Damn, yesterday I wrote a comment on this video.. but it doesn't seem to be here anymore. I don't know why. Anyways, I'll try to recreate it haha. I bet the views around in that beautiful landscape would've been so majestic in bright weather! I mean looking out from the outposts (trigs) WOW! But the wind... oh my the wind, could you estimate how much it was at? I've experienced some wind but that looked so wild. Too bad the streams isn't too safe to drink :( Clever bringing water on your hikes, I alwas seem to forget that. I do remember my coffee though haha. Another great one Chris! Keep safe :D
They are certainly beautiful in good weather, Martin. I'm not sure how bad the wind was. It was enough to knock me over at least once, and I was using trekking poles, too. But I didn't give up, and that is the success. No matter what the mountain threw at me, I still went on when others turned back. Foolish, perhaps, but I felt a feeling of accomplishment. There are still some mountains around there that I need to conquer, so I will be back. Thank you, Martin, not only for your continued support, but for your friendship also.
Hi friend!! A great imaginary hiking trip! I'm sorry that the weather didn't cooperate, but a nice experience despite the poor visibility, horizontal rain and stormy wind.😊
It made for an interesting hike that is for certain. I didn't let it dampen my enjoyment. Thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
Wow, Chris, that sounded windy! What a hike. Despite the conditions, you were on a beautiful spot. Thanks for having the jelly legs while I sit here and watch like a slob...lol...
Dan, this is the worst ever wind I've hiked in. I have never hiked in Gale force winds on a mountain before. An experience I won't forget any time soon. Mountain weather is so changeable.
That was super fun Chris. It's like being in a skydive on top if you lean forward. There's one thing to be said for a day like this and that is you're buzzing when you get back down although you said you couldn't keep your eyes open. Fantastic. Mark
Hi Mark. It was certainly one to remember. That wind was so tiring, too, having to lean into it all the time. I'm glad I didn't bail. Definitely one to remember. Thank you as always for your support, Mark. I really appreciate it.
Well done on the subs Chris! Thats a very wet looking Wales! Nice hair cut! Nice trig bag. Some cracking 360° there! That wind picking up too. Sun trying to come out? Classic UK summer weather! Great Pen Y Fan face! You got a glimpse of a view there, very nice. Worth it for those views at the end. Hope you have dried off! 👍
I've never been on a mountain in gale force winds before. It was certainly an experience. I couldn't film the scramble up as I needed both hands. It was certainly a memorable hike. Thank you as always for your support. I really appreciate it.

@CanadasNature I've never experienced gale force winds on a mountain in the summer before. It was certainly an experience I won't forget any time soon. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. 8 minutes in "my god" holy crumpets chris ... You conducted a proper operation on this one. One to remember for sure That cramp at the end says it all . Happiest man in the world
It was really bad up there, Owen. But by the time you are up there, it's too late. I really enjoyed it. Definitely one to remember. Thanks for your continued support, Owen.
Morning Chris 😊 stormy weather and strong winds sure do make hiking harder. Shame you missed out on some of those views. Waterproofing only does so much in weather like that I find. Congrats again with the recent subs 😁
Thank you, Yasmin. Yes, even the waterproofs fail in weather this bad. It was certainly a hike to remember. I'll catch the views next time. Thank you as always for your support, Yasmin. I really do appreciate it.
That was great Chris. I love how you were just laughing about it the whole way 🙈😂😂 I went earlier this year in similar condition. I was putting the water out of my shoes, wringing my socks and trousers and the wind was almost blowing me over the edge to the point I was about 20’ from the edge and no closer 😬👍
@PhilipOlsen11 it certainly was the worst wind I've ever hiked in. Coming up the scramble to Corn Du, there was a man and woman just hugging the rock as it was trying to blow them off. I thought this wind isn't going to abate, so I went around them. They followed me up. I'm glad I didn't give up, but next time, I'll miss out on the Roman Road. That really did a number on my feet. You have to just laugh at it and make the best of a bad situation. Thank you as always for your continued support, Phil.
Xin chào Chris and Congratulations mate, Vietnam, eh? Where my channel is currently recording 😀. Wow the wind there at that Trigg. Hate to say wont be long before your climbing around in the ice and snow. Wow again at your 360.. That wind is shocking mate. In Ireland we used to drink the water from them streams. Great walk, look hard to get around, great effort mate.
