mountain crumbles to the sea
In other words, until eternity
Baby I'm yours
Till the stars fall from the sky
Baby I'm yours
Till the rivers all run dry
Baby I'm yours
Till the poets run out of rhyme
Beautiful song sung by a great singer. Thank you.
I thought she was a great singer.
The dancers 😍Elegant and Classic.
I know that one of the three is Darlene Love, but I can't tell which one.
She was the ♥ and soul of any thing she she put her stamp on. After Vietnam 70-71 I resumed my career as a professional drummer. I watched her from the wings at supper club she was working and she would bring a Longshoreman to to his knees. Her delivery and diction were impeccable. She was a god givin sweetheart to talk to. Pure talent with capital T on both ends . Fantastic.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful memories.
Barbara is from an era when pure talent transcended all. With social media a kid is a complete unknown and a year later their a big star
But they never paid their dues on that never ending road.
Am I not the only that Schitts Creek brought them here??? ❤️❤️ #MoiraRose #SchittsCreek ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Baby. I'm. Yours. I'm. Goin to. Stay. By. Your. Side. No one can. Take. Me. From. You. Bàrbata. Lewis. Wrote. And sung. Her. Song.

❤❤🥰❤❤
Doesn't sound too clear Robert..but enjoy...
Hypnotic voice. One of the most hidden gems female singers of the 1960s
Still sounds so sweet even today Feb. 9 / 2023
Van McCoy wrote this, and Bert Berns produced it. Perfect vehicle for Barbara Lewis' wondrous voice…. timeless….
VAN MCCOY?....as in "Convoy"? That Van McCoy?...get outta town! No Way!
DeanMk1 Many thanks to Ruth Creekus for reminding that Van McCoy wrote The Hustle, not Convoy. Sorry 'bout that one folks.
Well Roy, his real name is Bill Fries and he was actually an ad exec when he came up with the persona of C.W. McCall.
Diana Ross eschewed a song and tried to do it badly , I think it was Baby Love.
I think this song would have been a huger hit if the Supremes had released it, not because
Diana could have sung it " better", but because the Supremes had the limelight at the time.
I love this rendition. It is a pure classic.
So glad you put this song and video on,, what a pleasure to see this from those golden years when music was MUSIC!!!
your right.
Pure golden voice
@@pujangga5931 Agreed 100% with you.
2021 and I'm grooving on, I'm not even thinking about corona
HAPPY 76TH BIRTHDAY BARBARA LEWIS (FEBRUARY 9, 2019)
What a beautiful voice, can't listen to songs like this today.
Allan Morrice-Because it's all computer enhanced autotuned guff. Barbara Lewis could actually sing.
Batt Mann yeah so can a lotta people
My favourite song of all time May 24 / 2021
Did u guys heard this song in the voice of Harry Nilsson?? It’s fucking amazing
Back when artists were actually art and could actually sing. Doing this nightly across the country, not relying on fake auto tune to make a life.
What's better than this???????
Darlene Love was in so many records as a back up singer!!!
Finally got to see Ms Love two years ago.....She Blew Me Away!!!!
desert3347 she's amazing!

Nice that she sang this live.
But lines left out: "When the poets run out of rhyme,, in other words, until the end of time".
stevie68a Also “Until the sun no longer shines”.
😢😢😢 I wish live in the 60's!
I'm in love with this song!
Feb.9: Happy birthday Singer Barbara Lewis. Thank you and God bless. Thanks for the upload. Blessings
One of those sexist songs from the past when we talked and sang about love and Make Me Your Baby was one of them.❤😊
What is the name of background singers with b.lewis
my momma had these songs that's how I know them cuz I was born in 72

What a Beautiful Soul SINGER Barbara LEWIS ktf to everyone connected to The huge soul scene ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
I came for the great music, but I stayed for those riveting, er, pivoting hips!
flamencoprof And Totally FULL FIGURED. OH YES.
what a beautiful song, take, s me back to better days
Ayo I luv this song it reminds me of the stuff my grandma and my moms use to play while cleaning up
saw her in person back in 1968 in Louisburg, NC
Quantos anos você tem?
Heavenly voice.
The reason it was and is not a bigger song is because of Diana Ross and Motown . She was queen bee and Barbara was on Atlantic NOT MOTOWN $$$$
Mp Luke it was very well received in the Caribbean and still is.
Didn't want to record this song because she didn't like it!
WHAT A VOICE.
I love this song! Music to my soul
This song is really awesome song especially if.you were serving in Vietnam..thinking about your girlfriend back in the states
❤
Artic Monkeys did a wonderful cover of this beautiful song 💜
Baby I'm yours. Great song love the way she sings
1965 - 20 - Barbara Lewis - Baby, I'm Yours - from Hello Stranger: The Best of Barbara Lewis
FBI: hey, you like this song?
Me: yeah, it's 54 years old.
FBI: ladies and gentle- oh... We'll get em next time...
I don't understand why you made a meme on a 1965' soothing hit, and a bad one at that..
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar i guess, because those FBI memes have theme song titled also "baby, i'm yours" . So the fbi pointed at the wrong address
This definitely wasn't my kind of music but I have to say your voice stuck in my head all these years so much so that I had to Google it to find out who sang it when it was popping into my head cool song
Slow dancing on market st in Galveston at after hr clubs,,home from Veitnam
Not really home,,stayed for 30 days then went back LIVE HARD,,DONT LOOK BACK,,DIE HARDER
At our high school we had across the street a drugstore that had a jukebox and I would play that to my boyfriend 🥰 great memories!
Lucky you!
Great hit. Thank you.
For those interested in Barbara Lewis trivia she was very good friends with Sharon Tate and had lunch with Tate the day before her murder by the Manson Family.
Actress Joanna Petit was there for that lunch. That was actuallly at the house. Joanna is alive and well and on FB!
How tragic those murders were. Such a small world.
Just as good live. LOVE this song!!! The melodies and the lyrics are amazing.
perfect song!
A pure classy performance.
Love thing song. October 2020 check in yall!!’
Check out Mrs. Lewis at age 70 still NAILING it! This woman is magic. Check her out singing “Hello Stranger” at 70. It’s life-affirming. I love you Babs.
They sure as hell don't make music like this anymore.
DC9716 so true
Listen to the arctic monkeys then!
I remember when girls wore their hair like that. Although I think they could be wigs or hair pieces. Either way it's a classy look. I remember it well when I was a little boy. 1965, 7yrs old and in the 2nd grade. Still most black women loved their natural hair back then.
July 2021 Barbra is the original for me
Never a voice like hers
One of my favorite songs is Barbara Lewis version of Hello Stranger.
Total-class, the likes of which we'll not see or hear, again. -------------------WolfSky9
Describes my love for my mate... Bob Morley.
I love this song. I didn't know it was recorded so early. I heard this song from Cher (love that version) in her movie Mermaids.
Love this always have and always will..
🖤🤍
Love, love love this song!!
Remember hearing her voice on the radio at night
Gorgeousness! Lyrucal contralto. Beautiful singer and woman,
Shes singing this live, and it sounds almost like the studio version.... shes got a voice FOR REALS
Nice! Have a great time!
I'll stay & wait.
The great Barbara Lewis! Grammy winning Queen of the House Jody Miller had a #5 Hot Country hit with "Baby I'm Yours" in 1971, and she does a an equally great job, but she credits Barbara Lewis for nailing it first, very well indeed.
I love this song good memories. How are you Jennifer ?
This song can melt a mans heart
Te amo mi Eli
