Peniel has actually been helping btob alot since their debut, especially with International Melodies. His english tweets, translations and updates on schedules. Really helped us alot. Not forgetting his own Peniel videos he did years ago and his POV channel now. I really thank him for still being so humble and wanting to do more
And if you think about it, because of Peniel, out of all the kpop groups, btob has the best English lyrics in their songs (that sound good and make sense)..Go BTOB!!

I am not a fan but I have mad respect for him. I love how kpop idols are coming out more and more and letting the fans know about their struggles (physical and mental). I hope this helps some fans break the disillusion that they have for idol and start seeing kpop idols as humans and artists.

I love how caring and attentive Minhyuk is. He is so concerned, he notices things no one pays attention to, he listenes to everything the boys say, he keeps translating for Peniel during their japanese interviews cause he doesn't want him to feel left out. And Sungjae keeps hugging him and bringing into the group hug whenever Peniel stays behind. ALL of the BTOB boys care for Peniel, love and support him so much that he had the courage to speak up. I think what Minhyuk said was really important. A few other idols have touched upon the issue of them working too much and being under constant stress and experiencing feelings of loneliness and discomfort because everybody around them leads "normal" lives and think the idols' lives are really grand and glamorous and earn them lots of money, when in reality, most of us wouldn't survive a week as an idol and only the really popular and big groups can make a living from singing and dancing. I hope more celebrities will speak about this in the future so that the industry can change a bit.
I feel a lot of older idols are starting to really show the dark side of Kpop. Taeyeon has mentioned that she wouldn't allow her kids to become idols, Sistar had exposed that seniors would try to prey off the innocence of new rookies for their benefits, and now Btob is showing the harsh schedules they have. So sad how this is now their life and have to live this way. I'm just happy Peniel and the members feel close enough to talk it out
aquareayla Yeah, Jessica has said similarly that she wouldn't recommend her daughter to be an idol, Suga and Rapmonster have both voiced their problems with loneliness and depression on their mixtapes, Jonghyun and CL also have spoken out against some stuff that's going on, if more subtly than others. Jea of BEG said older men used to call her while she was on Produce 101 because of the young girls which is honestly just creepy. I'm glad Peniel is happy now, he's such a precious human being and I'm glad Cube and the members support his decision. :)

The industry is really dirty and scary tbvh. I wouldn't even dare try it for a day. I'm not sure if you have heard of this but lhoon covered the song "If I Die Tomorrow" and changed most of the lyrics his own and is basically about idol life too. It was heart-wrenching.
I'm not going to lie, even as a Melody, I always thought that maybe, just maybe Peniel didn't get along with the members, or that the members excluded him at times. This episode really opened up my eyes and showed me that despite all the bantering they do, the members have always been by his side and tried to help him through his tough times. This is also the first time I've seen Peniel so happy and liberated. I'm happy he has his members with him, and I'm glad he feels as if they're family

