    Next time you want to toss a stone away remember me... lol I'll take any you don't really want. I'm disabled and can't walk or stand. So I have no way to dig my own. God knows how I wish I could.I have a geode with crystal and aquamarine inside, some Amethyst, Quartz Crystals, Onyx, a baby Sapphire, and a tiny little Ruby. One that I have no idea what it is. It's quarts crystal, and looks like it's never been washed. Some of the crystals are orange others are clear or some have what looks like red sand inside the quartz. I have been studying about stones and all there names. I'm getting better at it every day. You Tube is a real good place for me to gin experience with all the varied types. My husband and I will take the tests on stones and when they show the rough stones I say what stone it is. and he tries to guess too. I only missed 3 on my last test. I think my getting old now may have something to do with not remembering 100%. I have been watching your channel almost every day. I subscribed and all that utube jazz. So get to posting, and I'lllet you know when I have finished your video dig's. Bye hon.

    I see you missed the approximately 36-48 hr window in the spring between the weather getting nice and the hoard of bloodthirsty emerging. Nice to see the perspective of someone from outside the area checking out some of the deposits in this part of ontario as i think all to often we take them for granted. Thanks for posting

    This was the first video of the Crystal Collector that I saw and started me watching. Your excitement shows just how much you love crystals Bryan, and its contagious lol. Its strange to see no Matrix but they are gorgeous crystals. I don't remember seeing the red crystals but that means I watched it again as if it was the first time lol. I had fun watching the crystals emerge from that hole, I dont think I would have got in there not that I was big when I was young but I dont like tiny spaces. I will try watching some more and wait for a new episode. Love and hugs my friend Mary-Ellen UK

    I've been in northern Canada fishing, the mosquitoes are miserable and the black flies will literally take chunks out of your skin. We used a bear grease repellent that stank like doo doo, but it worked very well. After about the 3rd day you didn't notice the stink so bad, everyone else was wearing it. I hear that there's a newer version available without stink. I know by experience that the original version worked very well.

    8:10 you can dissolve the calcite with some kind of acid. For example muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) can be used (I find it to be the most useful in terms of effectiveness and cost)

    • @DrachenGothik666
      @DrachenGothik666 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might need too much and it might be an environmental hazard in larger amounts. I dunno, it seems like too hazardous a substance to be carrying around on a semi-professional hobby dig. I know it's the same stuff as our stomach acid, only concentrated, but still a bad idea. Life is messy, and a muddy dig where you're climbing around in a hole trying to prise a crystal out of it's matrix doesn't seem like the best place to use that method. No go. Maybe take the larger chunk home and use the acid there to remove your crystal from the matrix where you can control conditions better to be sure of both your safety, that of the environment and that of your crystal.

    This is a nice business. The investment in equipment, heavy machinery, storage, and transportation as well as mining permits are worth it for professional prospectors. Average folks can not afford such large scale investments. Still worth the entertainment value is there with the quirky commentary from the show host. Cheers~

    I grew up not far from Utah Lake. When the water was high, it would flood fields for miles and miles around. Talk about mosquito heaven. Fun fact: only female mosquitos suck blood. The males eat plant matter.

    Great video! I wish you would carry a spray bottle full of water to wash off those crystals and show them in the camera. Keep up the good work! Looks like you're having a lot of fun? God bless! 💓❤💓

    Hey! I have a big forest for my backyard with two rock quarries in sight, and I live in New Brunswick, a bit outside of the capital. Do you think thered be a possibility of finding something hidden by the brook/river or within the forest ?

    Which province/territory in Canada were u digging in?

    Dang it, I spent some time up in bancroft and all I got was some sodalite (nice pieces too) and some nice boulder feldspar and some green stone with quartz veins (and a little feldspar) in it that is amazing. But I asked around at about 10 places about mining for crystals and there was no help to be had. Where do I find the place you were at?

      Chris - IMHO 1st stop should be the Bancroft Chamber of Commerce. They run tours and are an excellent way to get started. Otherwise, they have info on the larger public sites in the area that you can do "self directed".

      @@TheCrystalCollector thank you for living our dream, we love watching you, yes please let me know if you are planning to make it back, i have several semi precious stones myself, some given, some found, but don't know the kinds other than the usual known stones, quartz, rose quartz, smoky quartz or smoky topaz, azulite, anyways, your smarts help us and we appreciate it so much, now if only we could actually find/dig/mine our own instead of buying/being given them, we would feel the excitement you do, please keep these videos coming
