NOVA is gorgeous with low rates of crime in most areas. Roads are well-kept, lots of jobs available (especially in the tech and defense industries). But man is it expensive. Maybe not NY, SF, LA expensive, but still very high.

Loudoun county Va, a suburb of dc in Northern Virginia is the number 1 richest country in the US and has been for many years. Areas in Northern Virginia are number 2-6 richest counties in the US. I would say Northern Virginia is the quietest richest areas in the US and many don’t think that because they automatically think of NY or LA but we have the most mansions everywhere in Northern Virginia not just concentrated in one area and they are completely hidden, most gated in very well established trees you wouldn’t even know they are there unless you are from those areas because you only see apartments, townhomes and smaller homes on the main roads/streets the mansions everywhere are hidden! Northern Virginia is not verbose about it’s wealth it’s very political here and generational wealth run through it so people are “normal” and never flaunt what they have unlike LA or NY but they live very comfortably and very safe overall for a high price! Normal homes that are small that you would see as cheap depending on the area could be well over 1 million dollars! The land is where the value is and the home is just an added bonus.

Ouch that hurts. I got a new SUV this year and I'm not looking forward to my tax bill this year. It will be my biggest on yet.

@@LivinginNorthernVirginia Mine was a 2020 Toyota Sequoia... $65 grand. The taxes were almost half of my houseowner tax (you dont actually own the land).

I also just say I'm from the DC metro area or live 30 miles south of DC.
One thing they don't mention is the weird liquor laws in VA. You have to go to DC to buy spirits at places other than state affiliated liquor stores.

The vehicle inspection thing is a GREAT thing, and the rest of the modern world already do this to make the roads safer.

The car safety inspection is for all cars? Leased or owned.

It is for all cars. However when I had a leased car the dealership would do it at no charge during my yearly maintenance.