I completely understand because as a Melody I thought the same until now. I have always felt bad for Peniel he doesn't have much lines in their songs and he does not do much with promoting. Rather than the members excluding him it felt to me that Peniel was the distant one, because the members have always shown extra care towards him. But it's probably because of the language, he speaks and understands korean well but he's a different person when he speaks English looool But he's really comfortable with the members so maybe it's just his personality. He just prefers doing things by himself which I can totally relate to and understand. I don't know Peniel personally but i find our personalities very similar so i feel like I can understand him. Now, he looks so much happier and freer and not just him but the whole group. I am happy too. This episode made me completely trust BTOB's bond.
I dont know BTOB very well but all i have to say is that Peniel is my favourite member and he is an absolutely beautiful person, inside and out. Whether it made it on news headline, got judged by media or praised, he is someone who i will always look up to. honestly I'm surprised more idols havent suffered hair loss. i know i couldnt keep up if i was an idol. i admire him for keeping at it even though he was so stressed and further for coming out that he's suffering hair loss 👏
Wink Blue many idols are suffering from hair loss too but his is a rare and surpise case. And also the fact that they're not as confident, honest and brave about it as he is. They all try to cover it up. But then again i think it's the stress that came after which made treatments and other medical approaches useless.
i think a lot of them are suffering from hair loss which actually can be seen from some pics. althjough i dont think other idols case is as serious as his. its more like their hairline is becoming thinner or what is the word and they are losing the hair earlier than usual. partly because of stress, genetics and a lot of hair dye.
Another example is Chanyeol. Idk if it's gone now, but during the Monster era, he had circular balding, which is probably why he went back to a black colour.
More and more idols are speaking out about stress and how their mental health is affected in the industry. I think this is a great step, the society needs to rid itself from the stigma around psychological struggles. I was really scared when taehyuns mental health history was exposed to the public but seeing yongguk and now peniel being brave and speaking out gives me hope that they will be received well by the public.
I could feel Minhyuk's surprise when Peniel said he felt the happiest to receive compliments from his members. "Compliments from us mean nothing." In a sense, their compliments mean nothing since it's the public's opinion that matters A LOT. But receiving compliments from his friends gives him a reassurance of being valued and appreciated, which I'm glad the members do. :) I like that the manager was cool about letting Peniel date. That's a basic freedom everyone should have, and it's not fair for idol groups to have restrictions on their love lives. Even if not in love, it shouldn't hurt to make friends with people from other idol groups - it's a lonely and stressful career; having friends could really contribute to releasing stress. :/

It's not about the managers entirely, it's about the 'fans' who always create meaning to their idol's every action. Maybe those managers just don't want them to be involved in a 'scandal', which sometimes are only made by haters. Cause a single scandal can break them down, that's how powerful hater's comments are.
This is why NO groups/bands/soloist deserved to be called “lazy” or to be bashed. We as fans should not be shamming other groups or hate them. It’s very important to respect each and everyone of them because they really work hard to be successful. While we are sleeping soundly, they are awake and practice really hard. All of them deserved to be appreciated and respected.

I think more idols should come up and share their stories hardships with others like him, its high time that the idol industry's norms change. It was heartening to see him freely expressing his thoughts on their stressful life. And as truly said by Minhyuk only few idol groups get to earn big amounts, and the competition is so tough that even artists with good skills can't make it big as per their potential. They seriously need to be acknowledged and appreciated more.

the way that eunwoo kept dropping his head made me want to cry. When i first saw this episode 4 years ago, I didn't catch it, but now rewatching it, I caught it. It was subtle, but I can tell it hit home for him. People always doubted astro and eunwoo himself. Saying that he'll never be seen as a true idol and only as an actor. They discredit all if the years he trained to be an idol and his singing abilities. He may not be the best, but he's continuously trying his best at being an idol. I love him and I hope people realize that he isn't just a pretty face. He has many talents other than just acting. And he genuinely loves being in astro. Anyways, I love both ASTRO & BTOB sm. It hurts seeing them hurt like this. Being an idol is a paradox. You make a living off of making people feel better. And yet, it is a very lonely job to have. I wish the best for these idols.

Society has to realize these idols are normal people as well!! They go to school, practice everyday for hours at end, and still manage to put a smile on. Reasons why BTOB should be more known. They really all have a heart for their work and friends. I think the way Peniel said to promote BTOB was difficult. I believe that's one of the reasons he started his POV channel. He really does love his work, but hearing that his manager was a tad tough and false assumptions were made on him, that's really sad. I love Peniel and I'm super new to BTOB, as well. I could tell already he was a kindhearted man.
Peniel represents those idols with dating issues. He literally gave voice to the questions “Why can’t we date?” that other idols are asking deep down inside. Let’s be open minded people
😭 I actually feel really bad for liking kpop, since the industry is really harsh and the idols in general go through excessive stress and hardships. Especially nowadays, it feels like appearance matters much more than talent, which is awful. This causes even more stress to the existing stress which comes from the killer schedules and possible loneliness and drifting apart with friends ,like said here. Also there is the fact there are so *many* groups fighting for the fans' love and attention. I wouldn't want to support this madness but I love kpop and my groups so much.. I just want them and every idol to be happy with their lives and what they do! In the end it's their choice to become an idol, but still. I wish the industry wouldn't be SO raw. BTOB, I love you so, so much! ♡ It was wonderful to hear what Minhyuk said about Peniel how the groups opinions shouldn't make such a difference to him and that fans shouldn't view him differently. I'm not too familiar with BTOB, but this really touched my heart! And I'm so happy to know that someone feels the same way too! I always think about trying to stop supporting KPOP because of how badly idols are treated, but then I also think about how much harsher they might treat them and how hard it will be on the idols from lack of support from fans. There's really no way out of it. But, the best thing we can do as fans is being there as support and reminding them that we are always with them, reminding them that they are only human and help other fans be more understanding when an idol may not act appropriately. It makes me so mad that idols get so much criticism and hate for doing something a 'normal' person would do; like smoking, drinking, or getting mad. Being an idol is stressful, they're not going to be all smiles 24/7.

