Agree, although I don’t think it played such a big factor in these races. I’ve seen what the q50’s can do on the stock turbo’s, they have good potential. The new 9 speed should help, I can’t wait to see the difference compared to the 7 speed

Being the owner of a B9 S4, I’m pumped you finally had a tuned one on the channel. They’re not quite at M340i speed yet but the platform is extremely quick with bolt ons & a tune. IMO the perfect balance of speed and luxury

Audi has a JB4 too, either way, any audi with an EPL or 034 tune will walk the Q RS, I think you're under estimating how quick S line audis are with an actual tune, Go look up 034, they are pushing 2.5-2.6 0-60 on a stage 3 and thats with like $5000 worth of bolt ons. Stage 2 they are pushing 3.1-3.3 0-60's and high to mid 10's on the 1/4 Look up VF Media and his S4.

Just cause ur use to a downpipe, intake, and all this aftermarket bs on the bmws doesn’t mean u need that on the Amg. The amg responds really well to jb4 and boost control
I have a Q60S RS full FOB. Even with an LSD and Tune, and the AUDI being built with the same setup, the Q’s have no chance!! Those AUDI’s are fast! Still I love my Q! Great video!!
Audi has launch 🚀 control as well. None of the Infinitis do. 😞 also 8 speed ZF vs 2008 Software 7 speed Jatco transmission ⚙️. Infiniti stands no chance. I know the q50 Rs 400 has a different software but still it is kinda outdated

Whereas prev gen, was a DTC trans so even in auto it did have launch control. However you had to maintain the shit out of it. Own both gens b8.5 to b9 .. b9s just has more potential

Even though I have used the JB4, I wouldn't call it a tune. But yeah I enjoyed the vid. Would like to see a race with a real ECU/TCU tune from like 034, IE or EPL. The adjustable ignition cut LC on EPL would be even better ha. That B9 S4 tune also has rolling anti-lag.
Love the Q50RS, but I hate to break it to you guys..... the stipulation @1:44 means the Audi isn't engaging launch mode. The Audi driver knew this, that's why he asked "traction on you said? Launching it, or just flooring it?" I think the 2nd run was a full launch, and you can see the S34 just scoot! I moved form a QRS to a B9 S4, and it's WAY faster. The 135lb difference didn't allow the Audi to walk out of camera view. As for the reliability argument, I've had zero issues with my B9 S4 over the past year. I had no issues with my Q50RS either, but the S4 is just a FAR nicer place to be for a pretty close price point. Both great cars, just had to chime in here. Thanks for the video, awesome cars!

Fastest S4 I see on dragy is 10.61 @130mph on a pure 700 turbo, keep in mind stock turbo record for the Q is 10.65. So nah, S4/s5 needs a turbo to keep up. Qs run 2 sec 0-60 as well lol

The Q50 isn’t that much heavier than the Audi. They are basically the same weight. Differences in driver’s weight or amount of fuel can make up that difference. The transmission and launch control of the Dinosaur Q50 is what holds it back. That transmission is just terrible. Hope Sam feels better. It is terrible being that sick.

I would assume the computer knows the exact shift points to stay within the powerband.. at least I hope it would.
If you tune an engine the power curve may now be different than the factory set perameters in the TCU. You can usually resolve those issues with a TCU tune as well but it depends on your Tuner etc.. so maybe they want to hold out a little bit further to redline than the TCU thinks. Or maybe the transmission does some weird shit and skips gears and they want to maually control it... Or maybe they are fucking up 😂
On a roll a lot of cars benefit from manual mode. Sports mode in a lot of cars are ass and are still designed to keep the car safe than preform to it's maximum effiency. A lot of cars will auto up shift before they even reach the limit manul mode would allow you to. On a roll race, you would always want to be in manual mode, this way you get to choose and match your gear and RPM for the least amount of lag.
on a roll, put it in manual, get the gear you want, floor it, and immediately put it back in auto mode. That is the proper way. From a dig, auto mode can't be beat. Especially the 1-2, it is so easy to miss in manual mode with a car with any decent amount of power and 6+ gears (usually 1st is pretty short and can sneak up on you)

The owner of the Infiniti Q50 Needs ti get ecutec Mod! It gives the q50 a launch 🚀 control mod. You can launch 🚀 from any rpm let’s say 4000k. All depends on what the torque converter can withhold
Unfortunately, only the Ecutek tune along with the RA500 package is a worthy competitor. Plug and play tunes for RS400 don't really make much of a power difference. Please bring in a RA500 Q50/60.. the AWD Qs are just so heavy they need to be making at least 450whp to compete with these lighter monsters 🤢

Red Sports make 400 at the flywheel while stock. Hence the name Red Sport 400😂. If it was an rwd version, you'd expect 10% drivetrain loss(360 rwhp). This model was AWD, so you gotta factor a 15-20% drivetrain loss. So you're looking at anywhere between 340-320 awhp. Tuned to 440 crank/brake horsepower, you're sitting at that 360-380 awhp. Your numbers were right for the tune tho. I think the thing that's holding the Q50 back is its trans tbh. It's also a bit more dated in tech and performance features than the B9 S4 is.

Neither are tuned , they have glorified boost controllers. Also no one seem to launch the q50, why the dude in the Audi look like he's been practicing launching for like a month straight. Hang on tuned red sport making 440 crank 😂 dude tune only is 500+ Crank these numbers are always so odd. Pretty sure Rs dyno 370-380 whp stock which is 440 bhp
Red Sports make 400 at the flywheel while stock. Hence the name Red Sport 400😂. If it was an rwd version, you'd expect 10% drivetrain loss(360 rwhp). This model was AWD, so you gotta factor a 15-20% drivetrain loss. So you're looking at anywhere between 340-320 awhp. Tuned to 440 crank/brake horsepower, you're sitting at that 360-380 awhp. Your numbers were right for the tune tho. I think the thing that's holding the Q50 back is its trans tbh. It's also a bit more dated in tech and performance features than the B9 S4 is.

@@IReahpZz I know plenty of B9 owners with 034 and IE that in the 11s. My S7 ran a 12.2 while stock on a decent day, decent DA. I'm Stage 3+(thats what they call it) with TS1 turbos now, just need to get port injection setup, lines, and hpfp plungers to run E😅. I haven't dynoed yet, hoping for

@@jeron8066 20% drive train loss on a modern car is a total myth, its around 10-15% at most, it's 2022, not 1983 anymore. Times have changed. My friends owned an auto shop and did thousands of dyno pulls with many many cars, modern cars do not have 20% drive train loss, at least anything newer then like 2008-2010

About 150 lbs different so that plus the transmission and the Audi has a really good launch control. Those are the biggest factors.
@@vroomgc yup plus its something like every 7 lbs extra is like losing 1 hp as I recall. So at 150lbs would equate to 'losing' 21hp. I could be wrong, but definitely the transmission is the limiting factor.

Neither are tuned , they have glorified boost controllers. Also no one seem to launch the q50, why the dude in the Audi look like he's been practicing launching for like a month straight. Realities transmission is what gets this race even before the stats of the weight being different and/or the modifications

s4 comes stock with a 3.0 turbo
The B9/B9.5 come with an EA839 single turbo 3.0L V6. The 2.9L EA839 is in the RS5. Same engine, just de-stroked and twin turbo.
