Cruising isn't for everyone, but we do enjoy it every now and then. We prefer the smaller ships with 3000 rather than Iona with 5000 people on board. Thank you. We are resting up. I was quite unwell on the cruise. Let's just say, everything, went straight through me. I found out after I got back that a side effect of a gut prebiotic/probiotic was the problem. So I had lost weight rather than gained it. Then, being riddling with arthritis, I have a thing called 'dry eye syndrome'. But when you are at a physical low, I am at risk of keratitis. Which I have now. So I will get there, slowly but surely. Just to make sure it was definitely the prebiotic/probiotic, I am reintroducing my vitamin and minerals bit by bit, so I know for certain it was that one. But at the moment I'm photophobic, too, in that eye. It hurts my eyes even to drive. But I've been here before and know I will get better. Thank you for checking in on me, Owen. I really appreciate it. It means a lot.

I know, it always rains when I'm out anywhere. Now the Insta crowd are tucked up for winter I'll be out again on the hills soon, and I will get wet. Even if it's dry, I'll always sink my feet into a random bog and get soaked. It's just my luck.

I've had a breakthrough Owen. They terminated my contract. I was only agency but it was sleep, work, repeat. As you can tell by my lack of uploads it's had an effect on me. Constantly wiped out. I've neglected everything. I'm really glad they did. I'm going to use this week to decompress and then back on the hills next week. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there. I was angry at first then sat back and thought, this is the best thing that could have happened to me. I'm coming on 63 and it's time to live life and not sit and watch the money pile. I wasn't spending anything anyway as I was too knackered. Thank you so much for reaching out. It means a lot to me. Next week is the start of a new me. I just wish it had been warmer but that won't stop me. Life is for living and I'm going to live it.
I hope you end up with covid/D&V or the cruise cough. I really enjoyed it, though, even with missing the first port. They did a good job keeping ahead of Kirk. I hope you enjoyed it too.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling was aware their was sickness onboard but not what it was as we asked staff and they wouldn’t tell us apart from it’s how we clean anyway but knew it wasn’t standard cleaning and obviously sickness onboard and the next night after asking staff we was in the horizons buffet at night and staff started talking to an elderly couple and young girl in the restaurant saying you can’t be in here we’ve told you to stay in your cabin can you please go straight back you’re not to come out and a top guy in white with epaulettes then came in and escorted them out and they cordoned off the area they was sat and started deep cleaning it and wouldn’t let anyone sit near or in that area only thing I got was sore throat and so did my dad
My in-laws were talking to someone whose partner had covid, but she wasn't restricted to cabin as she wasn't positive. How the times have changed. We saw a guy with a backpack mist machine who was spraying everywhere. Up in the air too. But if you put 5000 passengers and then crew together, you will end up with something anyway. We still enjoyed ourselves.

@scootladychicago just about recovered. You need a holiday to recover from the holiday. There was a silent disco onboard, but we never went. We had a proper sit down and be served a meal three times. The rest of the time, we went for the self-serve option. We both like putting a lot of random things on the plate to taste the range of food. Amanda is definitely a pudding (dessert) person. Each meal she had a selection. They come on small plates. Yes, it really did stir it up a bit. We certainly wouldn't be paying for the same cruise at 7k per person. Lisbon certainly is a nice city. Didn't know they had pandas there though! Love those museums in Valencia. I could quite happily live there. £80 just to he dropped off? Or did they get a tour included with that? 33°, nice! I'm glad you didn't get your phone nicked on the Ramblas Chris, it's notorious for that! Cádiz is one of my favourite Spanish cities, perfect for a day trip! The £80 was just to be dropped off. We met a couple who paid. I think it was, €3 round trip from our drop-off point to get to the old town. The ship never charged us the shuttle bus fare in the end, either. So we got that for free. £80 is daylight robbery for a self guided tour. It certainly was the reset we needed, Matt. Hey Chris 😊 you got this up quick you haven’t been back long have you? Looks a brilliant holiday. Liked those views as you pulled away and the rain came in quick. Loved the views of the bridge in the mist my weather and all the lights on land. That was so nice 😊 lovely tour around the towns too. Did look a great trip and that’s what holidays should be all about mental reset and having fun 😁😁

That's a long upload! I have superfast Internet now so mine are usually only a few minutes to upload. It's nice to have that speed.
It would be great to have. I also pay for 5G, and there isn't any near us. The main cities have it, but us out in the sticks are left with 4G.

