Pay attention to the way he gets the Phillip's head screw to come out. That's a big save and many here on YT are suggesting drill and re-tap if it doesn't come out. No need to, just follow this man's instructions. Great video! Thanks!
I paid honda dealer to do break job and when I got it back you hit break pedal and severe wiggling ,I've done brakes before but never seen the pin holding brake pads in ,I bought new rotors and pads watched your video which is perfect, when I took of brake caliber I noticed on pin not in the hole in the brake pad so I changed both front rotors and pads withe new hardware they sent and problem solved ,thanks for saving me about 6 or 7 hundred dollars. I will never trust honda dealer again here in memphis tn
Thank you so much for posting this! I got a '12 Civic Coupe with warped rotors I'm gonna be changing everything on soon. I'm glad you mentioned the parts numbers since most of the brake pads I find are either too small despite being listed as for a Civic or don't have the retaining spring
Nice glad ur confident doing it ur self double check ur work and check for all bolts are tight and once completed wheels back on pump the brakes 4-5 times it will go from spongy to hard and ur set to go for test drive
@@adriandeloya5004was it doable? I’m building up the confidence tonight to replace mine tomorrow, and I’m hoping it goes smooth!! This video is doing a good job explaining but I have a habit of overthinking things!
Just a note, at least on the 2012's there's a special tool you need to compress the caliper back in cause it rotates. You can technically just use some scrap metal but the proper tool is like 10 bucks.
@@RBTheMechanic I was wondering if the piston on the front caliper also needs to be rotated like the rear calipers. The piston that needs to be rotated instead of compressed regularly looks like a cross
They are asking if spraying both sides of the rotor down with brake cleaner is necessary/may ruin something with a coated rotor. I had the same question 😅

Yup bro thank u definitely it will make it to #1 eventually!
100% agreed
@@DamianMasters thank u

SO good and thorough. Great explanations. Thank you so much!! 🙏
You are so welcome!
That technique for removing the screw by hitting the opposite side of the rotor is great. I bought a special tool for that I won’t be needing
Yuppp I had the punch it sucked and broke the bit so many times I stopped using it unless worst come to worst
But what if there are 2 screws?
What tool did you buy

Never seen that method to get the screw out. Very cool.
Hey man. Thanks for this tutorial. Saved me a bunch of money and time. Keep it up!
@@christopherhernandez3937 nice good job!!!
Looks relatively painless. Thanks for the video!
Yup welcome!!
Love your video first class on You Tube thanks for sharing and teaching us. Have a great Holiday.
Thank you!!
I could only wish for brakes that are this clean.
Very quick, to the point. Thank you.
Yeah thank you!! Easy and simple
The rotor is only held on by one screw? Thanks for the video!! What is a good quality brand?
Akebono
So are you sopposed to open the break fluid filler when compressing the cylinder or do you do both open the fluid filler and open the reservoir cap?
U don’t have to but it would be good idea
Is it best to do a thorough cleaning of the bracket I noticed you only used the wire brush a few times however the bracket had too much dirt.
Yes but it’s good enough but if u want to go beyond that then ur correct!!
@@RBTheMechanic Cool...do the rear breaks use rotors and pads as well?
@@frankie5739 this car has rotors also
Thanks for the video! What type of grease did you use?
Here’s video I did on grease and the type I used th-cam.com/video/sKrD8RoqRqk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b8W5M7vTV6CkFaZh
Can i use the sillicone grease to grease everything like you've done??
Not everything brakes tips can’t be silicon
Outstanding video!!! Thank you for your time and help
Welcome!!!
Good choice of pads. Good job

Is it only for the rear calipers? Or is it for the front and rear?
@@wildlifeshorts3475 I’m sorry what ru asking about rear caliper ? I can’t recall the last messag refresh my memory
@@RBTheMechanic I was wondering if the piston on the front caliper also needs to be rotated like the rear calipers. The piston that needs to be rotated instead of compressed regularly looks like a cross
@@wildlifeshorts3475 no not the front they just compress in on front only bad are disasters
Is there an alternative to using the compression tool
U can use clamp or do it while caliper is inside with old brake u can use flat head screw driver or pry part to squeeze it back in
A G-clamp
those little wires that you said are needed or else the brake will warp, what are those called?
It’s part of the brake hardware
Great video and much appreciated. This is going to make my day easier👍👍👍.
No problem 👍
Aren’t you supposed to use silicone grease on the clips hardware instead of anti seize grease?
Grease
Thank you for your content and channel ✌️❤️
Thank u
What is the brand name of that non-chlorinated brake cleaner?
It’s not clear to see
It’s just parts cleaner if u go to part store ask them brake cleaner
What compress tool should I get?
Same as I use works well
What if I got myself a coated rotor?
What about it
They are asking if spraying both sides of the rotor down with brake cleaner is necessary/may ruin something with a coated rotor. I had the same question 😅
Can you put the sizes of your tools in the description
I show it I can’t go back to find the tools to make list it’s all on the video
Best video out there !!!!
Yup thank you
Do you compress both pads
What u mean? Compress pad or caliper?
Compress pad
@@RBTheMechanicalso how do you “bleed”, what does “bleed” mean?

We only had to do front but if ur are required do so
That's at least a 2016 Civic, not a '15. I have a '15, the last year of the Gen 9, and that's definitely the headlights of a Gen 10.
Ok they still same service wise it’s definitely 15 I billed it 15 it had registration 15
Ppl can & do put aftermarket lights on their vehicles…
nah but the reflective panel isnt on the fender on 2015 models madeuce is right
@@domtj3946 it's literally an entirely different shape, a Gen X light physically can't fit in a Gen IX

The video is great but that is not a 2015 Honda Civic. It’s a 2016 - 2021 Honda civic
Ok I will check but they same process but the rear
This job is sooo easy idk why people don’t do their own jobs and save hundreds of dollars
Some little bit of hands on experience and ur expert
With videos like this how can you go wrong??? Step by step… don’t be scared people it’s this simple 😊
This is a 2016 civic
Ok
Almost perfect. You forgot to open your break fluid filler. Good video though!
Yes thank you I been doing that but I will start to add that part in video
those rotor screws are useless and annoying when replacing brakes
Yup they r waste of time and effort as well
Good
Mmm, brake dust, don’t breathe this
Yup I use mask now days
Great video, lay off the cocaine though
