If that person has a business degree maybe they could get a job at a music company, or start a TH-cam channel in their free time. Or maybe eventually open their own music company? I feel like artist would like working for someone for appreciates music and enjoys making music.
Man BM saying that you should allow yourself ups and downs is key. I’ve been focusing on the up for so long that when I finally lost my streak. I fell sooooooo hard and for years . I finally gave myself a chance but it gets so hard cause environment is crucial to. I was not only beating myself down so hard but others around me weren’t much help either. Instead I would just slipping hard because of who I had with me when I fell. I finally have a a supporter’s and I’ve accomplished a lot more than I ever thought was possible for me. And if I feel low again that person picks me up. I hope to have them forever and repay it to them.
I can't with Peniel, he looks so calm and then he goes his favorite subject was lunch 😂😂😂
Istg that’s every Americans favorite subject 😂😂😂
and ashley facepalming 😂😭
That was definitely my favorite subject too😂
Same though😂😂
That's everyone fav subject 😂

Peniel: LUNCH 😂
Same Peniel! SAME!!! 😂😂😂
Same
I realised that Ashley's mid 20's were probably a time of grief and darkness. But she definitely rose up! And is so strong.
I really need an episode where they talk about bonding with their teammates and their experiences after debuting
Yes
Yessssss
Ashley: "but what if a not nice person does that..."
Peniel: "like you?"
Ashley: *gives Peniel a death stare*
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA the way she glared at Peniel was so funny to me
I was about to comment this.. its like he was about to kill peniel. 😂
i agreed with his thoughts though! horrified when she asked 😆
I love her death stare
What part is that?
Welcome back to Peniel being a big mood.
He truly is me in every situation
I’m pleasantly surprised. I had no idea he was this funny 😆

hahaha even eunkwang calls peniel baby, in wgm when peniel sit next to red velvet yeri eunkwang said they are 'the babies'
Peniel is that person who never knew what to be growing up, never knew if he's ever been cheated, never had bad issues with housemates and never had trouble starting a relationship. Like he's so chill, and I like that about him
wish i could be like that
@@adriennek2050 Same.
I choked up. I totally agree with Peniel. If you have a stable job and you really love something or you have the passion for something, for example, music, do it as your side job. Peniel explained really well. like what ashley said, it's more on the realistic side. but I guess, if you can support yourself financially without your main job, then you can give it up and pursue music. Because at the end of the day, Happiness is all that matters. you cannot live your life unhappy with what you're doing. *I'm also speaking for myself, I'm 25 and i'm having quarter life crisis as well as worldwide pandemic which really affected my career as a dentist lol I'm having internal breakdown while listening to this podcast* hahahaha
i hope the pandemic end real soon and you can have your stable career again and find your true happiness alongside😉.. have a nice day💙
btob melody thank you! I hope so too! For now our top priority is our safety! Stay safe melody! 💙
@@ivybaylon7642 This pandemic has highlighted the importance of savings. At least a year's worth of savings.
The older I got (I'm 36 now) the more i realised that the whole make your passion your job is bs, cause it only works for 0.01% of people. All my friends have jobs that are good but not amazing. At least they dont hate their jobs. They dont have to worry about having enough for rent, food etc since they all earn really well. Their real passion are a part of their free time. Some are in a band, others are powerlifter or coaches etc and it works. I work for an public health institute. Its a good job and I dont have to worry much about money (i work 40h per week) while in my free time I'm a coach and powerlifter.
I'm gonna be 25 in 2 months with an upcoming quarter life crisis because Im so stuck and don't know what to do with myself 😅. I just keep telling myself everything will work out. I hope everything gets better for you, keep safe.

can we just appreciate these strong intelligent TALENTED human beings and the people they’ve become because of the struggles they’ve opened up about? that’s brave
They're really admirable for the way they handle their struggles and came out so strong!!
When Matthew was talking about teaching kids... that hit me hard lol. I teach toddlers and it takes so much emotional, physical and mental strength to keep their attention and make their day fun and full.
yes I agree!!
Hey that's so cool! Sending you appreciation
Raven Llya thank you 🥺
Me too I like being around kids and coming up with new ways and games to keep their attention on the class but OMG some days are just so challenging

Pastor Peniel is a great solo act name
Totally agree with Peniel’s advice. Work as an accountant while you’re young & create music on the side. Spending your time doing something you don’t love sure ain’t fun, but the money you’ll save from it will enable you to pursue what you love doing after. Reality is, if you later on decide to go back to employment, it becomes difficult to find companies that hire someone older, with health issues and with no experience.
“Aww you’re a baby”
“Sure”
PENIEL WHY
for a person who “claims” to feel lost since young, peniel honestly give the best advices. especially the part about pursuing music or get a 9 to 5 job. thank you peniel
Hearing Ashley's story makes me want to see a Chinese wedding

