  • This video goes over my time in Jasper Arkansas. This town is in the middle of the Ozark National Forest. During my time there we ate at the Ozark Cafe, checked out a lot of small businesses, and went to the farmers market. This is one of my favorite spots in Arkansas to check out, be sure to subscribe for more videos!

    I thoroughly enjoyed my week of exploring all around the Ozarks in NW Arkansas, though came away scratching my head at the fact that all of the towns out there in the actual Ozarks (like Jasper) seemed like ghost towns, very often with not a single soul in sight.

    • @ZachHollenbaugh
      @ZachHollenbaugh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can definitely be hit or miss. Summers have a lot more events and tourist going through for sure. But the area has a lot of scenic areas to check out!

      @@ZachHollenbaugh Yeah, I enjoyed tracing the Buffalo River and learning its history from Still a River. The War Eagle Fair and Ozark Folk Festivals wer fun, and I espcially liked making my way to the Parker Hickman homestead.

      @@rocklee-oi4lz Got it. You're not there, so you don't want anybody else to go there. Actually, I'll be back, and I'll bring my joy, engaging with "your land" while you're not. You pay for it and stay angry while I savor and revel there and stay happy. Hey, you makes yer choices.

    Did I hear you say you had to wait 45 minutes to get into a gift shop to buy some cheap t-shirts made in China? I just crossed Jasper off my list of things to see in Arkansas. Is there anyplace left around northern Arkansas to camp, mountain bike, and fish that's not crowded?

    • @ZachHollenbaugh
      @ZachHollenbaugh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Early weekdays in the winter a lot of places and hikes have less people. Any holiday weekend ya have to expect the crowds!

      @@ZachHollenbaugh Thanks- That's the way it is here in Colorado also. Crowds wherever you go!

    Looks like a small town with nothing to do. I live in ashdown ark and all we have are places to eat. My kingdom for a pool table.

      It's a nice little town to stay ate or eat, but you go to the area for all the outdoor activities, the hiking, fishing, kayaking, climbing and so on. Lots of waterfalls in the area that are worth checking out in the spring for sure!
