Geodes are so much fun. It's like presents after you find them. 😁💞
Yes you’re right, it is like opening up a little treasure chest!
I didn’t even know that there were geodes in Illinois lol, not even that far from me either
Hey dude love your content you've got me looking for crystals in my area. Whaaaaaaaaaaat! Keep doing what you're doing!
That’s so awesome, check and see if you have any local gem & minerals clubs, they can really help and have cool events 💎💎💎💎💯💥
@@TheCrystalCollector I like your fossil hunting videos
I want to start looking around in my area any advice on where to go? :)
4 months now any good finds?
@@TheCrystalCollector unfortunately Gem clubs only exist in the USA. I live in Europe which is not that rich in minerals
You are the greatest crystal hunter EVER! I absolutely love your channel. You and Matrix bring me a lot of happiness.
Thanks so much 🙌💥💯💥🙌💎🙌💎💥🙌💎✨✨✨✨🔥🔥
I swears his dog is not real! He's so cute!
If you are at Keokuk, you are in Iowa. Since you are at Hamilton, you are in Illinois. if you can see across the Mississippi, you can see Keokuk. Where ever you are, nice geodes. And nice lil doggie, too Watching Matrix is part of the fun
4:40 Life is like a pile of geodes
Im a stay at home dad and my 4yr old daughter and I have recently started rock/gem collecting after a mock mining session she had at a local farm. Her name is Rogue and she LOVES geodes and like her birthstone her favorite is amethyst! We are hooked on your channel and have found something we really love to do together! You keep digging, we'll keep watching! ✌#whaaaaaat😁💎
Matrix is a smart dog he helps out every video
Lots of fun with those Geodes and everybody really having fun!! WHAT BETTER ANTIDOTE for our "times" than GOOD CLEAN FUN in nature with friends like the "camping couple"! Take care!
💜💎💯🤩🙌🙌
Check out Sheffler's Geode Mine about 20 miles west across the river from Jacob's. Some really nice ones there and easier digging. Dig the two foot seem just above the dark shale.
Yes how many to go to that location, I’ve been hearing about that spot as well, thanks
I love to watch you. You always have a smile on your face. You can tell you’re enjoying yourself. Plus you have Matrix! I’m a dog lover too.
Fun times at this location! Y’all for real check this place out if your ever in the area! The geodes are all over the wall! Just bring the right tools, even safety glasses if you new to digging this way. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
The camping couple just posted that they had their car broken into and everything stolen
Its one of my favorite places to mine geodes. And the Schefield mine out in keokuk isnt terrible either.
@@Bizz420 the area is pretty rough depending on where you go.
Shefflers mine* sorry
I’m in Illinois! Looking to take my 9 yr old daughter. I just wanted a color of some sort.
Awesome adventure beautiful crystals on the insides stain remover and away you go awesome thank you
I'm SO jealous! I'm dying to dig for goodies!!
I'm in Oregon. I guess I'm gonna have to go on a road trip!!
Same here I'm in coos bay
Oregon has some great stuff, you shouldn't have to go far
@@cptchumknuckle True. I've collected lots of good stuff. And I have many pounds of obsidian. lol
We have some thundereggs, but not filled with crystal,,that I've found anyways.
I have a NEED to dig for and find the SPARKLY stuff!! LOL!
My next trip will be to Opal Butte. 👍
And here I am in London, UK…
I especially love the one that fell out of the wall and into your hand.
you hid it in my old stomping grounds, lol!
I'm from Indiana, sitting in Lagrange Georgia near the Hogg Mine which was and will continue to be a good time, THANK YOU 😁⛏️👍. That said, your clothes, the sunshine and greenery says this is an older video, LOL 😋 not that it matters as it's still cool 😎 and relevant for warmer weather planning, unless one likes being cold or just doesn't mind. I'm a cold ninny😂
Thank You for the education and joy you bring to us all. Blessings in all your hunts! ✨😇🙋🏻♀️
That’s so awesome that you’re able to get out and do some digging, nothing more fun than that! Glad you was able to check out the hog mine, it’s a cool place but the owner yeah that’s all I’ll say, LOL
Geods are my favorites. I love amber but lol its resin ..i joke.. I am a geod..my beauty is on the inside and is natural. Diamond Snh naw ..they arent pretty on the outside either if its real.lol. they can be made beautiful. But everyones only sees the outer beauty ..and thats what makes it beautiful.. Lol you ate so. Lucky awesone video you seem like so much fun!

Love it!!! Just few hours from me
Cant wait to check this place out
Thanks as always!!
Love your videos and all your comments along the way; your a funny guy.