It was a hard but enjoyable hike. I've hiked it in perfect weather, zero visibility and rain, and next will definitely be snow. Thank you again for all your support.
Hello Chris, wow the weather wasn’t good for you was it. Blimey blowing a gale and all that rain. You managed the trig. Very well done in all that bad weather. Great video Chris. Take care x Julie and Tony x
Sorry for the late reply. We've just been on a last-minute cruise. It was windy and wet, but I still enjoyed it. Thank you as always for your continued support.
Congratulations Chris on all your new subscribers and speaking in new language. That's a real boost for you. I can't even pronounce the welsh locations mentioned in your titles above! So much for summer weather so far. But well done getting to the top anyway in that gale. You looked like you enjoyed the experience. Don't think I would have survived but stunning landscapes !!🤭
It was definitely a hard slog, and my legs were like jelly by the end of it. Once the cloud cleared a bit, the views were amazing. But yes, very windy all the way around. Thank you, as always, Shanita, for your support.
Thank you. I finally got to the bottom of it. And no, I didn't pay a dodgy site for the SEO thing. I had been featured by one Vietnamese lady on another ladies' Vietnamese livestream. It turned out it was all from her loyal followers who featured my channel. I was really grateful as I had been hovering just sub 800 for months. I never expected it, but I'm grateful for their support, as I am yours. It is a pity they aren't watching, just subscribing. But I hope this in some way will trick the algorithm to favour me. Thank you again for your continued support, Tim & Sandy. I really do appreciate it.
Loved that Chris ...Looked a tough one...we did exact the same route last year...with trembling legs we missed out Fan y Big too...loved the vietnamese accent...cant believe your sub count...gone through the roof...keep em coming
I know, neither can I. I was messaged, saying I had been promoted by one channel who encouraged their subscribers to come to the channel. I had been sub 800 for months. They haven't contacted me, don't want anything, so I thought it only right I thanked them. The wind up there was worse than Margery, and that was bad. One to remember, that's for sure. I still need to tick off Cribyn and Fan Y Big.
Welcome to Wales😂 Oh boy that was bad. You kept going with a smile on your face. The stopped and the rain hit you😂 You can't explain to someone that hasn't been on the mountains how difficult it is physically and mentally in the wind and rain. The wind was trying to knock you down or push you back, but you kept going. You did well on such a difficult day. You can look back and laugh at your video with a warm cuppa and slippers now. You put in a good shift up there. Well done💪💪👏👏 Very entertaining to watch😁👍 Loved it👋
I had my MREs with me and everything. I had planned to eat them with a beautiful view. The mountain can be a cruel master. On the approach to Corn Du, I passed a couple of people clinging to the rocks for dear life. I said, morning, and hiked past, scrambling up the last bit. They must have thought, nutter, but I saw them later, so they made it. They got as far as Jacob's Ladder and turned back. By the time you were off Jacob's Ladder, the worst was over, plus it was longer to go back than to carry on. This was a hike I won't forget any time soon, Jamie. But I loved it. Thank you, as always, for your support.
Yes Chris, Welcome to the British Summer. You need a pair of Windscreen Wipers for the glasses. 1.62K subscribers "😃Wow" beats my 132. Mate I love walking in real bad weather.
@oldbaldmansadventures it doesn't seem 2 minutes when my channel was just me reflecting on my hikes, for posterity. I just hope that the subs turn into watch time. I'm normally drenched either soaked to the bone or knee deep in a bog. Thank you for your continued support. I really do appreciate it.
Happy Sunday Chris OMGoodness nealy 10 mile-trek? I am exhausted from yesterday's 3mile-hike haha rocks, roots and elevation gain. cramps and cramps. Wow wow, what are you getting into yourself?? As knowing the weather is not your side, you head for your ambitious plan. I take my hat off. This is not about just hike, but showcases your determination and passion for your hike Send my standing ovation, Chris 7:33 Hope you enjoy my waterfalls, Graveyard Fall
Hi Chris thats so good about the new subs, not sure how many you had before but it sounds like you've grown massively, well done 👏 Gorgeous Pen Y Fan but whoh what weather you had, so good that you carried on though in such bad weather ! You had some nice views in parts but its awful walking when you are drenched and it can be dangerous too. Try it again in good weather 😃🏴 ~ Anna 👍
@FXWalesAnnaAlf the mountain definitely threw everything except snow at me. I was just below 800 subs, and a lady informed me that I had been highlighted by a Vietnamese channel. It blew up overnight. I am still way down on my watch hours, so subs isn't transferring to that, it seems. I shall definitely be back up Pen Y Fan. It certainly is beautiful in good weather. Thank you, as always, for your support, Anna.
