Thanks Brandon for the in invite, Steve enjoyed your new Sony X90L
Thanks for showing up. Love the TV so far! :)
You're the reason I want this tv haha
@@benjaminwagner8141 lol. That's what got me to pull the trigger. Tech Steve!
Thanks for recommending this TV Steve!
TechSteve in the video? A crossover i didnt know i needed
That wall needs a 98 + sized tv.
The X90 series has always been a great value for the money. The picture quality is plenty good for most viewers.
Agree. Been living with it for a week and I absolutely love the tv and install!
X90 series are great yes ✌🏻
Really want this tv. This video pops up. Must be a sign
The 98 inch was probably the better choice from the get go, but probably next year there will be more compelling models in that size.
Amazing setup.. love those wires behind the TV.
Nice review keep up the good work B the Installer
I have this 85” tv. It’s quite nice. I’m happy with my decision for this tv.
Geek Squad HT installer here! Great vid :)
1. You can access the lower threads, you just need to unbox it a little more
2. That 4D mount is the best mount, hands down (tip: when tightening the arms on the back of the TV try to lift a little as to prevent sagging over time)
3. Those "annoying" plastic pieces on the mount are removable, also you didn't really need the toggles (you got 2 studs with 4 pretty long lags), that plate is made to have it offset, those rails allow you to slide the tv left and right a few inches but Sony does have the heaviest TVs on the market lol
4. If you use the plastic bags that come with the wall mount you can cut them to make small baggies to catch the dust coming from the wall when you drill
5. When putting the TV onto the wall, it helps if you extend the arms on the TV so you can see where you are hanging it, they come out 6-8inches
I appreciate the watch. I've been installing tvs for 20 years my guy. I wasn't really looking for alternative ways to install a tv. It was unboxed. That mount is not my favorite and expensive. The plastic pieces are unnecessary whether they come off or not. Toggle bolts are good added support and the arms don't stay extended when you put the tv on. Typically one or both push back and makes it more awkward. Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@BTheInstaller Was just making it a point that you *could* access those 4 screw holes that you put the silver adapter into, it's just above the styro. Also, that mount is not crap lol it's probably one of the best built mounts you can get. I sure hope spending $120 is justified for a $2k TV, not sure why you would trust a $30 mount for the job. The mount sits flush enough for most cases, comes out a few inches, has play left and right for centering as your own client said move it and you moved an 85in with two hands with minimal force, it's a great mount.
@CaptianBigums yeah overall I'm super happy with the tv, the mount and install. The mount does it's job and is low profile and and still gives some adjustments.
@stevelui278
I purchased a cheaper, 1/4 price Mounting Dream low profile mount, and already had to take the TV down twice to access the back. My next installation will be the same mount you have.
About the soundboard being on the top of the stand, the top reflects the sound and messes up direct, reflected and the boundry (sound dispersion coming from the edge of the top). Amazon have really cheap soundbar brackets to attach it under the TV; you don't even need to take the TV down, just undo the button 2 screws ans slide the bar brackets under/over TV mount. It would make huge difference.
@@cincydreamhomes Yep! We also recommend clients that soundbar bracket, so good at hiding cables and making it look like a whole package if you do it right.
That mount's plastic can pop off to place your level.
Love it 👍👍 I probably going to buy this tv
I have no regrets. Costco always has a good value on these plus the upgraded remote and warranty.
Good video guys . I got the same Sanus Elite mount on my wall with the 85 inch X95L as of a week ago . Best Buy did mines reassured me the weight would hold and all is well . Thanks again .
Yeah it's a good mount with just enough adjustments to get behind the tv if needed.
@@stevelui278I agree , holds things in place for sure
Great real world review 🇺🇸
For the cost of Sanus mounts, they should have a built in level.
Nice TV set up. It's good to see that you didn't install it too high on the wall like some people do. I don't get why people think that installing TV's up to the ceiling is a great idea. I'm hoping to get a 65" X90L to replace my Samsung NU7100 I've had for about 5 years. It would be a huge upgrade for me. I purchased a 50" X85K for my bedroom during black Friday and it blows away the Samsung PQ.
