I did the math on the lands/shocks per box.... Box 1: $173.85 // Box 2: $116.71 // Box 3: $82.30 // Box 4 $77.18 // Box 5 $141.98 // Box 6 $191.43 // While there are a plethora of valuable cards pricing over the $5 mark, this is the main reason I would buy this set, the lands. The "Saw In Half" is $12.83/$19.05 for the foil/galaxy foil. Stellar pup maxes out at $10.70 for one variant galaxy foil. (prices as of 03/13/24)
the land and art in unfinity is amazing, worth for under $130 a collector box
Wallet fatigue, oversaturation, uselessness of most of the cards, take your pick
Don't forget releasing the same day as the WH40K decks. WotC was competing with themselves with that move and they lost.
@@Mirthful_Midori Yup, and the WH40k market all on its own is much larger than the Un fan base. Hell the crossover between the two is greater than the Un fans.

I definitely agree that the stickers was one of the dumbest things they could have done with this set but also making it black border was also a horrible idea.
Reprinting even UN cards that got any value also is a HUGE turn off for all Un sets.
Its hard for a set to gain value when half the set is illegal to play.

I drafted it multiple times and it was insanely fun. Getting shocklands was the cherry on top.
You can buy a copy of every near mint galaxy foil shockland in this set and it will add up to $100+ less than buying a case of the boxes

I like all of the "space" lands in this set. They indeed are gorgeous. Out of 6 boxes, only 16 galaxy foils were pulled... yikes.

MKM was very much an un-set. Examine it through that lens and it makes a lot of sense

I never touched this set because the pre-release event was the same day as the 'Warhammer 40k Commander launch party', and I decided to play 40k instead.
Such a fun set. If all my friends didn't quit magic I'd totally love to draft this

Space Belern is under a dollar in galaxy foil
So many of the cards aren't legal in any formats people play. Buying this is too much of a gamble.
You'd be better off just buying the singles you want

This was a really fun set. It took me about a year but I eventually pulled a complete set with 2 galaxy shocks
Averaging two shock lands per box is really what destroyed this set while this set advertised shock lands as the reason to purchase the set.
I remember when they hit $115 a box & couldn’t sell them. Having a lot of useless singles in the set didn’t help either.
The game is ment to be played for fun people seem to forget that and look at it like it's stock investment

If you get the shocklands you can break even, but everything else is worthless besides Saw in half

The Stomping is listed at $40 on TCG with a market price of $63+. The Watery Grave is $91/$85+. My bad the Watery Grave price I said is for the Galaxy. The regular full arts are $15+ with the foil versions being $30+ depending on the land. The galaxy basic lands are indeed $5-8+ depending. Saw in Half is $15+.
I had fun during the release event with it, and still pick up some of the lands for it....but that's about it.
Unstable packs. 1 land and 1/60ish packs to get a foil. The lands were the same price as buying a pack here so there was no reason to buy a land over a pack. These, sure the lands are also really nice but if everything is foil nothing is foil. Ima bet the next step taking to make us think there are special cards you want will be some kid of metallic card finish foil
Some boxes have been ticking up but others have not recovered at all

The biggest thing for me is the lands are what draw me to it. The art is so good and just makes me think that WOTC should just move to printing all full art basics
Three ideas to sell future UN sets: 1)Bring in a killer IP. 2)Do another 1 of 1 chase card. 3)Lower the price to reflect value (don’t count on this one).

A bunch of the cards are pretty incredible but just blindly hated by people because the set had atickers in it. I think with the sci-fi set next year this set will have its lands spike.
I still have the original Richard Garfield card. It is not exactly the same as the reprint. Must have lost the original print.
The Galaxy shocklands are also my favorite. Every LGS I spoke to said they were lucky to pull 2 Galaxy Shocks per case. I was SHOCKED that you pulled Galaxy stomping grounds in that first box. I bought up a ton of the Galaxy planet full art lands at release also. The non-planet full art galaxies aren’t worth much at all (less than $1 in some cases). As far as the rest of the set, the stickers ruined it for me. Thanks for making this video.

So theyre using the old pokemon cosmos holo with the swirls and everything. Idk shit about magic but these look way better than most of the foils I've seen on magic sets.

Galaxy shocks not being guranteed at one per box feels like a mistake on the one hand, because it can make a seemingly good box a dud…it’s a pretty serious rip even if you get multiple non-Galaxy shocks and the other hits. On the other hand, if the Galaxy foil shocks were at least one per box guranteed, I doubt they’d be commanding the premium they do right now. 🤷♂️ It really depends on your luck with the spacic lands and shocks.
Boxes bottomed out around $110-115 right before Black Friday 2023. Now TCGPlayer has a few around $157, with a solo hiccup at $170 before the next price floor is $175-180…but if you’re willing to buy full cases of 6, you can get a bit more depth at the ~$145 price point. It does make me wish I’d picked a few up at the floor, I’m one of the crazy people who unironically loves the set, but gotta finish paying some things off before I can go splurging again.
For $160 i'd say yeah, Those boxes are too much, $120 for those boxes is pushing it.
Not every box is gonna give you big hits.
I did the math as posted in the comments, half of the boxes made a return on the $140 asking price... the other half were abysmal.

The galaxy lands are only like $2 not $5. It's a huge difference when it comes to the entire box.
The galaxy foil basics are $7+ each. Wherever you are buying them for $2; sign me up I’ll take them.

Glad I watch this video because I was considering buying a Collector box. I just opened an $80 draft box of unfinity. I found three shock-lands and one was foil. Granted no Galaxy foils. So those shocks paid for the box.

Stickers along with the whole playable, not playable, based on a too-subtle round-shaped foil marker are factors that ruined it for me. Why not just make it a goofy set with ALL the cards being playable? Or at least make it clearer which cards are playable and not playable. Just seems like a badly designed product to me that they had to shove a gimmick (shocklands) into it to get it to sell.

Unfinity was and still is my favorite. So cool to see those Collector Boxes are now going for $160 a pop. Not bad considering how expensive they were around release! Sad for investors though.