Twenty years ago this Fall I took a trip to Keokuk Iowa to look for geodes it was one of my best vacations. I brought home 40 or more in a one day hunt. Talked to local she showed me a geode in her back yard that must have been 36 inches across. She said her husband got it from their hillside. I tried to buy it but she wasn't selling it.
Brian you made some great finds. Thank you for sharing this one for sure.
Oh wow that’s a huge Geode, no wonder she didn’t sell it, LOL! That’s cool you brought home that many, it’s a fun place!
What a coincidence this video should post on the same day I got a big box of open yourself geodes in the mail for my family.
Enjoy opening them, I wish they could be found in the UK even though I'm not able to look for them I have family members who would love too. Love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK
Oh wow that’s so awesome, thank you so much for the support also! 🙌💯💎
I find geodes fascinating Bryan, each one you open has a surprise inside just waiting to be discovered. I have seen some large parts of geodes with amethyst crystals inside at our sons shop in the past, his Dad helped deliver them as they are too heavy for one man.
The camping couple enjoy finding the geodes and crystals as much as you and Matrix, did he find any while he was scrabbling by the way lol? Enjoy your travelling and I look forward to seeing what you find in the next video, take care and stay safe please my friend God bless you both love and hugs to you and Matrix Mary-Ellen UK
Yes they are really like opening up a treasure chest each time, it’s really fun to open them up and see what might be inside!
I heard the camping couple got robbed , Katydid put up a link for them on her channel ; ) sorry to hear about it and hope they keep going !
Yes, they found two of the robbers, got some clothes back but not everything yet. Cops are very involved with it so that’s good. Thanks foe the support 💯💎
As always... an entertaining adventure but the star of the show, for me, is matrix! So stinkin adorable.
I went here and spent a few hours mining there a few weeks ago. I definitely need to head back to the area during the Summer because the weather wasn’t ideal at the time. I did find a small one with a tiny dolomite cluster in it though! I’d like to go back some day.
Yeah we were there a couple of months ago, I’m hoping to get back when the weather warms also! It’s such a fun time!
Beautiful geodes! Your dog is super adorable and smart!!! So cool! 😊
We walk up the creeks coming down from the bluffs around Alton IL. We find bowling ball and water melon size ones without having to dig for them. We never break them open we use a grinder with a diamond blade or a tile saw. Plus we find lots of Trilobite fossils.
Oh well, sounds like an epic location, that’s cool!
I would love to check that out! I’m not super familiar with the area as i’m located a bit south down in Kansas city, but i’m planning on making a trip in the spring for some rockhounding. Any tips for the Alton area?
@@kaydog2008 Do you know if most are public land? I’ve been doing some researching since seeing your comment but it’s hard to tell which areas are gonna be off limits or inaccessible. Thank you so much again for the tips!
@@tabbyelder As far as I know if a fence doesn't run across the creek bed we can follow it up. Sometimes you will find it but it's a matter of asking the land owner who is happy to let you rock hund.
@@kaydog2008 I figured. Thanks again! Really appreciate it.
Que grande eres hijo!!!!Pero el perrito es un puntazo 😄😄😍😍😍👏👏👏
I like Jacobs mine. I need to go back, thanks for such a great video.
Gosh! That’s a lot of geodes, hopefully I can come here one day!
Hey mate my son loves watching you dig for crystals. And finds Geodes amazing. As first appearance is a rock. He can't believe it. He is 4 year old. Cheers
Oh that’s so cool! Tell him I said whaaaaaaaaat!!! 💎💯💎
Great episode. The geodes were nice...but SO MUCH MATRIX!!!
Not our usual type of video but really enjoyed that!!
Awesome 🙌💥👋💯💎
The More You Know: I "like" every video before I even watch it! Thanks for such great Entertainment!
Instead of trying to crack the small/tiny/solid ones, why not just sand down the outide until you get to the crystals on the inside? Then take that sanded and polished piece and make jewelry. You could even shape/carve them with a dremel. Just a thought.
That is a really TOTALLY CREATIVE idea!! It would be fun to try!!
@@kavannahlight5378 I think people would love it. You could even dye some of the crystals different colors. Especially if the crystals are carved. I've done it with other stones and they turned out AMAZING!!! Couldn't keep them in stock.
@@lizmbrad Please share your store, if you feel it's appropriate. I would truly love to see your creative artistry! Your creative energy "vibes" are off the charts! Thank you!
@@kavannahlight5378 thank you for the compliment... I'm actually in the process of starting one up. I have a lot of my work ready to go. Just a few things to line up and I'll be off and running. I'm assuming you create as well? I would love to see your work. Is there a way to do so?
@@lizmbrad I hope we 'run into each other' again once your shop opens and I can get a peek. I have made my own jewelry, but these days I mostly purchase. I love stones, bottom line!! I get so much true joy from their beauty, energy, and healing powers! It began very early in life and has grown!! Great luck on the new shop!!
