@@TheCrystalCollector I have arthritis in many of my joints so am rarely without pain, when the air is damp it is worse and today is one of them. Still when I watch a video I love (and I only follow a few channels) I forget it as I am so engrossed in them lol. The other thing I do is read on my kindle, I have always loved reading and when I was poorly my late Mum could always keep me in bed with some good books, my older brother knew what I had from the local library and used to get some new ones. I would have loved to receive the amethyst you sent me but I never received it sadly Bryan but our youngest son sent me one as a gift, zi think he called it a wand and it is lovely. I hope Matrix and you are doing well, Mary-Ellen UK

I've been there quite a few times have fun! My best is about softball size with blue chalcedony and golden barite. Most of the geodes up top are a bit rotten. It's easier to dig up there, but the bottom is better over the creek for the quality of crystals. Dont keep the pancake looking ones lol good luck!

Nice video, they look like a fun couple to dig with.while watching I had a thought, in the field these look like they would cut reasonably with a battery Dremmel tool with a diamond cutting disc & spray bottle to cut a plane of weakness so that you get a more controlled break. Do you think this would work. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
If you really want to be precise you can use water displacement to measure total volume of each of your hauls. Fill up a bucket or container with water, use a ruler to measure the height of the water level, then throw in all your geodes and measure the height of the water level again. Whosever water level rises the highest wins. Of course you would have to reseal the ones you've already cracked before throwing them in the water for this to work accurately.

Man, I'm so jealous, I've wanted to go geode hunting/mining for the past few years. How do you know where to dig? I'm sure some states are better than others to look in, right?

Try a site called “mindat”, works best on pc

There is a place in my country that has amethyst geodes but you can’t take them from there, so you think you can find them in near areas?