That was a tough one Chris , horrendous weather (don’t you look at forecasts before you plan 😂). Well done, got to go, got my Vietnamese lessons in half hour 😂😂
Just a little bit windy Chris.... Now you know what it's like to be in a vax machine! Reminded me of when i bailed from a Pen Y Fan summit camp in one of my videos. Persistence paid off though buddy.... You did it and you got the views in the end. Well done ! Cheers Mark👍
🥳🪨🪨🪨congrats again, chris, to you and your windy face! way to celebrate the k (and growing) with a nice, easy hike with stunning, clear 360 views. 👀😂 i do like the foggy look though, just probably not the mood or severe weather you were looking for for this one. i can't believe there were others out there. glad the views showed up and you made it back safely. hope you're recovered! best to you and amanda. 🛴❤
I couldn't believe there were others up there too. I've never hiked in gale force winds before Anne. It was certainly an experience. I'm still aching two days later. It was a struggle to keep vertical.
Hi Chris is has been a while and we wanted to catch up on your adventures 😊 looks like you had some beautiful clear English weather 😂 glad you bagged the trig! Great video 😊 we will catch up on all of yours today
Horizontal freezing rain and fog in midsummer. It's definitely a Great British summer. But looking back on it, I did enjoy it. Thank you as always for your support. I really appreciate it.
My first time up Pen Y Fan had beautiful weather and glorious views, I've never hiked in winds like that before. Wales certainly has changeable weather.
HI Chris. I didn't recognise you there after having your ears lowered! Haha Nice to see your back to your usual weather. It didn't seem right, you in bright in sunshine. All the best mate, enjoy the rest of your week.
It certainly was my usual hiking weather. The good thing about that was it kept the day trippers away. I've never hiked in gale force winds Dave. Certainly not one to forget any time soon. Have a great week, and thank you for the continued support.
Wonderful landscapes, places nature, hike, even if it was bad weather. Thank you for video sharing. Liked 👍 I subscribed to your wonderful channel (hope you too), new friend here, 🙂
Thank you so much for watching, commenting, and subscribing. I really do appreciate it. I used to get out weekly, but sadly, it will probably be once a month now. I really enjoyed this hike. It seems to rain every time I go out. Thank you again.
Bravo Chris for even getting out of the car (I bet the demon 😈 where hopping you would stay ) But fair play just shows how the Brecon Beacons can be when in a mood 😡🏴🏔️ Way to go mate 👌🏻 ATB Simon 🤠 (As a wearer of glasses myself these conditions really make it hard to gauge your footing with all the moisture on the lens) Great job 🙌
Thanks, Simon. I definitely need wipers inside and out the glasses in this weather. It took over a 5 hour round trip, so it wasn't beating me. I was wet but happy. Thank you as always for your support.
I trust you are fully recovered and at peak fitness again. I know it has been a long time since your fall, but I know how long it takes to build the body back up again.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling yes back at it now thanks Chris! but the shoulder especially took a good 7 months to be able to trust it again! And the confidence and ego takes a knock too ! That takes time as well . New film tomorrow filmed 6weeks after the fall going live tomorrow 🤠👍 best wishes mate 🙏🏼
@SetForAdventures I get it with the confidence. You can end up second-guessing yourself and getting into trouble that way. It's great news that a video is dropping. I really look forward to your video, top-notch. I'll keep an eye out for it. I may be 24hrs late, though, as I'm in the Brecon Beacons again tomorrow, and I know I'll be shattered when I get back. I want to do it justice if that makes sense. I normally watch them twice as I seem to miss bits the first time around. Perhaps it's my age 😂. But you get more watch time, so win, win.