The back of the 85 inch version looks significantly different than the 65 inch that I have. Really enjoying this tv.
Thanks B, nice vid and great TV. It would have been nice for you to have replace the string fro future, in case he needs to add/DIY a source or a sound system.
With the amount of space below the tv and the size of the room i'd be tempted to do a Nakamichi Dragon.👍
I have the save TV but the 75". Got it during Black Friday for $1500. Absolutely love it.
I think that the height he has his on the wall is perfect, even though it doesn't like up with the windows.
Thanks, yeah I think the height ended up being perfect. If we tried to line it up with the windows it definitely would have been too high.
Say tech Steves name 3 times and he shows up 😂
Lol yup
I bought the 65 inch version of this tv and love it. I was thinking of upgrading my current sound bar which the one that was installed in the video? Also any recommendations for Sony soundbars?
Installing this exact tv next week lol
Boy B you make it look so easy, but it kinda looks really complicated installing that wall mount someday. Hopefully you come up to Santa Barbara and do mine.
Steve shoulda said "Hi Steve" #missedopportunity 😄
Love my 75" X90L
Think about getting the 85 or 98".... thanks for watching
def get better processing than the samsung too.
Sony Best technology Japan 👑💖
Grate information! Do you ho to take the feet off this tv? I was going to wall mount it now, but am not sure how to take the "feet/OEM Stands" out/off. nah infor would help. Thanks.
That TV needs a bigger Soundbar with a Sub, it looks tiny under the 85"
I’ve seen comments that for 85” you should be sitting no more than 8 feet away. Shoulda gone with the 100” 😂😂😂
Definitely. maybe in a year or two when the 100+ tv's come down in price. This one will go to the bedroom :P
My Samsung Frame just 3 years old bit the bullet.
Good thing I purchased an extended warranty and now enjoy my Sony 65X90L with Totem Acoustic speakers
My 55" Q60T QLED I got for black friday from micro center in 2020 bit the dust right outside of the warranty and my dad bought one to replace his old one that did the same, guess im out 450 + 50 repair. Endless power loop due to faulty supply, couldnt replace shorted chip because it was tac soldered to the panel with ribbons 40 times and you would destroy the panel fixing it. The repair guy told me that he almost exclusively deals with samsungs and theyre always breaking down outside of warranty so he recommended a Sony as they're easy to repair and known to last. While the samsung was a big purchase I jumped up to a Sony X90l 64" 4k 120hz from Costco for 1200 and got my mom a 400 dollar LG UR8000 64 inch UHD For 200 off with costco direct, and a 63 dollar rebate, AND a 5 year warranty + free shipping. Asked samsung for a discount on a new one and they told me no, screw samsung.
Very nice
Wow! Now I know why the homeowner did not go for the 98"...$5K difference! Shame as that wall certainly had the room...
yup there is a huge jump in price above 85". A few years ago it was a huge jump in price over 75". I'm sure in a few years 95" TVs will be affordable and come down in price as well. I also had quite the deal on this x90L.
Nice Sony TV and good choice also. Just one thing is driving in those bolts in you know that it's easier to use a impact driver or impact wrench instead of the drill trust me makes installs way easier and better. I also notice that you try to make all installs so hard when TVs are not hard to mount on a drywall wall. Other than that keep installing buddy!!
Did the X90L get a new google tv interface?
What would you suggest think of buying a Sony not sure what to buy because I got big windows in my living area , not sure if I got OLED or led tv
What’s the best wall mount for this TV
Great job. When you do these big TVs do you charge by the job or hour?
Typically by the hour. Sometimes by the job a set price. I don't do them that often as I do the TH-cam full time. Thanks for checking it out Craig
I love these video awesome job! Curious why you guys decided not to use the TV as a center feature. You mentioned it, but I didn’t see you run the wire.
Good eye for detail. We didn't have a cable that was long enough. Going to add it later.
