Dogs feet dont freeze to the floor like ours would do, they have sweat glands on their pads and secrete a type of anti freeze! Hot pavements will hurt your dogs feet but snow never will

Good tips, I rescued my dog as he ran onto a site in Norfolk I was on and the people he escaped from didnt want him so their loss my gain he's a cracking medium sized broken coated Lurcher... I've got the same dog bag i got it from a camping show in Peterborough years ago.

We are hoping to get away into Europe in October for a very lengthy trip. Our 6 year old Labradoodle will be coming with us in our Sprinter van conversion. She has been to France with us in 2017, albeit in a car. She kinda coped with the ferry, from Rosslare to Cherbourg, but we did spend a lot of time with her out of the kennel. We will be booking a campsite outside Cherbourg for the first night. This will give her a chance to have a good run around. BTW, your videos are excellent!!! Thank you so much for your valuable knowledge and experience 👍

Excellent sensible advice. I do everything you suggest but have 1 extra to add. 2 Cockers, we also use Equifleece, long leg coats. Keeps them dry and clean, excluding heads and feet. They mop up an awful lot of mud and are easy to wash and dry. Thanks.

In Australia many caravan parks provide on site pet boarding or have name of people close by who provide doggy day care…great service. You can get half day or full day service….

I am brand new to this and my motor home arrives in October so this is super relevant as I also have a young Springer who will be joining me on my travels. Would anybody consider Air Conditioning when plugged in?

Hi Kat, really enjoying the videos. Sorry to send this message after this video but I don’t have Facebook and thought if I commented on your video about travelling with dogs you might not see it. One of my dogs and my cat have Italian pet passports. But, since January 2021 your pet cannot have a rabies booster in England that can be recorded in the passport. Anything written before January 2021 is fine but from that date on the European passport cannot be added to in England. This means that my cat, whose booster needs doing on 12th February 2022 one month before we hope to travel, will have to have a health certificate. My understanding is that to get her Italian passport up to speed we would have to start again with the rabies vaccines. I think my vet is currently charging around £156 per pet for health certificates. I didn’t want you to fall foul of this with Mac’s passport as he now has a French one. xx

Hi Marilyn. That's an excellent and very important point! Yes, all Mac's boosters/ injections etc needed for his passport need to be done in France. If you have an Italian passport you'd need to take your pet to Italy to get them done in order to maintain the passport. Luckily, we spend a lot of time in France so it's straightforward for us but thanks for bringing it up.

Great video Kat. Back of Beyond campsite near Ringwood has a fantastic dog area, about 10acres of woodland, our springer goes bonkers in the woods, to be honest though she’s bonkers anyway!!!!! Regarding dog food abroad, I’m not sure but I think you can may be get the food delivered to a campsite if you’re staying there.

Hi, is the dog food restriction just on wet food or does it include dry food, as my dog is on a low calorie dry food. Thanks.

Good question! Honestly, I'm not sure but I would guess wet food.

I completely agree with restraining any pets in a motor home, and love the recommendations here but, need to make sure people are aware of the correct legalities for the uk. There is absolutely no law regarding restraining dogs, and it is not illegal to have an unrestrained dog in a car/motor home while driving. You cannot be fined for having an unrestrained dog. You can be charged/fined with dangerous driving if the fault of this was due to an uncontrolled dog causing distraction, loss of control or worse etc. If you have a completely calm dog that sits out of the way, and causes absolutely no distraction you cannot be charged or fined due to it being unrestrained alone. However, I believe any passenger human or animal should be restrained to avoid injury in sudden stops/accidents anyway, no matter how calm they are, but I wanted to let others know as I see this misinformation a lot.

It falls under the highway code
Rule 57 of the highway code states: “When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of restraining animals in cars.”

@@xhogun8578 That's correct but it is an advisory rule not a legal one! i.e. it does not use the legal terms must or must not but just 'make sure', therefore its advisory not legal.

There are probably a few, but the one I was talking about is Rookesbury Park. I'll do a review on it soon.