Awesome sharing, really enjoyed watching 🖤🤍💯 Super like & thumbs up 😍👍💕💕💕💕💕💕💕 See you again, keep intouch 💛🤗🙋💛💚💙💜 Greetings from Istanbul Turkey 🇹🇷💛🤗🙋🧡💛121
The beard looks good mate! Great bit of Vietnamese there 🇻🇳 I see the UK summer is in full swing then 😅 crikey those are some grim conditions. Nice to see you remaining chipper throughout. What the hell is going on at 8:52 😂 at least you got some views while you were up there! Ohh man now rain! That was hardcore! Somebody was punishing you for saying 'this is England' 😉 wow if you were cramping up before the drive I dread to think how it felt getting out of the car 😂 very entertaining episode Chris, thanks for putting yourself through it for our entertainment 😅
@no_soy_rubio 8:52 was Corn Du. It wasn't as windy as Pen Y Fan. It was madness up there. I passed a man and woman on the way up who had overtaken me on the flat but were clinging to the rocks, hoping for a lull in the wind. They didn't know which way to go and followed me up. I've only been twice, and it was chalk and cheese. There were a lot of mad people in shorts too. It's not a hike that I will forget any time soon. Yes, the cramp just washed over me. It was like my left foot was trying to curl. I'll be going again because I missed out Cribyn and Fan Y Big. It's a beautiful area in the right conditions. It certainly wasn't a good summer this year. I think we had two weeks of it.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling yes I remember being there around March sort of time a couple of years ago and the conditions were nice. I camped out for two nights and there wasn't a drop of rain if I remember rightly! Certainly is a lovely area
Ya done good for a little bit of practice. Your vietnamese brother from another mother in Oklahoma. You ever get the bug to come out, I'll take you to hike the Wichita Wildlife Refuge. I'll make sure you and the missus see some bison, deer, beefalo and we even have elk! Come in the spring and we'll eat rattlesnake (tastes like chicken)
What a pity to go to a beautiful place and then see little of it other than the ground in front of you. I've had many a day like that in the past, and still enjoyed the walk, but, especially if you have travelled a long way, it's a disappointment not to see the scenery.
It was definitely a challenge, Michael. The last time I was up there, the views were amazing. The mountain weather can change so quickly, as you know. I was scrambling up Corn Du, and a man and woman were holding on to the rocks for dear life over the drop off. I had my treking poles and passed them saying 'morning, lovely weather', and they looked at me like I was mad. I then promptly fell over 😂. But I got up and carried on. The winds were not going to abate, so they must have been spurred on by my madness as I saw them on the Peak 20 minutes later. Sometimes, you just have to plough on. The wind was the worst I've ever hiked in, and there were people in shorts, too! That's madness. But hopefully, I'm out there tomorrow as I want to tick off Cribyn and Fan Y Big, too. There are a lot of steep inclines in this one, so it will be a hard slog, but it is worth it if the weather holds out. Thank you, as always, Michael, for your continued support. I really do appreciate that with all the channels out there to choose from, you take the time to watch mine. Thank you so much, and I hope you are both having a great weekend.
I have hiked in some bad weather, but nothing like Pen Y Fan in a gale, with horizontal rain and poor visibility. But I did it, even if I had to cut Fan Y Big off the route. This was a hike I won't forget in a while. My legs are still aching. I hope you enjoy my pain. 😂

Well done Chris. It’s all so familiar I can almost smell it. 😎👍
It is a beautiful place, Martyn. I'm definitely going up again and hitting it from different sides. But tgis one was rough.
Nice one Chris 👍
It certainly was an interesting hike. One I won't forget in a while. I still enjoyed it, though.
Beautiful my dear friend ❤
Thank you for taking the time to watch my channel. I really appreciate it.
That was great Chris.
I love how you were just laughing about it the whole way 🙈😂😂
I went earlier this year in similar condition.
Chris I’m away but will watch it as soon as I get a good WiFi connection 👍
Thanks Phil, this was a tough one, but I did it. I've hiked in wind before but not gale force wind like this. I hope you enjoy it.
Really interesting video 😍🤗 love it👍
New sub here 🙋🏻♀️💐
Thank you for watching, commenting, and subscribing. I really appreciate it.
