Man I never have owned a Honda and probably never will (biiiiiig v-dub guy) but I watch every vid I can. Love the way you radiate positivity! Keep er goin John!
Beehive lma's offer more stability at higher rpms, could make it slightly quieter on start up but thats about it. Also its very important to not forget that little o ring in the center, you will not have vtec working otherwise. Its also alot easier to set your valve lash with the head off the block! Its a good idea to check them while everything is apart
I have a slight ticking noise from the valve lifters on my K20A6 Accord, do you think this could possibly fix it? It's not super noticeable right now, but I'd still like to keep an eye on it. You can't hear it from inside the car at all, but if you stand next to the car you can definitely hear it when the engine idles.
I got the two pins at 2:56 confused, one has some type of oil feed hole on the side that is differently sized to the other and I don't know which goes where. Someone please help!
The Skunk2 upgrade LMA are a bit taller than stock, advertised as used with high lift cams. Since these springs are only applying pressure when VTEC is not engaged, is there any issue using the taller springs with stock cams? They're only there to apply pressure to loose rockers...should be fine, no? Thanks!
The trick to keeping the rocker arms together is to put a rubber band around each set of 3 before pulling the shaft out. I replaced my GSR’s original hydraulic LMA’s with the spring type ones from Science of Speed back in 2013 when I changed my head gasket. I was having this weird tapping fluttering sound when shifting as the RPM dropped. With the new LMA’s all was quiet again. That old hydraulic design sucked. The spring version is similar to what was used in the Type R and also the H22 Prelude engines.
Just little info for anyone doing while motor still in car: no need to raise engine in EG/DelSol. Is v easy while still in car
Oh sweet! Thank you for the clarification!
I installed these on place of the stock LMAs on my b16 when I built my motor last year and sounds so much better.

Do u know the part number for those O-rings?
Hi, the OEM LMA's have also an hole. My be you can also put them out by an picker?
i'm now wondering couldnt you just pull the stock LMA's the same way you pulled the skunk2 ones just using pliers? same as on 7:40
They don’t fit since they have a split metal casing around them.
Need a b16 Vtec head with cams for my b20b

I don’t see why not. I’m no expert though.
@boosted_john upon closer inspection...Skunk2 states these can be used with all camshaft. Nice, great vid!
