People don't realize the toll stress takes on your body. He may have a slight hormone deficiency or maybe his adrenal glands aren't working properly. I wish that companies start to take a more active role in the health of their employees. This is heart breaking

Honestly, i was tearing when i saw his facial expression when he took off his hat. I do feel happy for him and proud for his courage to acknowledge his problem that he has to go through these 5 years. It is frustrating for anyone who suffered hair loss especially when you are an idol and i can totally understand the pain he has suffered but am tearing because i applaud for his courage to come out to his fans in public....

When they said the cause was stress, it reminded me of myself since i'm also suffering alopecia (at a young age) which my doctor said that the cause was stress or possibly lack of sleep. Mine's not yet as worse like Peniel but he was so brave to confess his hair loss problem. This is one of the reasons why i like BTOB.

My friend has a similar condition to Peniel...but not as bad as his. She had patches of bald spots during our Sophomore year, and her doctor told her that she had to relief herself from stress and do only things that were positive and she even had to go on a cleansing diet to clean out her body. Now Senior year her hair started growing back but it still look as if someone had shaved different area around her hair though. The most inspiring thing is that she went around school like that, and smiled every single day. She took out some of her colleges classes(jnr yrs) because they were stressful to her and even left her so called "friends". She never once thought about negativity. Junior year she became a Junior Marshall, Senior year (more to come) she is ranked number 30 out of 278 seniors. The fact that school almost killed her is scary. Before junior year she was taking AP/IB classes, 2 College courses, clubs, sport, council committee, etc... I see why she was stressing out badly...but that shaped her up. I hope Peniel stay strong and brave after this. Everyday my Ma always tells me.."Out there is your battlefield, you either fight for what you believe in or surrender your rights". I have been losing hair as well since the age of 14 and now I am 20 and it honestly breaks my heart to go or take pictures with my friends as they have so much hair. Watching him being so brave and come out in public with his condition is so brave and definitely will help other people if they have similar problem. This world we live in can be so harsh on us sometimes especially with the idea of striving to be "perfect".
As someone who wasn't ever a hardcore BTOB stan, but just enjoyed their music and watched their performances every now and again, I suspected that there was something going on but tbh I thought it was moreso that he wanted to be bald and his company wanted to cover it up. I never would've imagined that he would've lost such a huge amount of hair so early on in life. I'm so proud of Peniel for being brave and putting himself out there like this, I hope in the future other idols who may be going through something similar will feel comfortable enough to do the same. I've known BTOB during their rookie days but actually was not really interested in them, just Beast and lost track. 😅 But after seeing this I fell in love with them.
Peniel broke stereotypes and his members are SO SUPPORTIVE. That's really brotherhood and friendship there. Will check them out again. ❤️

I do too :( Alopecia, for 6 years. Ha. He is the only idol i know so far that suffers the same disease as me. It's really frustrating. Watching him gives me so much hope. He is such an inspiration. He really is gangsta. Respect.
I have been losing hair as well since the age of 14 and now I am 20 and it honestly breaks my heart to go or take pictures with my friends as they have so much hair. Watching him being so brave and come out in public with his condition is so brave and definitely will help other people if they have similar problem. This world we live in can be so harsh on us sometimes especially with the idea of striving to be "perfect".

As someone who wasn't ever a hardcore BTOB stan, but just enjoyed their music and watched their performances every now and again, I suspected that there was something going on but tbh I thought it was moreso that he wanted to be bald and his company wanted to cover it up. I never would've imagined that he would've lost such a huge amount of hair so early on in life. I'm so proud of Peniel for being brave and putting himself out there like this, I hope in the future other idols who may be going through something similar will feel comfortable enough to do the same. BTOB are really fortunate because their fans are so sweet, they won't judge any of the members for their appearance or anything like that 💖
Honestly, when I first saw the group photo of BTOB, Peniel is the first one I noticed. I was like " Wow, he's so cool. He's the only Kpop idol with that kind of hairstyle. He really broke the norms of Kpop". But I didn't know back then that he was suffering from hair loss. I'm so proud of you Peniel for being so brave! We love you! 💙💙💙
