Thanks JB! Yes indeed even if VW make an 8.5 CSS and it's faster it will have to go some to eclipse the desirability of the original especially as it works on the road so well but then an 8.5 with 2024 suspension and tyre technology could be pretty incredible.
Indeed the parade was fun but if I hadn't done the public roads bit I'd have left disappointed, probably Mk1 would have been best for the parade as it feels special at slow speeds (and it's not a car I'd like to drive hard around 'ring)

It's a pity as dynamically the newer cars are significantly better. if I had to choose between driving around a normal track in 7 Clubsport S or 8 Clubsport, I'd go for the latter just because it feels tighter

I like to live dangerously :) As you can see they seemed to do the job OK in the dry. Luckily I missed the rain that caused the 7 lead cars to crash out of the race a bit earlier in the day.
Hi,I noticed on your Audi S4 touring tyre test that your S4 digital dash display the petrol reserve light is on and your fuel gauge is showing over half full.I am having the same problem with my NZ new 8Y RS3 .Would you know what the problem is?Audi dealership unable to find the problem.Thanks.
Curious as I have never noticed that, can you give me some more detail such as where in the video and which warning light? At 7:18 I can see the gauge half full but no warning light, yes the fuel range is shown on a red background but that’s how it always it. It’s like that because in some virtual cockpit configurations there is no fuel ‘gauge’ as such so it’s to make it noticeable. When it runs low this changes to be more obvious which is the warning (can’t recall the exact detail but it does). HTH👍
@@volkswizard From new,my 8y rs3 only showed the red band when vehicle dropped to low fuel only.myAudi app,warnings and information status report flagged Fuel reserve warning light on.Audi dealership cleared fault,warning light came back on leaving dealership.
My wife Kate has been doing this for ages and she's getting quite good - the exterior shots add so much to the video I find, not always practical to get them but this time it had to be done :)
The Honda Civic Type R who claims the fastest lap around the Ring was cheating with high boost setting and different transmission. The GTI still faster.
I heard that rumour, not great. Even the standard car has tyres that are way too low profile for UK roads. When I drove the 2024 CTR I didn't think it felt that quick. It did set a pretty decent lap time around Bedford Autodrome at the hands over evo though but that circuit is not the 'ring. The CSS was built for the 'ring not fast circuits hence why the brakes are so small and light. Will VW take the record back for the GTI's 50th Anniversary in 2026?
The TCR road car was a tie in with VW’s TCR customer racing car programme. They canned that in 2019 as didn’t align with their EV future. So not sure anyone was up for sticking one in a road TCR in a museum. The racer is out as VW have started doing a few motorsport related projects once again and it’s good to see it as without that prototype racer there would not have been the street TCR

The most famous car drivers are all dead now. Its so sad. Colin Mcrae , Sabine and Ken Block. Its feels like the end of an era ?
