You don't know. They never said it was just for power upgrades. If the owner wants to track his car you don't want to go for too much power and more for cooling. Even on stock power cooling upgrades would be good for longer hard driving. As well it maybe got suspension upgrades and so on. As well peak power numbers look good but how does the power and torque curve look on most tunes? An MTM 1000hp tune RS6 is not as fast as an Klasen Motors 1000hp RS6 tune.
I make that a £300 intercooler, a £150 intake, a £300 map and £4250 of "after years of development by some of the finest engineers, blah blah blah" sales cobblers. Pure greed from the seller and naive stupidity from the buyer.

As the owner of an 034 Motorsport tuned B9 SQ5, I am so proud of that little S4! Same engine and chassis for those who don’t know. I got my SQ5 to be a no fun family car when my second child was born. Rear facing car seats take up a lot of space. I tuned it the first week I had it and I’ve beat super cars in it. Beat an Aston Martin vantage GTS in a launch and a roll. Beat a 997 turbo s on ethanol on a launch but lost on the roll. It’s a fast car! Great tuner car. So disappointed the rs3 is tuned and still has a rev limiter. Who dropped the ball tuning that one??
Tuned RS6 does 11.4 but a stock RS7 Performance did 11.1? This is why you can’t take these results so seriously. Weather and so many factors can change everything
They just told you power corrupted it. Sometimes not everything is just bolt on and tuned nicely. In this case for the RS6. But... look at the S4 getting 11.4 AN S4! Probably get even more out of it if you strip the car.
Tyre temperature and track temperature can make a huge difference. I do think the stock rs7 performance launches better than that tuned rs6 but still. That track is surely too cold to show those cars their true quarter mile times

A standard stg1 ECU tune running 93 with an intake will get you 75 HP. They should have done a stg2 tune running E85, with upgraded down pipe, intercooler, intake, and a transmission remap for the shift points, and they could have easily been at 600+ HP for less than $6k.
Thats because the price is mainly hardware. The software is only a piggyback tune because they just cracked the 8y RS3 ECU. A full ecu remap will get you 130hp+
yeah madness isnt it , i thought Naturally aspirated was poor ! this has a turbo so i assumed would get more boost- remap on my mustang GT 5.0 was 24 BHP lol didnt even bother- need to do headers n intake n tune to get around 90-100 BHP and that is £5k - pretty poor value really - considering my b58 840i was £400 remap n got 95bhp - that was bang per buck good value, not even going into my Camaro build- literally 30k of mods and nearing red bank balances much to the wifes distain LOL
How much of a headache would it be to have drone(s) doing overhead shots of these races? Might add an interesting extra dimension, especially at the start and finish lines.

Every time I watch one of these videos of tuned cars, I'm left feeling jealous of the prices they pay in England for tuning. In Canada, everything seems to be at least double the price.
The piggy back systems are not fully featured upgraded tunes. Furthermore, 034 also has transmission tuning software to match the level of tune the car is running. With E-85 and 034 stage II tune an S4 is in the neighborhood of 500hp and over 600 ft lb (813 nm for the rest of the world) of torque. When wrapped in the plain wrapper the S4 is, it is a great sleeper.
The ECU is still locked for the RS3, plus theres much better tuners now that APR. They were only cool because you could get it done at the dealer and have warranty still.
Can't beat that S4 launch. Audi has that down. My dad had a regular, stick 01(?) A4 when i was a teen that i got to experience once when he was pissed and driving rather angrily. I was loving it, so can't imagine the rocket version 😂😂

So the RS6 has 125hp and 200NM more than stock, but it only went 3 tenth quicker. The RS3 has 70+ hp more than stock and was 2 tenth quicker. Something is wrong somewhere.

Great video as always! But it goes to show, when a car set up by a tuner and by a parts dealer. P.S. 11.6 is stock RS3 8Y times, but for some reason the 8Y's are always pretty slow in the carwow races, don't know why, but 11.6-8 with one ft rollout OFF is pretty consistent in any conditions, here the fastest stock one was 11.8 - ones, and all others it was 12 - 12.1 which is near half a second off.

If you don’t mind, I can propose idea of making race between AMG G-wagons of different generations: G55 compressor (the best G-wagon ever), G63 old, G65 new and maybe G65 V12. It was always interesting to see how these cars are not sporty at all. Please take it into consideration.
I'd like to see a drag race between cars with massively different engine tunes/sizes/brands but with similar power-to-weight ratios. Could be more interesting than this drole race.

As well how does the power curve look? Just a small little peak pressed out of the stock turbos? The performance got slightly bigger turbos for 640hp.

I had a very similar build to the S4 a couple of years back. Mine used a venom hybrid turbo and was tuned by unicorn circa 550bhp. Very fast car 👌

You guys need an IROZ RS3 over there to play with. Those cars are in another dimension entirely. Quite a few doing north of 1000 hp.

You need to get an APR tuned RS3

The V8 S5 I had a few years ago isn’t in the same league as these but it did have a manual box and a custom exhaust and no silly soft limiter.