BM talking about quarter life crisis, being at 25, and here I am, with 29 years old with a life crisis, depresson and anxiety. But hey, at least I had fun with this video.
you are not alone, im 33 and been having job/life crisis, depression and anxiety too.
Same boat my friend . And i hate it really... keep trying my best tho...
Currently 25 and have been having life crises since 8-11 every 2-5 years. When he said every 25 years, I just laughed aand thought 'that's cute'. But good luck in life fellow sufferer, hopeful we'll get to enjoy and thrive in our lifetime. 👍🏽
Every time I hear BM talk I realize his way of thinking is the sweetest and he needs to be protected
What if they speak about growing up Korean-American in American then moving to Korea. I wonder if they were seen as too Asian in America or too American in Asia.
Edit: I'm Asian-American and I want them to speak about their experiences too lol the 'Growing Up Asian' memes have become popular and the hosts seem like such a relatable bunch despite them being famous celebrities.
@@joyskapali9774 I personally am from a state and school where there a mostly Asian but I didn't feel out of place. When I moved to my Asian country for college, (I see you US college debt, you suck) I was seen as too American despite knowing both languages well.
Ok, I vote for this topic
Like speaking about their experience being a TCK? ( Third culture kid )
Tablo and eddie talked abt it on his podcast but I don't rmb which ep
@@ivofspds that's different. If you are American but your parents are from another country it's not TCK. However, if you are American and your parents are Korean and you guys moved to, let's say, Spain at twelve and grew up there, that's TCK. But having parents from a different country doesn't count. Moving to another country when you are 17/18 and up also doesn't count.
When ashley unnie said she didn’t get paid for 7 years made me think how many idol groups are there that haven’t get paid for their hardwork yet? But she’s still happy i respect that a lot.♥️
another reason to love peniel; he ALWAYS give a mature, relateable, realistic advice(s), like i can easily try his advice, really nice;;;;
*Don't be afraid to take risks. You'll be surprised where those will take you.*
BM, 2020 ❤
So Eric was on to something when he introduced Ashley as your local kumon teacher?
I thought the same thing!!!
These three is a perfect lineup for this podcast. I saw that BM and Peniel often hava a really different perspective like they were really opposite to each other. But then there's Ashley who could keep the balance between the two. And they're considerate to each other too. Nice!
They're a perfect fit for these podcasts!
The fact that they all never had the intention to become Kpop stars and all came to Korea around 2010-2011 basically means that they were meant to be friends by destiny. God was like, "These three need to be together." 😂😂
Peniel gives me vibe of that one kid who doesn't has dream, don't know anything, so chill and laid back but at the end he's the most successful one
peniel face's panicking when ashley said "I didn't make any money for 7 years" 😂
that screenshot is priceless meme material
The way i fully understand Ashley, I'm 19 but I've been having those thoughts, wondering why I'm so laid-back and chilled and I'm not particularly career-oriented, especially in my family where people are super money oriented and your career is like your everything, people want to know what are before they want to know who you are. Tbh if i have money for sushi on the regular I'm just fine. I think the manner in which our society works now, is that it attaches our value and worth as human beings, onto our level of status, money, relationships. Seeing Ashley already being 28 and still vibing with our shared mindset has really helped me feel this amazing level of peace, and helped me realise that I'm not alone.
Remember my beautiful people, there is no one-size-fits-all formula to living life, success looks different for everyone and as long as you're breathing, I'm really proud of you, thanks so much to this podcast for giving me this new outlook.
Work the job you hate to support your passion. Its just more realistic.
Or start from young age so your parents support your passion
And more miserable
Idol life is a gamble. If you lose it’s really hard to get your life together again. Not having had gone to school and with your age increasing plus for boys they have to go to the army for 2 years. And when they come back their like what do we do now?! It’s tough and so even if you have a miserable job don’t leave it. Do the thing you love as a side thing until it gets big. You still need to make money to accomplish your dreams.
hahahahaha everytime someone ask Peniel a question about his life he literally doesn't know 🤣🤣🤣
Peniel is the prime example of not needing tons of education to speak wisdom and truth. I get what BM and Ashley is saying, but unfortunately that's not how life works. Being realistic while still focusing of your passion on the side isn't a bad idea.
BM:There's a gang of sugar mamas out there!
Peniel: really? How do you know 😏😏
I forget sammy and BM are homies :( I hope they hang out
i'm two years late to the "Get Real" podcasts and all I can say is that I'm the same age as BM was in this podcast and this episode really hits very, very close to home. My quarter life crisis came to me during the pandemic & it was SO BAD. but they're right, it's never too late to actually find the things you wanna do in life.

There's such a huge difference between people raised in different countries and people born in Korea. I wish all Korean idols were this confident and understand that it's okay if it doesn't work out . You can always go and start something new. A great message here guys. Good job. I wish many youngsters listen to you all.