And fans still fight on comment sections and forums. All of them worked hard. All of them trained for years. Sacrificing education, family time, health just to debut. Theres absolutely no need to compare or gloat to other people. You can be proud of them sure but dont belittle other artists.
That was so deep. I cried. Peniel is adorable. Minhyuk made me cry a lot when he revealed that idol life is hard. I mean all fans know it to an extent but we sort of ignore it for our own enjoyment but when its put right in front of us we cant ignore it and its really heartbreaking

I know Peniel only from ASC and it was quite obvious that he did not fit into the cultural mould well (he was adorable though). I thought he shaved his head for the heck of it. I didn't know his situation was so bad. I'm glad he has opened up about it. The idol industry has never looked glamorous to me. It makes me question what kind of friends these guys have if they're so inconsiderate because it's obvious that they take no interest in their lives.
Hyunsik's body language at Peniel got me Emotional, he might doesn't say anything but he cares a lot. And thank to MinHyuk who always got a Chance for Peniel to speak up at their few interviews. And Eunkwang's warm heart just on another level. Right from the start I fall into their Talent, BTOB has many good singers in the group, then after knowing them I fall into their Great Personalities.
My first thought when watching 6:15 is how happy I am for Peniel. He was worrying about what he could do to promote the group and now years later he's opened up BTOB to a whole new audience/fan base due to being on Eric Nams channel and his social media presence internationally! That's how I discovered BTOB bc I saw Peniel in some of the podcasts! And I'm so glad I did!

I work in this Industry I know exactly how hard and tough it can be and it really really sucks, but if you achieve your dreams it pays off in the end, but many of the things that cause problems and stress are slow to change, I hope we can improve the system but in the entertainment industry people are slow to change.
Peniel’s love language is affirmation. With this love language the person feels love when he/she receives affirmation from people around him, he needs it like water to survive. For other people with different love language it has no meaning but to a person with this love language it means the world.

I feel like the manager isn't getting enough credit. Most managers barely let idols be themselves behind closed doors and make them change their personalities but he just let's BTOB live their own lives. I feel like if more managers had this mindset we would see better performances and happier idols

He is one of the most genuine idols ever, and I admire him so much for coming to the show and telling everyone how he’s feels, and how he’s insecure. Not many idols do this, and I know that it takes a lot for them to do it- so I’m so so proud of him!

I just started following BTOB and I'm amazed at how much love they give to their members. I do think that Peniel is a gem and I'm glad he is part of the group. For them to expand international fans, they would need someone who can translate it for them and Peniel is doing that. Each member of BTOB is precious and I have so much respect for Peniel for pursuing his idol life in spite of culture shock and comfort he can have if he lives in the US

I remember seeing this episode when it first popped into TH-cam, I kind of teared up a bit (sorry, kind of an emotional person) knowing that he has been going through all this stuff. Someone mentioned it before but I did think for a bit that maybe he didn’t have the best relationship with the members (most foreign members, as far as I know, feel a culture shock and maybe he wasn’t used to it yet) but that never escalated from that. I always knew they loved Peniel. I remember Changsub mentioning that they dropped the plan of enlisting together because Peniel isn’t going to enlist so they decided to not enlist together so that some of the members could stay with him. Ugh I’m an emotional wreck

Peniel has actually been helping btob alot since their debut, especially with International Melodies. His english tweets, translations and updates on schedules. Really helped us alot. Not forgetting his own Peniel videos he did years ago and his POV channel now.