Ahhh, the simplest explanation usually fits. Once you get it set up, please let us know your thoughts - that is a great setup that I think many folks are thinking may work for them. Thank you and have fun!
@@stevelui278 what is the model of this soundbar, and what cable it requires?
@cincydreamhomes it's the A3000 which is the cheapest one sony offers with the center channel feature.
What toggle bolts do you use? Great video!
Thanks. Typically any 3/16 by 2.5 inches.. the 3/16 ones are easier to use and just as strong. At home depot or Lowes they have decent ones. The hilti brand ones are the best
which toggle bolts do you use?
Is this one better than the A95L?
where can we get an 85 inch tv stand? 🙏🏼
Hey man do you know anything about a junk TV called Synix, the price of the TV screen is equal to the TV, and it failed to work in just one year of service.
does to tv support wifi 6?
How much cable length you wanne sell
Have you even drilled into a pipe or wire? Anything you did not plan for in a wall? I know you have (had)insurance . If so how many times? Love the vids.
Looking to mount mine. I’ve got the similar viewing distance from my fireplace (about 11 feet to my couch). Could you mount it 5-6 feet high (which is the middle of the TV)? The living room has a 2 story ceiling.
Absolutely. Whatever looks good to you. I try to keep it looking connected to the surroundings so you could see we had a hard time allowing it to be that high because of the stand but it worked.
at 7:01 just put your level tool at bottom metal frame why to mess with plastic?? Get a nice new level with a strong magnet which you can use as...STUD FINDER too
85", what is this my own personal drive in movie theater???
My OCD really wants the bottom of that TV to be level with the windows...
Looks like 85 is a bit too small for the wall. Otherwise it's a nice clean setup
Too small? Dude it’s 85 inches lol. Hard to go bigger than that without spending a fortune.
I'm the home owner... lol yeah who would have thought 85 is too small? Maybe in a few years 100+ inch tvs will be cheap. But I feel the size is perfect. I don't want my entire wall dominated by a big black box.
Will this mount work on the 83 a90j when u push in is it flush
Nope unfortunately. It's not completely flush. I think you wound need a mount that doesn't adjust to get a flush look
This is a great TV...
No it's not. Blooming is so bad on it.
@@griffith290I thought Samsung was best known for its blooming 🤔
I missed the reason for 2 HDMI’s?
Sound bar and likely a PS5 he said. Some want to just install 4 for the sake of it and I typically don't do that. 2 is good
@@BTheInstaller figured one for the Sony soundbar and perhaps a BluRay player. Does the soundbar automatically configure the X90L to be the center channel? I’ve heard pros/cons on how that sounds.
You guys didn’t connect the ethernet port?
Slower than wifi
Yup, what Brandon said. My house is actually wired with ethernet from the wall but I can get up to 500 megabits with wifi vs the 100 megabit ethernet port on most TV's.
Man that 85 looks small on that wall
Its sad that in India we get 65" X90L at the same price
There is big dark blur at 4 corners of this TV, this one is a defective TV.
Lovely tv but I think it’s 5 inches too high.
That’s what she (Jenn) said 😅
I thought it should be level with the bottom of the windows. To each their own.
👍👍👍🇹🇷
antireflective coating is pretty bad
It's definitely a bit too low. At least level with the bottom of the window.
Nope. 10 other people already saying too high. It's right where it should be
Definitely not too low. It's perfect viewing angle from the couch and I can also see it perfectly from the dining room and kitchen.
Leave it in the styrofoam and put the bracket on. Don't take it out like that and lean it on the screen on the corner of the sofa.
у тебя бошка не вспотела?
Beige walls are so triggering 🤮
It's actually called worldly grey from Sherwin williams
Is there a too much screen?
There’s no such thing, what it is out there is too much “brother in law” advices, too much envy, and too much greedy losers
Go Big or just don’t go mofu#*er
Should have installed the TV at the same level of the bottom level of the window(4 inches higher). It would have looked better
a contractor with a brain amazing lol