As a lawyer I sing in musical theatre & with my band as a hobby... i get the best of both worlds so agree with Peniel!❤💪
I love this podcast, they know how to talk with the audience. I want Ashley part rime job, sounds like fun
I can relate to almost everything Peniel said in this video. Go with the flow, not knowing what to do or what to become in the future, feels like being the only one who doesn't know when everyone knows their goals, a little bit envy to people like BM who knows their dream and pursue it hard and able to achieve it. Getting realistic answer for the mail. And even getting confused whether never have he's having quarter life crisis.
I love this episodes! Bless for you three and the people behind! 💙
Had a painting session listenin to the podcast with a mini crisis here and there, this feels like listening to older siblings advice and i'm here for it
Looks like everyone laughs when it's about doodoo and farting because peniel and Ashley laughed!
LOOOL Peniel! "Yeah there's a saying- Oh nvm... we talk too much." So cute and thoughtful!!
I like that BM talked about the "quarter life crisis". It's a real thing. And Peniel's fact that he didn't know on what he wanted to do. Society has a set of like targets that we are expected to reach to a certain age and to be honest i feel like that is overrated and like Ashley said you torture yourself trying to make it.
Didn't expect to burst into tears while watching this.. BMs words at 33:02 hit me so hard because I have such a strong desire to create and it's all I think about while I work my 9-5 corporate job. I want so badly to take a risk just once and to try commit to something that makes me happy.
Peniel’s always seems so chill that it surprised me how his advice encouraged setting realistic goals: get your 9-5 sorted out, and pursue music on the side. 💙
BM is "The Kardfather"!! 😂🤣🙏🏼👌🏼
I love these series and it’s so nice to hear Peniel, Ashley and BM talking together~!
Peniel is so freaking funny with that wedding ring. Lol
Ashley:
People will tell me.. people look at me be like,
"Why are so chill? you're not in a position to be chill right now!"
"You should be so driven"
"You should be so ambitious"
"You should have fire in your eyes"
"You should just be so greedy"
And then I was like..
"Why? I dont care about success.. I dont care about money" like it is nice to have but it's not like "omg I need to be rich, I need to be successful!" some people look at it "oh you're not passionate you dont really wanna do this.."
Why being passionate is a must?
Why people think having a mediocre life is a bad thing? Is really it bad?
Tbh success and mediocrity are subjective. You just gotta do you. As long as you, the individual, are happy f- everybody else.
Peniel is so funny 😂😂😂
i came to listening ashley's story. She had the most interisting stories
this is so humbling. i remember being broke, starving, passing business cards to mail boxes just for people to see the value of what I do as a creative. tough times. they really ground and push you to want to live a creative path and test your loyalty to your craft.
Ugh I literally just love listening to BM talk 😭💗
I love this sooo much. I don’t listen to any podcasts but this is just fun. Kinda wished they would read more concerns/problems from fans. Other that that this is literally the best thing to watch
YES IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS EPISODE I LOVE THIS PODCAST SO MUCH
My first time watching a conversation this long w/t getting bored..im a btob fan and i love how peniel answers with all sincerity but in a cute and smart way..this maybe the reason why sungjae loves him so much cos they both look smart and witty.,i love how respectful the convo goes ,not being sarcastic or trying to overpower one another👏👏👏
I never get bored with y’all’s podcast! :))
I relate to BM so much. As soon as I turned 18 I started thinking about my career that within a year I was so worried I got into depression and the Covid lockdown made it even worse. I turned 20 this march and I started going for therapy and have realised that everything happens at its own time. That if I have patience and work hard to achieve my goals I can do it.
I wish we have that system in Malaysia. Where we can try out classes to know which one we actually like and have passion in😣
Ikr
Yes!! Penelope, Big Matilda, and Ashley are back!
one of the podcasts that I could listen from the start until the last second from how interesting and how fun the way they told their stories
I'm a bit torn on the flyer part. It's always difficult for me to decide whether I should take the flyer, because I feel bad for the person doing their job and getting rejected so often, or if I shouldn't because printing those things is a waste of Earth's resources and I will throw it out once I'm out of sight anyway. I hate this form of advertising.
i like how relatable and comforting it is to hear their opinions, makes me feel like i'm not the only one out there having these issues. Loads of love for this podcast!!!!
I was also touching my feet when ashley said "stop touching your feet"
M-maybe i also want a pedicure?? 😮

It‘s awesome how relatable this podcast is. And I felt reassured by them saying it‘s okay to not know what to do and to go with the flow. Thanks.
Like how in the world they didn't pay for her for 7yrs omg🤦🏽♀️SMFH
Most kpop companies consider the money they spend on trainees as money they’re owed when the trainees debut. So like after debuting, they money they make goes to the company to pay off their trainee debt. But companies like the BIG3 entertainments YG, JYP, and SM and others used to do this but stopped a couple years ago because they said they consider the money spent as an investment in their trainees and they should keep the money they earn for themselves after.
Olivia Dawt yea it kinda feels shady and scammy tbh

why is this mail time so relatable that i'm almost teary lol the love for making crafts that resonates so much happiness is there but at the same time your situation in life would make you know that money can buy happiness. it's such a sad thing that not everyone has the capabilities and opportunities to actually go forward with what they love (and actually be practical with it) some of us really need to opt for sacrifices and eventually form our own happiness within them.