I think what Minhyuk said was really important. A few other idols have touched upon the issue of them working too much and being under constant stress and experiencing feelings of loneliness and discomfort because everybody around them leads "normal" lives and think the idols' lives are really grand and glamorous and earn them lots of money, when in reality, most of us wouldn't survive a week as an idol and only the really popular and big groups can make a living from singing and dancing. I hope more celebrities will speak about this in the future so that the industry can change a bit.
I feel a lot of older idols are starting to really show the dark side of Kpop. Taeyeon has mentioned that she wouldn't allow her kids to become idols, Sistar had exposed that seniors would try to prey off the innocence of new rookies for their benefits, and now Btob is showing the harsh schedules they have. So sad how this is now their life and have to live this way. I'm just happy Peniel and the members feel close enough to talk it out
aquareayla Yeah, Jessica has said similarly that she wouldn't recommend her daughter to be an idol, Suga and Rapmonster have both voiced their problems with loneliness and depression on their mixtapes, Jonghyun and CL also have spoken out against some stuff that's going on, if more subtly than others. Jea of BEG said older men used to call her while she was on Produce 101 because of the young girls which is honestly just creepy.

The industry is really dirty and scary tbvh. I wouldn't even dare try it for a day. I'm not sure if you have heard of this but lhoon covered the song "If I Die Tomorrow" and changed most of the lyrics his own and is basically about idol life too. It was heart-wrenching.
I'm not going to lie, even as a Melody, I always thought that maybe, just maybe Peniel didn't get along with the members, or that the members excluded him at times. This episode really opened up my eyes and showed me that despite all the bantering they do, the members have always been by his side and tried to help him through his tough times. This is also the first time I've seen Peniel so happy and liberated. I'm happy he has his members with him, and I'm glad he feels as if they're family

Rather than the members excluding him it felt to me that Peniel was the distant one, because the members have always shown extra care towards him. But it's probably because of the language, he speaks and understands korean well but he's a different person when he speaks English looool But he's really comfortable with the members so maybe it's just his personality. They all try to cover it up. But then again i think it's the stress that came after which made treatments and other medical approaches useless.
i think a lot of them are suffering from hair loss which actually can be seen from some pics. althjough i dont think other idols case is as serious as his. its more like their hairline is becoming thinner or what is the word and they are losing the hair earlier than usual. partly because of stress, genetics and a lot of hair dye.

More and more idols are speaking out about stress and how their mental health is affected in the industry. I think this is a great step, the society needs to rid itself from the stigma around psychological struggles.

I could feel Minhyuk's surprise when Peniel said he felt the happiest to receive compliments from his members. "Compliments from us mean nothing." In a sense, their compliments mean nothing since it's the public's opinion that matters A LOT. But receiving compliments from his friends gives him a reassurance of being valued and appreciated, which I'm glad the members do. :) I like that the manager was cool about letting Peniel date. That's a basic freedom everyone should have, and it's not fair for idol groups to have restrictions on their love lives. Even if not in love, it shouldn't hurt to make friends with people from other idol groups - it's a lonely and stressful career; having friends could really contribute to releasing stress. :/

But yeah, especially after seeing him and hearing his thoughts more through Get Real, you can see that Peniel is a person who only cares about opinions of people close to him. the way that eunwoo kept dropping his head made me want to cry. When i first saw this episode 4 years ago, I didn't catch it, but now rewatching it, I caught it. It was subtle, but I can tell it hit home for him.
People always doubted astro and eunwoo himself. Saying that he'll never be seen as a true idol and only as an actor. They discredit all if the years he trained to be an idol and his singing abilities. He may not be the best, but he's continuously trying his best at being an idol.
I love him and I hope people realize that he isn't just a pretty face. He has many talents other than just acting. And he genuinely loves being in astro.

