At the end of the day, Gay people are people, and they are also citizens of America. Therefore, they should be guaranteed the same rights that everyone else has. It's that simple...

How can you claim to have gay friends as often folk like Santorum do and then say you won't share the biggest most important day of their lives ?

Having friends does not mean that you agree with them. This is fundamental social intercourse. Do all of your friends agree with you? NO! Do you now hate your friend because the friend disagrees with you? NO! Friends enrich our lives with different view points. Our friends challenge us in each other's reality. Each individual has an inclusive reality. A true friend may challenge your reality. That is what friends are for. Your friends challenge you with new view points. Then it is your responsibility to either consider the view point or thrown it away. If you throw it away, are you still friends? I hop[e so.

funky goldfishys no it’s not the same that’s a race issue not a sexual issue. If your gay and I’m your friend I’m gonna go to support you emotionally. But if our mutual friend doesn’t it’s because it’s against his beliefs but he’s still happy for him. But that doesn’t mean we ain’t gonna chill or be best friends. It just means that I’m against that lifestyle so why would I go support it

It is their way of hiding their homophobia. It's the same as saying "I don't hate black people, I have a black friend".

@@chrism8311 LOL its a very old post - I am curious why folk are so obsesed by the gender of other peoples partners - to take that as far as wanting some couples to have less rights than others is just nasty

What is the majority of Americans? The majority is quiet. The majority (I am not speaking about conservatives) listens & reflects on their own personal position comes every voting cycle. They think, to some extent, am I being represented or am I being taken advantage of & is my tax dollars serving me or is my tax dollars serving some politician. The American voter is smarter than politicians think we are.

Why would you have to think about going to the wedding of a good friend? That being said, it's good news that some Republicans have tired of throwing gays under the bus to further their political careers.

    • @Attmay

Now everybody else is doing it, even Gay rights organizations. They threw us under the bus and ran us over repeatedly, sacrificing us at the altar of the TQ+ cult. These conservaphobic hate comments aged like milk while the arguments of Gay Republicans aged like fine wine

I have no problem with homosexuality, but gay marriage is abhorrent to me. It defies thousands of years of history, tradition, and doctrine. And for what? Tax exemptions? I could not fathom marrying the one man I ever loved. Certainly not for something so petty.

Americans are greedy and sympathetic. That's why this issue exists in the first place. For money. Even a blind man can see that gay marriage is against not only against the law, but against science.

DEVILS CHILD You are quite mistaken, I very much disapprove of cheating and adultery. If you are not going to stick with one person, or group of persons, then don't bother making an attempt at a romantic/sexual relationship at all.
