Wow man! I love all the highlights put in with your explanation. They really help in seeing what the tactic does and is supposed to do. Its shown as working instead of just being theory. Reese you legend.
Absolute genius of a tactic! Love when tactics arent the usual 4-4-2, 4-3-3 and the other "usual" tactics. This has imagination. Well done and best of luck with the save! ;)
This is basically the Sir Alex 07-08 tactic he used that last year he had Ronaldo, but with shittier players. I would probably tweak this to 2 PF(A)s just to reduce the offside issues as you get better, but looks solid enough.
@@tumama7799 As I said, with worse players. If you have guys like Carrick Vidic and Ferdinand in your team, you don't tell them to bull rush people. You have the ball for more of the game, and when you don't you can trust them to win it back in the right areas. In the 3rd tier of Portuguese Football. You need to rely more on effort, and a lot less on skill.
What he doesn't tell you that your players need to fit into the system by familiarity training sessions like team work match tactics match practice "tactical I think " and also you need to fit your players in their preferred position / role / duty to maximize their tactical fluidity and play at their peak or you can I think wait for some time and change their natural position / role / duty and I think it works well with younger players below 25 rather than above . So basically you get the tactical idea from him but not copy paste just tweak it with respect to your players .
Developed a tactic incredibly similar to this in South Africa with Humam Tariq in the LW spot as a treq and an inverted wingback on attack behind him. It is unbelievably deadly.
I actually used a direct play tactic similar to yours (mainly with a bit more wing play i guess) while going up through the portuguese leagues with Oleiros. I managed to score 117 goals in my first year in the newly formed 3rd division and my striker had 50 goals in the leagues. It also works in the 1st leagues has i have scored 93 goals in 34 games in my first year there.
Currently using this tactic on FM21 with Chelsea. Warner has scored 18 goals so far in this system with Tammy playing as an advanced forward alongside him. I'm using Pulisic as the Left IF, Chilwell as the CWB on the left and Azpilicueta makes a great defensive RB behind Hudson-Odoi as the RW. Kante (BBM) and Mount (CM-A) are perfect for it as a CM partnership with Kovacic coming on after 60-70 mins and playing as an advanced playmaker or deep-lying playmaker to tighten things up. This system has made FM game engine more entertaining as normally I just have commentary on with goal highlights.
I have a goal difference of 55 (around 70 goals in 30 games) in French second division as a team that was supposed to fight for relegation with a 4-2-3-1 wide and 3-1-2-2-2 wide both gegenpress tikitaka, so I guess props to FM for making both short passing and long passing tactics viable for crushing the goal stats
Looking at your formation, i notice the left side of your field is open when you attack. I assume that is why you concede lots of goals? (just an assumption, CMIIW). To give it more defensive stability i think you can transition to a more stable 3-4-3 in offense by giving your left CB stay wider & your RB sit narrower. That way you can cover each side with at least 1 player while you attack, also allowing attacking players to come back in counters while your left CB covers up for Pinto overlapping. Just a thought and would be nice to know your opinion of it. Great content as always Z!
Scores alot, but defense is leaky. Like all other high scoring tactics this season. Tested out Danwulfes tactic from the fm base tactic test. And it also scores alot. Had two players score 30+ goals in 37 matches. However goalie also let in 2 goals per game. For me to see the ME seems really balanced this year. I do however think that finding a solid defensive, but less scoring tactic would overall do better right now.
Zealand help please, I struggle to unlock my Advanced playmaker when using a 4231. I tried restoring Ozil's grace but he ended up having very little key passes over the season and only 6 assists in the league
High Tempo + Direct is cracked. I used it in two saves, one with Barca where I went undefeated in the League and won everything else with Haaland scoring like 50 goals in the league. The other was with Hull City in League 1, where I got 90+ points and my 19 Year old striker KLP scored more goals than games, not sure how many exactly though.
Got back to back promoted with sides previewed as relegation candidate with just a basic 4-4-1-1 fluid counter attack, once in the championship, I was able to make the playoffs in my first season there, with a payroll of nearly 50 million pounds less than the other teams, but hit a really horrible form patch right at the end, and lost the semi final like 6-0 on aggregate. Decided to use the off-season to regroup and change things up, as I believed I had been found out. Kept the 4-4-1-1 cause my team was entirely built for that formation, and any change to the formation would have left me in a terrible position with squad players able to play their new roles. Changed to the route one, and am currently sitting top of the championship with 9 points in hand from 3rd, and on the lowest payroll, with 400-1 odds at winning the title. It’s currently the near end of November and the new tactic has had me with only 1 league loss, which only came about due to a game riddled with injuries, had like 6 guys either out or get hurt in the game.
man having good midfielders at arsenal is fucking difficult. Im an arsenal fan and even I can admit we only have 1 good midfielder and 3 decent ones, and ones a fucking rb ffs.
#GiveReeceaReeces And congrats Z, this might be the perfect replication of the 2015 Leicester tactic. Your IF is in the Mahrez role. 1 marauding FB, the only difference is you have 2 Vardys instead of 1. And I agree about GK distribution. They do not listen. Unless you're saying punt over top, they'll do what they want. Which is usually puny anyway.
I’m trying out this new formation with Plymouth Argyle (5th year in) and it’s not scoring me lots of goals but I’m keeping clean sheets which I really struggled with! Thank you!
This tactic is brilliant. For about 4 games in which I scored 15 goals. Then every team (including Liverpool) parks the bud against you. Your strikers stop scoring and if you come up against 3 at the back you may as well put your goalkeeper up front. I was so excited to have a direct tactic. Shame. I’m playing as Chelsea. I’ve been beaten by bottom of the table Newcastle who hasn’t won until they played me. And beaten by Villa and Sheffield Utd too. It works brilliantly for a very short time
Gave the force opposition outside a try for 2 games in my 4231. Conceded 3 headers and 2 penalties from players pushing on crosses. Switched straight back to balanced.
3-4-2-1 is the best tactic ever, try it. It’s amazing Took Liverpool to penalties. But I also had two disallowed goals. I’m a Championship team and I’m protected for relegation and so far I’m in 1st with no losses, for now
I actually have a variation of this with 3 centerbacks, a wingback, and a winger who's been insanely good on defense for my entire tenure (spent a lot of time developing him as a wingback once I noticed this). I will definitely look into changing my up-front to two aggressive forwards but... I sold my best guy last year and no luck replacing him yet 😅
Also my best player on the entire team is a central attacking midfielder who degrades significantly anywhere else on the pitch so I definitely get a lot of benefit keeping him just a step behind the forward spot
Weird, but why do i feel Man United have the exact players to play this tactic in real life. Industrious midfielders with work rate: Fred/Mctominay. Left inside forward: Rashford. Complete wing back / Defensive fullback: Alex Telles and AWB
You’ll need a player with consistent hidden attributes and fast players up in the wing, striker, and in the wing backs or full backs. your midfielders should possess a good physicality and passing.
I tried this but just the formation nothing else and it works like a charm, the directness I put it depending on the players passing ability with at least 13 and vision 10 and decisions 10
