Geek Squad HT installer here! Great vid :) 1. You can access the lower threads, you just need to unbox it a little more 2. That 4D mount is the best mount, hands down (tip: when tightening the arms on the back of the TV try to lift a little as to prevent sagging over time) 3. Those "annoying" plastic pieces on the mount are removable, also you didn't really need the toggles (you got 2 studs with 4 pretty long lags), that plate is made to have it offset, those rails allow you to slide the tv left and right a few inches but Sony does have the heaviest TVs on the market lol 4. If you use the plastic bags that come with the wall mount you can cut them to make small baggies to catch the dust coming from the wall when you drill 5. When putting the TV onto the wall, it helps if you extend the arms on the TV so you can see where you are hanging it, they come out 6-8inches
I appreciate the watch. I've been installing tvs for 20 years my guy. I wasn't really looking for alternative ways to install a tv. It was unboxed. That mount is not my favorite and expensive. The plastic pieces are unnecessary whether they come off or not. Toggle bolts are good added support and the arms don't stay extended when you put the tv on. Typically one or both push back and makes it more awkward. Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@BTheInstaller Was just making it a point that you *could* access those 4 screw holes that you put the silver adapter into, it's just above the styro. Also, that mount is not crap lol it's probably one of the best built mounts you can get. I sure hope spending $120 is justified for a $2k TV, not sure why you would trust a $30 mount for the job. The mount sits flush enough for most cases, comes out a few inches, has play left and right for centering as your own client said move it and you moved an 85in with two hands with minimal force, it's a great mount.
@CaptianBigums yeah overall I'm super happy with the tv, the mount and install. The mount does it's job and is low profile and and still gives some adjustments.
@stevelui278 I purchased a cheaper, 1/4 price Mounting Dream low profile mount, and already had to take the TV down twice to access the back. My next installation will be the same mount you have. About the soundboard being on the top of the stand, the top reflects the sound and messes up direct, reflected and the boundry (sound dispersion coming from the edge of the top). Amazon have really cheap soundbar brackets to attach it under the TV; you don't even need to take the TV down, just undo the button 2 screws ans slide the bar brackets under/over TV mount. It would make huge difference.
@@cincydreamhomes Yep! We also recommend clients that soundbar bracket, so good at hiding cables and making it look like a whole package if you do it right.
Nice TV set up. It's good to see that you didn't install it too high on the wall like some people do. I don't get why people think that installing TV's up to the ceiling is a great idea. I'm hoping to get a 65" X90L to replace my Samsung NU7100 I've had for about 5 years. It would be a huge upgrade for me. I purchased a 50" X85K for my bedroom during black Friday and it blows away the Samsung PQ.

Looking to mount mine. I’ve got the similar viewing distance from my fireplace (about 11 feet to my couch). Could you mount it 5-6 feet high (which is the middle of the TV)? The living room has a 2 story ceiling.
Absolutely. Whatever looks good to you. I try to keep it looking connected to the surroundings so you could see we had a hard time allowing it to be that high because of the stand but it worked.