We had a ton of fun there with the kids this past summer also!
Love those geodes
Hello Brian and Matrix. Hello That Camping Couple!!
Breaks my heart to see you using hammers on these geodes. That little one that shattered in to a million pieces would have been gorgeous had it been cut on a rock saw. Still, love your content! Keep up the great work!
I had bought a legit Geode cracker, it came in the mail and the chain was all messed up and would not work, so I was anxious. We only chose to crack the thick ones, nothing lighter ones that we know were good
Loving the excitement every time!
I made a right on the creek and walked about .5 down and found the mother load of geodes. It was not easy bringing them back to the car.
Now you are in my territory! Love geodes!
Love geodes :)
Matrix reminds me of my dog that died last year. Just subscribed and been watching tons of your videos.
I’m so sorry to hear about your pup, but thank you so much for watching and I appreciate the support
@@TheCrystalCollector you're welcome.

Beautiful samples, keep it up my friend !!
Good continuation and always with attention !!

Best crystal youtuber!
Sold me. I want to go this weekend!!!
Now I want to look for geodes!
Man. Oklahoma only has rose rock and selenite. (Both in the dusty top corner and not very interesting.) Wish we had something better to find around here! XD
That's an awesome place I was there a few years ago
Super video👏👏❤️😎
Ese perrito se merece un¡¡¡ OSCAR!!!!
i want to go now!!
Me too
I would've loved too of met ya'll today, but i was at work. I don't live that far away from jacobs geode mine. If your ever back up here again let me know I'd like too met ya and have a fun day diggin.
Hopefully getting back up there soon, this was a couple of months ago , just now getting it edited
East Tennessee has them in creeks and branches. Ask owners first
You broke my heart just like those geodes using that hammer 💔🔨😥😂 i love your video!💜💜💜💜💜
Are use a saw to cut them a lot of times, but sometimes getting the natural cut with a hammer is fun
love your stuff. Why don't you use a saw to open them up? Gives a much more nicer cut
I do lots of times, but also like the look of a natural cracked ones, both have their pros and cons I think. Thanks foe watching 🙏✨
Eastern Washington Naches area on the east side of Mt. Rainier why 410 ya can find Geodes
7:47 Matriiiix love you! 😍😘😘😘😘
🐶💜🐶💜🐶💜
you should get a big battery bank and a rotary hammer drill so you can dig easier
3 hours from me, I want to go!
I need to go here!
seriously LOVE your stuff brother
wish i could tag along but im stuck in Australia BOOOO!
Can you possibly tell me where or who to look for, for information about a geode I found? It was found in western Kentucky. When we broke it open, it had what appears to be two flower buds and a leaf inside. They are dry. There was a tiny hole in the geode but absolutely not big enough to have the plant matter shoved into it. I don't want to give it up, it was a really neat thing to find. I would like to find someone who can help me understand it though!
Thank you so much!
Crystal
do you think the mud inside is any proof of continual feeder tube growth or do you think it was trapped inside at some point when it was still open ? just was wondering about agate growth and such , still a couple theories of growth, I was thinking your one of the people with a wide spread perspective of habits and such , and probably have your own version of the growth theory.. any how nice vid, and happy hunting in a new Year !
I’ve asked around and no one really knows exactly what is going on with the Geode formations, there’s lots of theories but I need to look more into it myself
I gotta make a drive up north soon! I wanna get one of those pipe cutters to split em!
Yes it’s fun!!!!!!! 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎✨💯💯💯✨✨💯✨✨✨
I wish I could find those where I live. I'm in northern georgia and I've only ever found a quartz vein that had some really beautiful specimens, but no geodes
Northern Georgia Quartz can turn into crystals, always keep looking for sure. I’ve never heard of Geode‘s forming in the southeast though, only hydrothermal tight pockets that form Crystal
Love your videos.
My Daughter and I have been getting Geodes out the Ying yang, running out of places to put them...do you recommend putting them outside as Decoration? I think they would get dirty quickly in a garden where I would want them. We LOVE THE SURPRISE OF OPENING THEM! Wish I found more variety, they've all been the same except 3 or 4 we've gotten were truly unique.
Yes they could go in the garden, the rain will not hurt them, if anything they could get a little moldy after a while and you can hit them with a pressure washer in it immediately will come right off
I would like to do what you do! Thank you always for inspiration and knowledge. I'm in iowa if you know of any places I can go?
Yes, Keokuk is one of the best Geode places in the world! I suggest checking out the Geode fest, we are going to go try to dig in the area soon also!
What kind of dog is matrix? I love him 🐶
Hello. Guys I would like to learn more about geology - is there any good book providing information about finding minerals crystals etc?