Fair play to you Chris on that challenge and congratulations on your growing channel 👍
Thank you so much. Yes, it was a hard one. It's the worst weather I've experienced on a hike.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling I could see that wasn't an easy task and filming to Chris .
It kept trying to blow the camera out if my hands.
Congratulations on your recent channel growth Chris 😊that’s some gnarly weather but it was a beautiful hike nonetheless 🤩
It certainly was a beautiful summer hike. Typical British weather. But I still enjoyed it, which is the main thing.
Welcome to Wales😂
Oh boy that was bad.
You kept going with a smile on your face.
The stopped and the rain hit you😂
You can't explain to someone that hasn't been on the mountains how difficult it is physically and mentally in the wind and rain.
The wind was trying to knock you down or push you back, but you kept going.
You did well on such a difficult day.
You can look back and laugh at your video with a warm cuppa and slippers now.
You put in a good shift up there.
Well done💪💪👏👏
Very entertaining to watch😁👍
Loved it👋
I had my MREs with me and everything.
Very nice 👌🏻 ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. Have a great week.
Happy Sunday Chris
OMGoodness nealy 10 mile-trek? I am exhausted from yesterday's 3mile-hike haha rocks, roots and elevation gain. cramps and cramps.
Wow wow, what are you getting into yourself??
As knowing the weather is not your side, you head for your ambitious plan. I take my hat off.
This is not about just hike, but showcases your determination and passion for your hike
Send my standing ovation, Chris 7:33 Hope you enjoy my waterfalls, Graveyard Fall
@@ms.kayak7seas thank you so much for your continued support. I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
Hi Chris thats so good about the new subs, not sure how many you had before but it sounds like you've grown massively, well done 👏
Gorgeous Pen Y Fan but whoh what weather you had, so good that you carried on though in such bad weather !
Ah thats great that you doubled overnight 😃👏and great that you'll go back to Pen Y Fan. Have a great weekend :)@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling
Congratulations on the channel explosion🥳🎉🎊
Quite the wind up there, lol🌧🌧☔
It certainly was Age, and thank you.
@agesadventures this was the worst wind I have ever hiked it. I didn't film the scramble up. It was dangerous as it was. Amazing experience, though.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling good to be safe rather than risk injuring yourself or worse!
Just watching now

Thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
That was a tough one Chris , horrendous weather (don’t you look at forecasts before you plan 😂). Well done, got to go, got my Vietnamese lessons in half hour 😂😂
I always checked the weather forecast. 60f and sunny was the forecast 😂. I think they got it wrong.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandramblingyea ive been caught out in the past, mountain weather is changable.
Thanks Mark. This was a hard one for me.
Great hiking tour 💪 but not really funny 😅 the weather was not so good ☹ but interestIng views 👍 thanks for sharing and greetings from Leroy 🐶🍀😎
It was certainly an interesting hike. Thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling you are very welcome 🙏
Ahhh i actually wanted to walk this trail a few months ago but the weather didnt agree!
My first time up Pen Y Fan had beautiful weather and glorious views, I've never hiked in winds like that before. Wales certainly has changeable weather.
HI Chris. I didn't recognise you there after having your ears lowered! Haha
Nice to see your back to your usual weather.

@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling You're welcome my friend 😉
Bravo Chris for even getting out of the car (I bet the demon 😈 where hopping you would stay )
But fair play just shows how the Brecon Beacons can be when in a mood 😡🏴🏔️
Way to go mate 👌🏻
ATB Simon 🤠
(As a wearer of glasses myself these conditions really make it hard to gauge your footing with all the moisture on the lens)
Great job 🙌
Thanks, Simon. I definitely need wipers inside and out the glasses in this weather. It took over a 5 hour round trip, so it wasn't beating me. I was wet but happy. Thank you as always for your support.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling I’ll take a pair of wipers too mate 👍🤠
Awesome sharing, really enjoyed watching 🖤🤍💯
Super like & thumbs up 😍👍💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
See you again, keep intouch 💛🤗🙋💛💚💙💜

@no_soy_rubio The last time I was up there, it was perfect, too. The weather forecast said it was dry this time. I think they got it wrong.
Hey, I am your new friend
@RbnWebSolutions Thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. Have a great week ahead.
Yay!!! Thank you so, so much for watching, brother. And you better watch it, I'll take you up on that x
