Excellent summary of both states. I grew up in MD and still love it. I crossed the river and now live in northern VA. It is also very nice. In general, VA real estate is higher in price for the exact same house in MD, but there are exceptions. Both states have excellent schools, but VA has more public universities.

Ooh as someone who lived in both places, thank you for your comment!! I have lived in MD and been in DC for 20 years now. I haven't lived in VA, but I would!

Lol, I can tell you’re from the DMV, “Don’t come for me”. Very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you for representing us. I’m born and raised in DC but purchased my homes in Maryland. I’m retired now and thinking of moving to Richmond, Virginia near my grandchildren in Norfolk, Va.

Having lived in NOVA but explored in depth in MD, I can safely say MD is superior. I love so many of the sleepy and cozy cities there! Frederick is especially beautiful, and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the country. The little towns scattered about the state are also so pleasant, like Easton, Cambridge, or Cumberland! MD > VA any day

Pretty whimsical, and succinct in your summary. I am in nova now, and have lived in DC as well. Your left lean was pretty funny lol. Maryland legislature is heavily democrat vs Virginia’s that is Republican controlled.

Maryland is a democrat state but we have a Republican governor. Maryland is more of a moderately liberal centre to centre-left state, if you visit New York or California you’ll see that Maryland isn’t as liberal as you think it is. Maryland is Texas compared to New York and California

    • @DCRealEstateMama