It hurts to see my Peniel like that but I'm happy he's not embarrassed or ashamed about it. To see his smile when they all started dancing made me cry, just to see the bond they have!! I love Eunwoo (boy in yellow/in Astro) as much as I love BtoB and seeing his reaction to their situation made me hurt inside. No offense to Peniel's situation and the members explaining how it is for btob (i was still so touched by how he openly shared his situatuon) i couldn't help but notice how eunwoo kept dropping his head low in thought. Im sure him and the rest of astro know the exact feeling btob was describing. Life isnt easy and glamorous as it seems for idols. It looked like all the stuff minhyuk was mentioning was hitting home for eunwoo. Especially since astro is considered still a bit new im positive he had a lot of thoughts he wish he couldve shared too.. /: my poor babies... i wish all idol groups the best so they dont have to bear through so many of these struggles by themselves.

Reasons why BTOB should be more known. They really all have a heart for their work and friends. I think the way Peniel said to promote BTOB was difficult. I believe that's one of the reasons he started his POV channel. He really does love his work, but hearing that his manager was a tad tough and false assumptions were made on him, that's really sad. 😭 I actually feel really bad for liking kpop, since the industry is really harsh and the idols in general go through excessive stress and hardships. Especially nowadays, it feels like appearance matters much more than talent, which is awful. This causes even more stress to the existing stress which comes from the killer schedules and possible loneliness and drifting apart with friends ,like said here. Also there is the fact there are so *many* groups fighting for the fans' love and attention.
I wouldn't want to support this madness but I love kpop and my groups so much.. I just want them and every idol to be happy with their lives and what they do! In the end it's their choice to become an idol, but still. I wish the industry wouldn't be SO raw.
BTOB, I love you so, so much! ♡ It was wonderful to hear what Minhyuk said about Peniel how the groups opinions shouldn't make such a difference to him and that fans shouldn't view him differently. I'm not too familiar with BTOB, but this really touched my heart! And I'm so happy to know that someone feels the same way too! I always think about trying to stop supporting KPOP because of how badly idols are treated, but then I also think about how much harsher they might treat them and how hard it will be on the idols from lack of support from fans. There's really no way out of it. But, the best thing we can do as fans is being there as support and reminding them that we are always with them, reminding them that they are only human and help other fans be more understanding when an idol may not act appropriately. It makes me so mad that idols get so much criticism and hate for doing something a 'normal' person would do; like smoking, drinking, or getting mad. Being an idol is stressful, they're not going to be all smiles 24/7.

And fans still fight on comment sections and forums. All of them worked hard. All of them trained for years. Sacrificing education, family time, health just to debut. Theres absolutely no need to compare or gloat to other people. You can be proud of them sure but dont belittle other artists.

I know Peniel only from ASC and it was quite obvious that he did not fit into the cultural mould well (he was adorable though). I thought he shaved his head for the heck of it. I didn't know his situation was so bad. I'm glad he has opened up about it. The idol industry has never looked glamorous to me. It makes me question what kind of friends these guys have if they're so inconsiderate because it's obvious that they take no interest in their lives.

My first thought when watching 6:15 is how happy I am for Peniel. I feel like the manager isn't getting enough credit. Most managers barely let idols be themselves behind closed doors and make them change their personalities but he just let's BTOB live their own lives. I remember seeing this episode when it first popped into TH-cam, I kind of teared up a bit (sorry, kind of an emotional person) knowing that he has been going through all this stuff. Someone mentioned it before but I did think for a bit that maybe he didn’t have the best relationship with the members (most foreign members, as far as I know, feel a culture shock and maybe he wasn’t used to it yet) but that never escalated from that. I always knew they loved Peniel. I remember Changsub mentioning that they dropped the plan of enlisting together because Peniel isn’t going to enlist so they decided to not enlist together so that some of the members could stay with him. Ugh I’m an emotional wreck
