- Heard the sad news about Richard Brunelle's passing, and wanted to make a quick recording of this amazing classic track from the album Blessed Are The Sick. I have listened to, reflected upon, and played this song countless times throughout the years, as I know have many many others. It's a simple but brilliant and emotional piece of music. RIP to a true innovator and legend of death metal.

Wow! I didn’t know he died. I’m glad I saved my email from him. I emailed him some years ago to tell him Desolate Ways (His only writing credit on that album) was the most beautiful guitar piece I have ever heard. I had to learn it immediately after hearing it. He actually emailed me back. He was a nice dude. So sorry to hear this. I’m behind. Great cover btw.

I remember spending a few hours listening to this and learning it when I was 17. It's a beautiful song, so haunting. It's very easy to play and I often find myself playing it to warm up when I pick up my acoustic guitar.

I got Blessed are the Sick when it came out, I was about 14 or 15. I used to listen to Desolate Ways none stop in my walk man, just play and rewind. I still listened to this day at 46 years old.
I been a death metal fan my entire life, I never knew that they released their albums in Alphabetical order, until a few years ago, a buddy pointed it out to me.

@@GordOlson sweet thats one of the guitats i was looking to buy. Where you playing it on a specific accoustic amp, and if so which one?
@@Yalbou No amp, it's plugged straight into my recording interface, through the guitar's onboard preamp. Just added some reverb to the recording and that's it. Great sounding guitar! The Mahogany version is very dark sounding, which I love. The AC3R version with Rosewood is quite a bit brighter. Something to keep in mind when choosing between the two.