Hi Chris huge apologies this almost slipped by us! This looked a great trip you have a nice room with balcony too! Nice tour around the town, ‘Who knows it’s art’ 😂 shopping and eating therapy to reset you can’t beat it! That bridge approach is pretty with the twinkling lights that does sound eery! Lisbon looks lovely love the coloured buildings and old trams wow the architecture is amazing and the bridge in the distance what a gorgeous square! Whoops did you drop the camera 😂 Well done on going for the shuttle us and walk option instead of £80 coach trip! Sorry you were muggy in your jeans 😂 £7000pp for two weeks that is affluent 😮 Enjoyed this sorry again for being late to the game! Have a great week catch you on the flip side 👍

I've had a breakthrough Owen. They terminated my contract. I was only agency but it was sleep, work, repeat. As you can tell by my lack of uploads it's had an effect on me. Constantly wiped out. I've neglected everything. I'm really glad they did. I'm going to use this week to decompress and then back on the hills next week. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there. I was angry at first then sat back and thought, this is the best thing that could have happened to me. I'm coming on 63 and it's time to live life and not sit and watch the money pile. I wasn't spending anything anyway as I was too knackered. Thank you so much for reaching out. It means a lot to me. Next week is the start of a new me. I just wish it had been warmer but that won't stop me. Life is for living and I'm going to live it.

I was onboard this cruise too 5th October 24 to 19th October 24
I hope you end up with covid/D&V or the cruise cough. I really enjoyed it, though, even with missing the first port. They did a good job keeping ahead of Kirk. I hope you enjoyed it too.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling was aware their was sickness onboard but not what it was as we asked staff and they wouldn’t tell us apart from it’s how we clean anyway but knew it wasn’t standard cleaning and obviously sickness onboard and the next night after asking staff we was in the horizons buffet at night and staff started talking to an elderly couple and young girl in the restaurant saying you can’t be in here we’ve told you to stay in your cabin can you please go straight back you’re not to come out and a top guy in white with epaulettes then came in and escorted them out and they cordoned off the area they was sat and started deep cleaning it and wouldn’t let anyone sit near or in that area only thing I got was sore throat and so did my dad
My in-laws were talking to someone whose partner had covid, but she wasn't restricted to cabin as she wasn't positive. How the times have changed. We saw a guy with a backpack mist machine who was spraying everywhere. Up in the air too. But if you put 5000 passengers and then crew together, you will end up with something anyway. We still enjoyed ourselves.
hi chris's face! and you shaved. 😉 just had some lunch and am ready to cruise! amanda does have lovely long hair. the ocean is so blue. sorry you had to skip a port. i like oysters. little lemon, little hot sauce. yum! ooh the foggy bridge was so neat. i'm glad the nice weather turned up for lisbon. so much gorgeous architecture. gibraltar looked cool. but then it sure got hot for you, eh? watching the big white cruise boat, i couldn't help but stare at the sand it stirred up while passing so, what was your favorite meal on the trip? amanda's? did this one have a silent disco? have you ever gone to one on a cruise. my sis-in-law and her husband love them. your smile was so big through this whole thing. makes me happy to see you this happy. i'm sorry you got sick. hope you're all recovered! 🛴❤
@scootladychicago just about recovered. You need a holiday to recover from the holiday. There was a silent disco onboard, but we never went. We had a proper sit down and be served a meal three times. The rest of the time, we went for the self-serve option. We both like putting a lot of random things on the plate to taste the range of food. Amanda is definitely a pudding (dessert) person. Each meal she had a selection. They come on small plates. Yes, it really did stir it up a bit. We certainly wouldn't be paying for the same cruise at 7k per person. It keeps the posh people apart from us plebians. Thank you as always for your support, Anne.
Looked like you were in your element here Chris! Vigo looks nice, I've never been. Apart from perhaps the questionable artwork. Very cool going under the bridge in Lisbon! Lisbon certainly is a nice city. Didn't know they had pandas there though! Love those museums in Valencia. I could quite happily live there. £80 just to he dropped off? Or did they get a tour included with that? 33°, nice! I'm glad you didn't get your phone nicked on the Ramblas Chris, it's notorious for that! Cádiz is one of my favourite Spanish cities, perfect for a day trip! Wow £7k for 2 weeks, that's how much I've had to live on for the last 6 months 😂 looked a great trip Chris and I hope it was the mental reset you required!
The £80 was just to be dropped off. We met a couple who paid. I think it was, €3 round trip from our drop-off point to get to the old town. The ship never charged us the shuttle bus fare in the end, either. So we got that for free. £80 is daylight robbery for a self guided tour. It certainly was the reset we needed, Matt.
